Score from 162 reviews Good
the atmosphere of the place is great. our doubled room was definitely good size and clean. You meet several people coming here to do the walks and climbs and share a lot of talks and experiences.
wifi was only "intermittently" working in the common areas. the room was boiling. we asked to switch off the radiator in our but it was not possible so we slept all nights with the window open.
Great stay pity about the wifi. But cleanliness and meeting other travellers is more important than wifi
Large central area with cafe. Relatively large, easy to meet people if you like. You can hang outside
Toilets were a bit shabby. When we came back 4 days later the staff tried to charge 1.5 times the price for the same dorms. Only after explaining we could have the same price as the first night (booked with booking.com) but we rather went to another place as there are plenty other places around.
The rooms were clean and they had big lockers
The kitchen wasn't well equiped and too small!
Super supportive staff, very clean room. Home of trekkers and travelers.
WIFI is satellite based so it takes time to connect.
the steff is friendliy, the location is owsome!
the wi fi is poor.
Great environment, lively atmosphere, staff very helpful
Very noisy, quiet areas not enforced.
The hostel has exellent location, staff is nice and helpful and the dounle rooms eith bathroom are really nice for a hostel.
The "continental" breakfast was bad, tea or coffee, some super hard toast, butter and strawberry jelly. No options for the flavour of the tea or the jelly.
Great staff that let us put our stuff there while out camping (even without further bookings), good facilities
Slow internet - but El Chalten is provided by patchy satellite internet so it was understandable. The location was a bit off, even in a small village it was really way off on the fringe
It's value for money. It did the trick for the night we stayed in El Chaltern. The gorgeous dog!!
The shower overflowed. With our muddy shoes too, the bedroom ended up swimming in filthy mud. Although id recommend to pack backers as it is what it is, I was actually pleased to leave. There is a member of staff on in the day that doesn't speak a word of English making it quite hard to communicate.
terminal de onibus distante
The bus from and to el calafate stops right in front of it. The front desk is really helpful! Staying here feels much more comfortable than other hostels I stayed.
The staff were great....helpful advice and friendly. Food at the restaurant was also good and very generous portions.
No complaints at all.
- Staff was friendly and helpful - Continental Breakfast was OK ! - Very clean hotel (specially shared bathroom) - Shared Kitchen was well equiped - The hotel's restaurant was very good !
- nothing !
- Breakfast - Staff really friendly
- Kitchen 2 cook by yourself was dirty and old. tip for hostel: A lot of people use this be sure this is clean and the equipment is good 2 use. tip 2: Put some basic things in it Oil, Salt/pepper, sugar, lighter...
Buses come and go to and from the front door.
Bed full of hair. Kitchen smells and has very few and in bad shape utensils. Staff not really helpful.
Staff were very helpful and they spoke English. Good food (bought dinners) and service Relaxed feel, though it was winter and quiet Close to hike trails Good information
We went hiking the trails in July and the information given to us was very informal, yeah it's fine, no problem type of info which turned out to be incorrect. Double check with tourist info as well. Breakfast was pretty ordinary, though we got a nice coffee so that was fine.
The région is gorgeous And the Stuff help a lot.
Great location, very close to the hiking trails. Hostel was clean, warm, comfortable with nice large common areas.
Breakfast was very poor. Their Booking.com page states "A continental breakfast buffet with natural juices, fresh cakes and seasonal fruits is served daily". No buffet, no juices only orange cordial, no cake or fruit. All that was served was toastadas, which were very poor. We asked about the breakfast and showed the staff their booking.com page, we're told that it was wrong as they have no fruit only canned fruit. .... We were offered a piece of cake that morning, only, same poor quality breakfast for the following two mornings.
Lovely hostel. Nice staffs Warm dorm bedroom Comfortable living room and dining hall. Close to supermarket Hot shower & clean toilet Close to trekking start point
slow internet (common problem in this city, not only this hostel I think.) 10-15 min walk from bus station, it is very difficult to walk during winter time as my shoes are not for ice/snow condition.
Lovely big common area. Bar serves nice food with very generous portions. Friendly place, would stay here again.
Kitchen needs to be improved, lack of utensils and you have to ask each time you need lighter or oil etc for cooking.
Cosy atmosphere Next to supermarket and trekking paths
The showers have the best water pressure you'll ever meet.
There were just SO MANY PEOPLE staying there. Place is huge and run like a big business, with the restaurant and everything more than like a friendly hostel. And the kitchen was TINY and dirty and you had to ask for cooking utensils, cups, knives, everything from the kitchen. There was no oven either. SO many people in there trying to cook at once
