What made my stay at San Carlos the most pleasant was the staff. They were very helpful, informative, and patient. They gave us sites to visit in BA and arranged taxi pick-ups and a Tango Show without a problem. Anything I requested: hot water, a fork, they gave without hesitation. I also thought for the amount of money I paid for the room I got more than I expected: a fridge, AC, Wi-Fi, and breakfast. It was also located close to the subway and they provided me and my friend with a metro card. I would recommend staying at San Carlos.
Staff went out of their way to make my stay enjoyable, helping with tour bookings and looking after my luggage when on a trip to Iguassu Falls. Clean, comfortable and quiet rooms
Excellent friendly staff. Quiet, clean and comfortable room.
The staff were super friendly and helpful and our room was spotlessly clean and very comfy - which is exactly what we wanted as we arrived late and left early the following day. We needed a place to stay for 1 night reasonably close to EZE airport without breaking the budget and this was perfect. The only options closer to the airport were min US$100/night and this was US$37, so even with a taxi ride there and back it was massively cheaper. The location was decent but not perfect if you're in BA for a while and wanting to explore so this is probably best for just a quick stop over like ours.
Although breakfast was included it was a very simple affair of toast, orange juice and tea/coffee.It would have been nice to get some fruit or eggs but as we only had 1 night and it saved us a lot of money on the room we weren't complaining.
The staff spoke very good English and were more than helpful. The rooms are quiet, air conditioned, clean enough and safe
Hotel is a long way from anything of interest as a tourist, perhaps with a better knowledge of the city metro this wouldn't be so much of an issue. I ended up spending two nights here and then moving to recoleta to be closer to the city center
The bed was so comfortable! I could have stay for days, but sadly I only stayed for one night. Excellent, clean facilities, well mannered staff, good wi-fi connection, nice shower and amenities provided. Definitely more than I expected for what I paid.
Nothing. Everything good.
Everything! Although it's away from the center subway and buses are close by and get you anywhere conveniently so don't let the distance discourage you. It's a nice neighborhood with tree-line streets. Shops, restaurants, are close by including two big supermarkets that are open daily! You can't find a better staff or better facility for what you pay, in fact you get much more. I stayed ten relaxing, pleasant days and was sad to leave. There's a fridge in the room, ac/heat, hot water, and they clean daily. After I initially booked I thought I may have made a mistake choosing a hostel far from the center, but I am so glad I didn't back out. I stayed in three other hostels/hotels in the center and while they were OK, staying at the San Carlos Hotel is by far the best choice I made.
Alberta, the owner, and Karina, the receptionist, spoke excellent English and were so helpful, especially when my hairdryer blew up, and they gave us very helpful advice on how to get out and about in the frenetic city that is Buenos Aires
Very little. The hotel is not located near the tourist attractions but it is not too far from a metro station and there are lots of buses in the area.
I stayed here for 4 days and Alberto and Karina were very helpful, and good value for sure.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating.
It is close to a busy road hence quiet noisy in the evening. Wear ear plugs if you are a light sleeper
I stayed a couple of nights in this hotel and what I can say is that it has a great value for the price ! Place is quiet, very well located: 200-300 m from Rio de Janeiro Subte (on you way out, turn left and go straight); clean too: the room was cleaned every day. Good wifi connexion too. Crew is lovely - special thank to Alberto who took good care of me, indicating great places to visit, and giving me maps. I highly recommend this hotel !
staff extremelly kind
Very friendly staff and hotel owners. Small, friendly place to stay for somebody who doesn't require high end standards. Perfectly commuted with center (close to 2 Sube stations) and other places by bus.
Helpful staff, 5 minutes walk to a subway station, some nice local restaurants though Spanish menus only
A little out of the way from the main tourist hubs of ba. In saying that very easy to catch a taxi or subway
