눉The Iguazù Sheraton, as it is without competition, at least in terms of location, offers a Soviet-style type of hospitality. Outrageous prices for an architecturally challenged and plain construction, not at all in keeping with its environment; just so-so rooms; below average food; indifferent, uncooperative service; slow Internet and no access in the guest rooms.
So, it's a case of location-location-location. It has indeed the easiest, walk-to access to the park's trail, a distant view of the Falls; those are definitely advantages, but they also help insure that the Sheraton will continue basking in its mediocrity, since there is no need to improve when you're the only game in town.
Far from me to suggest that there should be more hotels in the Park, the law will only allow for one and so should it be. The other hotels are obviously outside of the Park and a fair distance away from the Falls. So it's a toss-up between accessibility and pricey mediocrity.
An improvement at least to the quality and variety of the food and wine list shouldn't be too much to ask, considering that there is no other place around where one can eat.
눇Location, location, location!
To be fair, the breakfast buffet is good and the dining room personnel somewhat more agreeable and efficient than those working the bar and snack.
