Localization Bicycles available for guests The hotel was very cozy and had a good restaurant
I enjoyed the hotel, however i have some suggestions: - The tub in the room 205 was partialy clogged - It wood be nice to have a warm pool or jacuzzi - Breakfast could be more assorted
Debra at reception was very kind and helpful!
Spacious and bright Lobby area. Reception staff speak good english
Need to pay booked excursion in cash ARS.
good hotel for a short time stay in the area, relatively quite although not very far from main shopping/tourist area. Sufficient breakfast buffet,
everything was fine however hotel would need some refurbishment soon
Location is central within easy walking distance from town. Rooms are comfortable. Customer service is good and staff try to help when trying to book different travel packages.
No air-conditioning. No coffee makers in rooms. Breakfast was minimal with just scrambled eggs every day - could be better.
Let me say up front that the 4 stars here in this area will not equate to 4 stars in larger, city type areas. That said, this hotel is a boutique type, which can pretty much be said for the majority of hotels in El Calafate pluses were: -has own restaurant and bar open till midnight which is good as the hotel is situated at the tail end of town- about a 20 minute walk from the main eateries -overlooks pretty country side from the back of the hotel and some of the rooms -heater in rooms very adequate even when it is quite cold -dining room staff friendly -pleasant outdoor area to enjoy a drink - also 2 nice lounge areas inside to enjoy a drink that are separate from the restaurant/ bar area -free bikes to explore the area (if you can stay on with the wind!!) -small but pleasant gym area -nice touch with fresh apricots and plums for breakfast
slight negatives were: -extremely lumpy pillows - please invest in some new ones as they felt like they were 20 years old!!! -initially was shown to a room with 2 singles rather than the double room I booked. No problem- they changed my room, but it was just 2 singles pushed together. Please buy some proper double beds. Singles do not cut it- whether you are sleeping alone or with your partner- they are not the same as a double bed!!! -shower grouting has mildew which could be easily removed with some bleach and a scrubbing brush -English comprehension of dining room and reception staff very limited (I asked the same man at reception 2 days running for wake up calls. I did not receive a wake up call day 1 at all; Day 2 I watched him appear to write the time down, but later when I wanted to check the time I had told him, he stated that he did not have it as my English was too hard to understand!!! (I guess this just means then that you ignore the request!!) -the free wifi in both the rooms and lounge areas is extremely unreliable. It frequently dropped out and was often difficult to re-establish a connection - 2 old computers with old hard drives that still take floppy disc(!!!!) in the communal areas for use...however, consequently frustratingly slow, unreliable and at times, both would not be working -no printer connected to these and although reception happy to print your page if you email them the link of the page you want printed, this is cumbersome and not always convenient for privacy sake -for the cost of 2 new computers plus 1 printer, I would say invest and buy some as when you are travelling, these are things that matter to your guests - food of average quality When all is said and done- would I stay here again? Maybe but I would first look to see what else is around but I suspect many others may be similar - it is a small town afterall.
Very comfortable hotel. Very helpful with bookings for Perito Moreno glacier tour. Breakfast starts at 6 (unusually early in this part of the world) which is good if you've got a tour (or flight/bus) leaving early.
Only minor annoyance was that they only accepted cash for the tour that they booked for me - but then it seems to be common practice in Argentina to accept cash only when acting as an agent for another business even when they accept credit card payments for their own business.
excelent restaurant. The staff was super. Nothing at all to complain about.
Hotel nicely set off from street with lawns and flowers. Relaxing lobby with several comfy sitting areas. Walking distance to main street shops.
Good location, a short walk from the city centre. Helpful staff. Pleasant facilities.
Breakfast a bit on the poor side.
everything was fine
Perfect economic respite after time in the mountains. Great staff.
Staff very helpful. It was a good surprise that one of them (Jonatas) even speak portuguese. The hotel is near El Calafate center. The breakfast was excellent. The dinner was also very good. The hotel also offers lunchbox, which was great for us because we had to wake up very early to the "Navegación Ríos the Hielo", which ends only at 14h and there is nothing to eat inside the boat. The room and bathroom were quite big.
There was a little bit of cigarrette smell inside our room. The restaurant was expensive.
Good hotel, spacious room, quiet and very clean. The stuff was very helpful (although only in the reception speak English, but it is the common problem for Argentinian hotels, instead we learned some Spanish words!). Special thanks to Jonathan Cisneros from the reception!!!
The location of the hotel was perfect! Not in middle of town but a short walk to the center of town. The breakfast was lovely and the decor and rooms were very nice. The staff was lovely, polite and very helpful. Overall a wonderful place to stay.
The only thing we were not fond of was the bed. The mattress was not a queen but 2 singles pushed together. This created a hard bump in the middle of the bed. If you like to snuggle with your partner this could be a problem. If you like to sleep separate from your partner this is no problem.
Location, just outside the centre, but still within acceptable walking distance. Staf really did their best in accomodating us.
Room was a bit small, not the best bed during our trip through Chile and Argentina
Staff there are very nice and helpful.
Breakfast doesn't have many options.
Great place to stay. Comfortable, good breakfast.
No wifi in room, just in reception
Service and Price is very nice. It's highly appreciated the service there.
The hotel is very nice with a charming entrance, located only a few blocks from downtown, and a helpful staff. Our room had the most amazing view to the lake in the back of the hotel. Despite the old carpet, the room was clean and the wi-fi connection was working. They had also a gym and a garden.
The breakfast could have more fruit options and cold cuts.
distance to the city centre
The staff were very helpful in arranging our outings and in answering questions. The lounge and dining area were very comfortable, and the room was nice - best shower in Argentina. The location was a plus, next door to an exceptional restaurant but also only a short way from the busier part of town.
Not having free internet available in the rooms was a pain, as the two public computers were old and often occupied.
Friendly and helpful staff, spacious clean room, wonderful view over the lake
The internet connection is really terrible! It works for a couple of minutes, is down, works again, etc. To the manager: please fix this. It is 2014.
Near good location.
The hotel is in a good location near to the town and also close for transport to the glaciers and national park. The staff are helpful and pleasant and kept our family luggage for a late check out. We ate in the restaurant and found the service professional and the food good. The rooms and bed are comfortable and the gardens well tended. All in all a good stay at a very reasonable price. A hotel to be recommended for couples and families alike.
