Score from 206 reviews Very good
We stater here for a few days to regain our strength after a time of sickness. The rooms were big, the bed comfortable, they even had some TV channels with english.
The food from the bar varied from ok to so-so.
The hotel is in a lovely colonial building and the rooms are nicely decorated, with access to a swimming pool and a lounge.
The hotel is quite noisy at night. There was music at 1/2pm on the first night and early in the morning a couple of nights - both seemed to be coming from a lower floor up through the courtyard the room looked out onto. Anyone shutting the doors of rooms and into the building also echos up.
Property is only 1km by foot from city center
The products during breakfast were not available the whole time, we had to wait for croissants and coffee, this shouldn't happen in a 4* hotel
Near the penas -- folkloric nightclubs. Easy walking distance to center.
Absolutely beautiful hotel combining real old-world charm and glamour with excellent service and modern facilities. Would have loved to have stayed longer
My first stay in the hotel was 4 nights and i decided to return a few days later after i finished my roundtrip to Cachi/Cafayate. There is nothing to complain about the hotel or the service. Anything ist pretty well maintained and you feel that the staff acts as a team to serve the guests. What I like most is the style of the hotel itself and the bright enlighted rooms and the quality of the beds. Breakfast was good, either.
Comfort and Location
Breakfast not the best
This hotel got fantastic ratings by other travellers, it's very expensive at around 200 aud per night so I was expecting sotmg special, but it turned out to be a very big disappointment. What was good The hotel is in a lovely old spanish colonial building. Location is excellent, park opposite and 5 mins walk to the main plaza Rooms were large and clean, Breakfast was very good, huge variety and for a few pesos extra you can get a hot breakfast Staff where great very attentive and professional, a special mention to ignacio, very helpful and excellent English and Marco as well. Wi if was excellent, English language stations,on the TV, just select the language button and select English.
So what was bad and why I have rated this hotel so poorly, The air conditioning systems is a built in old system, very noisy in the room, but for 4 of the 5 nights I didn't need it but the air con is so bad, the noise from the vents in the passage, are a humming droning , noise, that permeates the floor, and the quality of sleep, was a 2 out of 10, I mentioned this to the staff and they said they would switch it off in the passage at night. But they didn'T. The 2 most basic things I need from a hotel is to be clean and have a quality sleep, on the latter Solar De La Plaza failed abysmally, and all the other good things about this hotel did not make up for it. Even if the aircon was silent , the hotel is over priced.
Well appointed, quiet room and beautifully clean. Breakfast available from 6.00 am. so no problem for early tour bus departure. Staff very helpful. Short walk to the main square. Good restaurants nearby.
Nothing, it was great. Highly recommended.
Very nice hotel close to Salta city centre. Very friendly staff. Great breakfast. Big rooms.
Staff went out of their way to help.(muchas gracias por todo) Room upgrade was unexpected but appreciated.Undercover valet parking a nice touch. Would jump at chance to stay here again.
only slight problem was that air conditioner was not working properly.(forgot to tell staff)
Very helpful staff. Varied, home-baked breakfast breads. Extremely helpful waitress made special coca tea to take on excursion to avoid altitude sickness. Most definitely recommended.
Nice, spacious rooms. The tours they recommended were good. Friendly staff. A comfortable, charming place to stay, very close to the center.
Since I planned my trip at the last minute, I wasn't able to do much research on restaurants. When I asked for a recommendation they sent me to a touristy restaurant that was probably my most expensive meal in Argentina and the most mediocre one. I think they might want to do a little bit more research on other venues around to not suggest to guests the most obvious places.
Grand old dame in the center of Salta This hotel is very well situated and relatively easy to find by Google Map, only problem was the on-off signalization of streets in the area and the wildly agressive bus drivers (the most agressive we have seen anywhere in Argentina) - but none of this is the fault of the hotel. As a matter of fact, we can find very little to fault at this hotel: the free indoor valet parking and the hotel-wide wifi were dependable and perfect, the reception staff was great at check-in and absolutely outstanding with our various questions as to functioning and driving in the area, etc - we cannot recommend this group of people enough! Large, bright, nicely decorated bedroom with wooden floor, desk with convenient electrical outlets, tiled bathroom with very good vanity countertop, curtained tub/shower, overall a very pleasing accommodation. Usual Argentine continental breakfast fare with fruit salad, breads, etc, as usual no eggs and a rather weak coffee Overall, a stay we very much enjoyed and heartily recommend.
Very quaint hotel. Spacious rooms and helpful reception staff
Very quaint hotel. Spacious rooms and helpful reception staff.
Friendly and helpfull staff. Excellent location facing a Park and surrounded by restaurants and bars. One of the best breakfasts we had in Argentina.
Restaurant was not open, but many options around the corner.
The location & the original features
The breakfast: no choice and poor service.
