Just 280 yards from Plaza San Martin and from Florida Street, Hotel Pulitzer offers stylish, modern rooms with free Wi-Fi and plasma TVs in downtown Buenos Aires. The Obelisk is one mile away.
Score from 717 reviews Very good
Being a small boutique hotel one gets to know the staff and they were very helpful in offering suggestions on where to go and not go in the city. They set up show bookings and took care of little things that make the difference in staying somewhere you have never been. A special thanks to Rodolfo and Edmundo at the front desk and the rest of the staff for making my stay so enjoyable.
The decor is interesting with fun little details. Both the lobby and the room had plenty of vintage items and pictures that contribute to the atmosphere. Breakfast was good.
Noisy AC was too loud even at the lowest fan setting so couldn't sleep with it on or had to use ear plugs. Keeping the window open was not an option because of street noise.
Great staff made us feel welcome and very helpful.
Very cozy hotel, great breackfast, very nice tango-style design.
We did not particularly like Suipacha street after sunset (but it is close to the Obelisc and a good restaurant, Broccolino).
We greatly appreciated the warm welcome and politeness of the staff, who spoke good English - handy when your Spanish is limited! They were helpful with arranging a 'safe' taxi for us to the International Airport on the day we departed. Its 'Latin' ambience of the place and its central location in Buenos Aires makes it a must for any traveller. Thank you Booking.com for your invaluable help as well. Full marks! We'll definitely stay there again if we ever visit BsAs.
There was nothing that we disliked about this hotel, having stayed at others in Buenos Aires.
General facilities and decor
It lacked a bit of authenticity
everything is good. breakfast good.
Hotel theme is tango. In the lobby there is a small show room with personal belongings of some famous tango dancers and musicians. Hotel is like you were sent back to 40's. Rooms are decorated in the same style, spacious and clean. Location is just few steps from Florida road pedestrian area of the city. Very friendly and helpful staff.
the hotel is beatifully decorated in the period theme, although not for you if you want modern and comfort. the staff was friendly and helpful. the location is perfect, walking distance to many places.
the breakfast is mediocre, with a very limited choice, only cold food. there are construction work right outside the hotel, very noisy during daytime. make sure you take electric adapters, they have only the funny old argentinian plugs, and although reception gave me one, i could only charge one device at a time.
Absolutely everything. Perfect! Beautiful clean rooms and excellent breakfast. Super friendly staff and fab location!
Wish I could have stayed longer :(
Location, design, price
Beautiful butique hotel in tango style, comfortable clean rooms, nice and helpfull staff, very good position close to the sity centre (Florida shopping street), breakfast quite simple but ok. Great hotel not only for tango fans and fans of vintage style.
The location was excellent. The hotel was exactly as advertised. Boutique, charming, comfortable, clean, excellent value.
Excellent service, interesting memorabilia in the lobby and dining room and in the room decor or the golden age of tango.
This is a wonderful boutique hotel - maybe 4-6 rooms per floor. I imagine staying there is what it was like to travel to high end hotels 50 years ago when they weren't giant chains: fantastic central location, impeccable service and personal attention, and beautiful up-to-date rooms with modern amenities. The staff is attentive (they keep the front door locked, so they know who their guests are to let them in), proactive (they'll check your schedule and offer to call you a remis), and helpful. When I arrived, the employee at the front desk didn't speak English very well, but he found me someone who did. Another employee brought my luggage to my room (I could have done it myself), and then showed me around the room - where the light switches were, the AC, and so on. The AC was lovely and cool, the rooms were spacious and perfect for personal or business travel, and the WiFi worked great and was free. And they offer a nice continental free breakfast in the morning. Oh - and a double room came with a king sized bed! This is the kind of place where returning on another trip would feel a bit like coming home again.
In a city where people rarely eat dinner before 10p, it might have been nice to have breakfast a little later, i.e. more like 11a than 10a. And there was no place except the middle of the street for my taxi to pull up...I felt a bit bad about that. But both are minor points, this is a great hotel.
The staff was outstanding, lovely atmosphere, nice and very clean rooms, conveniently located. I will suggest it to my friends
At check out We asked for a taxy to the airport but after 28 minutes waiting we decided to look for a taxy on our own. It was not the staff fault, but the private take company they count on is not really reliable.
Especially Rudolfo is supporting the guests with great motivation and knowledge
Location. Breakfast was good.
Beds were two singles, not two doubles as booked. Staff encouraged tourist tour, but yellow tourist bus would have been better
Location and old style Buenos Aires atmosphere.
WiFi only worked in the lobby. One of the reception staff was very unfriendly. They charged us a bottle of water we did not drink after a 5 nights stay (the price of the bottle was ridiculously low compared to the full amount we paid).
Very welcoming staff, very helpful. Nice breakfast and great room.
Can't think of anything!
very nice place in a great location!
Only there for a short while but liked the building which was full of character, the comfortable room, the staff who were helpful and provided a good breakfast and great position near to centre but seemingly pretty quiet.
It would have been great to have had tea making facilities in our room and the wi fi was perhaps a bit unstable.
Attentive and friendly staff quick to respond to needs. Good breakfast. Nicely renovated and decorated with old time tango paraphanalia. Would stay there again.
Fridge in room needed to be tucked under shelf and not out on the carpet. Bed had just a single sheet tossed atop bare mattress, no pad.
Very helpful staff. Close to centre
Very quiet street at night
Quiet and hassle free. Cleaned room when you decided to go out for the day. Good breakfast - omelette and coffee to order if wanted, on top of standard options. Reception really helpful after initially a bit stand offish. Definitely stay again
Wifi was a bit iffy in our room (really good in toilet!) but it was a holiday so no big deal
