Score from 233 reviews Good
The location is great for local bars and food and to get a feel of Buenos Aires. The gentleman at reception was extremely helpful, upgraded my room, arranged my taxi to the airport, and even helped me as I didn't have enough cash! The amibiance is good and the relaxation areas are perfect to read a book or use the internet on the ipad. I loved the old swing and Sinatra music throguhout the downstairs.
The website is not representative of the hotel. I was dissapointed on arrival but only beacsue my expectations were high due to the website and booking.com The rooms do not look anything like the pictures on the site. I was upgraded to a jr suite but this meant i received a table and walk thgouh closet, not as per the website picture. The hotel needs a good dust and a good thorough clean. The wifi in the rooms is poor and I and I had to sit downstairs to use my tablet. I can't comment on the food/drinks beacause when I asked for a drink from the bar the lady at reception told me it was closed (7.15pm!)
Location was great. Plenty of restaurants and bars nearby with subway 15 min walk away. Lobby area is also very nice. Staff are very helpful.
The rooms were very average and a bit shabby. Visable mould on walls and ceilings. We booked a suite with 2 beds as the rate seemed reasonable for a suite. We saw a standard room during our stay and there was no difference between the suite and standard room. We were annoyed by this as we had paid a premium for a suite.
The location was perfect for us as we loved the palermo shopping strip.
Very dusty and give my wife allergies. Internet was very poor on the rooms. Breakfast was the same everyday - Bread was old... Overall ok to stay but I would try another hotel if I can next year.
It was really comfortable. The place was very nice, and the service was outstanding.
The service, confort, everything was perfect. I totally recomend it.
Excellent service. No issues have I encountered there. Perfectly good
I enjoyed my time there.
It was totally worthy, im looking forward to come back soon.
Amazing location in Palermo. Front desk managers were both amazing. Very helpful and friendly
Photos on website dont really represent the property anymore. Everything is quite dated and run down. Wifi problems but in fairness it was a holiday weekend so difficult to get repaired.
great location, and very friendly and helpful staff
restaurant & bar were closed due to no cook, ants in my room, overall state of room needed updating…wires hanging our of power outlets, cracks in walls, and overall just old
Old, not well maintained, decadent, the pictures do not represent the hotel nowadays, this is a tricky booking , avoid
The place is shabby an totally run down. No Internet, no hot water, broken deteriorated furniture. Smells dirty. Breakfast was minable. The only thing right about this place apart from excellent location is Adriano the day receptionist. This place looks like the owner is uncaring and is making no investment in maintaining and giving service or proper conditions. Shocking!
Friendly helpful staff, delicious media lunas, impressive reception
Rooms in need of a bit of an update
No room service, poor staff, no decent wifi, horrible breakfast, old towels, dirty swimming pool
No room service, poor wifi acces, poor brakfast, horrible coffee, old towels, no dolar change,
Stylish, especially the ground floor. Great location - moments from the action but very civilised.
Staff indifferent, hotel poorly maintained and neglected. Our towels and sheets were worn and torn. The swimming pool looked filthy and everywhere but the beautiful ground floor was shabby. Ultra looks like a hotel that's losing money and is unwilling/unable p maintain it to an acceptable level.
The staff where incredibly hospitable and helpful. Also tall and handsome (shhh, I didn't say that?!) The location was perfect and the decor was very much of a nice boutique hotel. Good shower too which is a must!
There was supposed to be wifi in the rooms but it didn't work, I inquired and they reset it, but it still didn't work and I had to sit in the lobby in order to get online, which for the price of the hotel was not acceptable. I was also not impressed with the cleanliness of the room. I found a beer bottle cap lying around when I arrived, so clearly it wasn't properly cleaned from the prior guest. And there were stains on the furniture... I don't want to know where they came from!
This place is uber-comfortable! Maybe like that favourite old slipper or gloves! There is no pretention but only great ambience and hospitality. Staff are excellent and go out of their way to help and great English speakers also. The hotel is located near lots of quirky boutique shops and lots of bars and restaurants. Value for money was first class.
Wi-Fi was variable in the rooms but always worked in the reception area. Rooms were little dated but roomy and comfortable.
Location is excellent, wifi in room is good. The balcony and TV were nice, too.
The list is endless: The obnoxious, strong, nonstop sewage smell that takes up the hotel is unbearable, and tells guests that the place is unsanitary. The staff tells guests that the problem is being addressed, but it is clearly a lie, from reviews from previous guests dating months ago. Adrian was rude in general, but specifically when we asked for towels to use at the pool, which was out of order (we also saw from previous reviews that it has been for a very long time) - there is not a single warning sign in this regard. The pool is FILTHY. Towels in the rooms are old and tired. The robes are ripped. The minibar is never refilled. Breakfast has potential, but the food is not replaced, there was never enough silverware for all guests, and tables are simply not cleared after the guests finish eating. We were promised eggs for breakfast, which were never delivered. Maintenance in general is poor, as well as cleanliness. The rooms are not at all like the photographs in the hotel's website, which misleads guests. It was a huge disappointment. HUGE.
location very good, 2 min walk from bars. pleasant, relaxed, area of town. lobby and rest of ground floor area nicely decorated and appealing. small but pleasant rooftop pool relaxed reception staff**
**Nice to see relaxed reception staff, BUT the guarantee that room would be ready by 3pm was unfounded. We got in the room about 3.25 having arrived very early and taken the opportunity to go for a walk and some lunch. Arrived back at 3pm, room not ready. Receptionist friendly and likeable but his relaxedness became irritating, and his vagueness and que sera sera attititude grating, and his jokey manner came over as flippant. We just wanted a quality boutique hotel to be .. a quality boutique hotel. The junior suite we were shown to lacked the class and touches of the photo (on booking.com and hotel's own website). The "living" area that makes something a suite was 2 hard chairs, not something one would want to relax on. Pillows were a bit dirty (probably overused, worn, not because they weren't washed). Oh, and the receptionist had at first sent us to the wrong floor .."la suite esta en tercer piso, creo" (the suite is on the 3rd floor, I think) ... this HAD to be another little bit of humour on the part of the receptionist. NO! he actually wasn't sure and let us wait at lift with our heavy bags, take the lift and go to the wrong room etc. We were thinking of leaving but suggested they just give us a ROYAL SUITE which was bigger and better (but nothing particularly royal and luxurious about it) and all would be forgiven. A chambermaid had shown us a royal suite, in fact both. Back at reception, they could give us only 2nd of our 2 nights in the royal suite, because it was occupied the 1st night. A disgruntled couple who had has no hot water for 3 days (or 4?) was in reception and we started talking to them, and suddenly the hotel decided to put us in the Royal Suite for both nights. Breakfast: the disgruntled couple in reception had said that the breakfast was however very good. Our experience did nothing to make up for anything. It was a buffet, and buffets are self-service, no problem.
the public areas were very well decorated.
No staff other than one person on reception, one was very helpful the other two were appalling. Bar opens at 8pm only, don't bother ,nicely decorated but no one to serve and nothing available. Room 13, 2nd floor is painted a trendy black and very dark the bed was very comfortable but the sink was filthy , the bath chipped , tiles falling off , very very shabby. On complaining we were were offered an upgrade by the one helpful receptionist this didn't happen until late the next afternoon , room 15, 3rd floor was much lighter and the staff had made an effort to clean it, however the walls did have black mould growing on them. We didn't try the swimming pool, but did go onto the roof to look at it, there were 4 sun beds and 2 built-in bench seats but no chairs or tables for anyone else to use. We have stayed in this area before and would say avoid this hotel ,the pictures are representative of the public areas only , it has a long way to go on the bedrooms and especially the service and attitude.
friendly staff, very good location, nice designe
dirty swimming pool and all roof flore
Noisy No own power generator so poor electricity and no water during our stay! Breakfast is poor (they saved on eggs -last year still served) Way too expensive for what is offered
Good, friendly staff and great location
