I am not in the habit of calling places a gem but this is one. It is a nice quite apartment in downtown Buenos Aires. A comfortable room and friendly host who left a sandwich and an apple ready for me when I had to leave early on my last morning.
Large terrace + common rooms Friendly welcome Excellent service Quiet refuge in busy city Best place we stayed in 3weeks of travelling in Argentina, great value for money
Gisela is nice lady, clean bed & good shower. Claudia(staff) is very kind and efficient. Quiet place.
The bathroom is out of the bedroom
The owner of the place. Gisela is very nice. She has a very good taste, so does her apartment.... comfortable, clean, good breakfast etc. It is far worth it for the price you pay. Thank you, Gisela
This place is great for families and/or large groups that want to rent the whole apartment for an extended stay (5 days or more). Otherwise, it can feel strange at night in a place with 5 rooms and 3 patios all by yourself. The area is full of nice restaurants and close to many attractions. However, as Buenos Aires is a huge city, do your homework and see which barrio (neighbourhood) meets your interests prior to choosing a hotel.
Location is great, the place is very clean, bright, nice. I will stay here if I go back to BA
Friendly owner, great breakfast, wonderful location, very clean, safe, well kept and decorated.
The bed frame wasn't sturdy and made a lot of noise with any kind of movement. A guy practices his violin next door so you'll hear that as well. Although he does only seem to play at decent hours.
We've been traveling for 9 months and it was one of the best place we stayed during our trip : comfortable, clean, excellent location, good wifi and the owner is a very nice person. If we come back to BA we will go there again without hesitation.
Leaving this place.
The great hospitality of the owner. The location. The internet connection.
I was expect to be a hotel, and I was surprised when I saw that was an apartment. However, when I got the keys, everything was ok.
Had a great stay at Via Arriba B&B. Staff were excellent and it was a lovely apartment in good part of town.
Nothing. Liked everything.
Apartment is very well located - quite close to the main avenue. Gisela was very nice and willing to help. Breakfast is just wonderful ! Very good wifi signal. This apartment is clean too. Will definitely come back next time !
The place is absolutely miraculous. It is located bang in central Buenos Aires and is in fact a private flat, not a hotel. The owner, Gisela, spoilt me rotten with a lovely welcome and breakfast. I happened to have the whole flat to myself that night (the B&B has two rooms only) and enjoyed it greatly. It is very clean and has a fabulous terrace - not really overlooking anything but giving a good glimpse of how locals live in Buenos Aires. Definitely returning!
Very cozy, great attention to detail, in a nice old apartment literally around the corner from "subte"/subway station Lima. Great breakfast with fresh fruits and freshly squeezed juice was served even before the official breakfast hours.
The only - really minor - issue and maybe just a pesonal thing: for nicer restaurants we had to look in other areas of the city, but that's not much of a problem due to nearby subway and easy availability of cabs in the city (and as mentioned this really depends on what you are looking for in terms of places to eat).
A really nice place to stay: we would definitely go back. Gisela is such a friendly and helpful hostess, the accommodation is roomy, clean, comfortable, well located. What more could you want? Via Arriba is a gem.
1.Lovely place with a lot of character. 2. Very good location. 3. Very helpful and nice hostess. Good value for moeney.
Excellent breakfast, nice staff
The owner Gisela is just wonderful as is Claudia who helps out with breakfast and cleaning. The location is perfect right near Av 9 Julio, Obelisk and de Mayo as well as Subte. Comfortable room, nice terrace for outside breakfast. Don't be put off by look of street or doubtful taxi or transfer driver that think you are going to the wrong place. This is a great BB to stay at in Buenos Aires, you can not go wrong with Via Arriba I would say but as always depends on what you are looking for. I mean there is no swimming pool, this is just a real nice BB.
- the location and apartment are perfect - Gisela and Claudia were very welcoming - Breakfast was very good - Attention to details
very kind service, excellent braeakfast
>The owner is great and very helpful. >The location is perfect (bus station, metro station nearby) > you feel like at home: the place is actually a flat, with two rooms rented, but you can enjoy during your stay the balcony for breakfast outside if it's not too hot, there is a large living room with a couch and plenty of books to read. > Air conditionning !
> it's more a tip for you: the owner thought we knew how to use the air conditionning but we did not recognise it was air conditionning (I thought it was Electric Heating). Make sure to use it when it's 38 degrees ;)
Located in city centre. Close to many attractions, restaurants.
Vers friedlich personell, very clean, quietscht Accomodation.
It is centrally located within walking distance from several of Buenos Aires landmark buildings. The B&B is spacious and tastefully furnished. The owner of the B&B is quite attentive, thoughtful and helpful. We would like to stay here if ever we return to Buenos Aires in the future.
I can't really point to anything that I didn't like. An attached toilet would have been convenient. But it is not too much of an inconvenience, coming to think of it.
Very roomy, excellent location, secure, great breakfasts.
Using the stove was slow for my cuppa!!
Please read our previous review. Over the course of three weeks, The Via Arriba became our home base. We spent 5 nights there, went off to Uruguay for 4 days, came back for one night, went to Santiago for another 4 days and back for one. Each return visit was like coming home to the always friendly Gisela, the owner, Claudia her assistant and José the concierge welcoming and re-welcoming us with friendly smiles. We will be back!
