A 15-minute walk from Innsbruck’s historic quarter, the Heimgartl is located right by the Inn River. The Nordkettenbahn cable car can be reached in a 5-minute walk.
Score from 433 reviews Very good
Very strong smell of smoke in the room. Floor hanging so much that we feared it could collapse.
personnel was great .... great enough that is to compensate for the downside. breakfast wasn't bad either - fair enough for the ski-goer
more than half of the hotel visitors during our one week stay were in fact construction workers. absolutely nothing against this set-up but between 08:00 and 18:00 they were busy re-building some of the hotel rooms ... which meant a lot of noise, a lot of dust and a lot of inconvenience for the real tourists. we were out between 08:00 and 17:30 so we didn't get much of the downside (except for half an hour daily and a full one hour the last day we stayed there). also not very nice was the breakfast room which between 07:00 and 08:00 was 70% filled with the construction workers - again nothing wrong with that if all of them would have followed the example set by about three of them: to come in the breakfast room dressed ... well, dressed for breakfast and not in the working attire, full of dust, paint and other construction leftovers => not really inviting for breakfast. Considering that the price was in the range of 100 euros per day .... I don't think this is something one can easily turn a blind eye to. It's a bit like when you go visit the swimming pool ... you are expected to take a shower before diving in the pool. Of course the above only applied to the 5-6 days we've been there. They might as well finish their work and return the Hotel to it's normal function and the rest of you wouldn't notice that. The parking space was there - which was good, but given the large number of construction teams on-site, the parking space was taken by large vans parked as free-style as it gets. Three days out of our six there we spent doing a lot of back and forth to get our car out (which btw is a rather small one - a VW Golf). The WiFi was free but it was only working fine if you were close to the reception area - in the room it was only working in one of the corners. Maybe we got the wrong room. Another thing was the promissed ski-bus: my understanding of a ski-bus is a bus that takes you from the Hotel to the ski-area.
Location and price
A bit rundown but ok
Staff and location great comfortable beds and breakfast fantastic
Wifi is inconsistent
Great location - minutes from the railway station and the old town. Perfectly clean, comfortable bed and room size. Was only there for one night but would happily stay here for a few more days to explore more of Innsbruck. The staff couldn't do enough for us. Thank you!!
Cheap, middle-class, nice breakfast.
Great location just near centre.
Very good location and staff.
this is a very tired hotel very noisy due to broken window very poor sound proofing, hair dryer broken ,no signal for tv just tired
Good location, big room for 4 persons, parking.
Very poor Wifi performance.
Great place 8 years been staying here
Wifi not the best in room
single rooms weren't as new as doubles
good location, walking distance from center. nice reception staff, explained everything. good parking space.
bad TV location, not in front of bed. weird smell in bathroom, the venta didn't work.
Walking distance from old town. Close to Stilpark shopping centre. Walking distance from train station. Room looks nice.
Breakfast didn't have a lot of options, and staff not really helpful at the breakfast. For example, we were not offered any eggs, not sure if we should have asked?
Close to city center Parking behind the hotel free of charge very comfortable for people travelling by car Good breakfast with the coffee machine Easy to find if they travel without GPS
We found in the room the table and special seats designed to have meal. But if so, why not to put a kettle and a mini fridge in the room where we could keep a can of beer or a small sandwich
The bed was confortable.
The front desk people weren't helpful at all. The wall of the bedroom was dirty with spoiled drink. The hotel stays a half an hour walk from the old city.
Ideal location, value for money and room was Ideal for family and group of friends. breakfast okay. Wifi a little restricted to the amount of appliances used at once but other wise okay
Was the cheapest available hotel on the day of booking
Feels a bit too old-fashioned but not in the good-vintage-style way. The bathtub looked a bit dirty. And if you are taller than 1.75-1.77m (7 feet 4) you won't feet into their beds
+ location + style
- rooms on the top floor have reduced head-room - can be painful if you're tall
The staff were great, the rooms were extremely comfortable, it was quiet, and the breakfast was AWESOME!
Very good breakfast
Rooms very small. Our room smelt of cigarettes. Very pricey for what we got.
A fantastic location only a short walk to the old city. Rooms were extremely comfy with very comfy beds. The hotel staff were polite and helpful. Breakfast was very good in a lovely room. We would stay again.
Our room was a top floor attic and while very comfy the bathroom was cramped without room for a proper shower. No shower curtain so water goes everywhere.
Cosy rooms Good breakfast Friendly staff Not far from center of Innsbruck (10-15 minutes'walk)
WiFi slow or not working
Buffet breakfast Mountain views Good cotton bedding
Broken window that couldn't be fixed. Broken hairdryer (but was quickly replaced). Smokey smell in room even though it was non-smoking (I think it was because there was smoking in the corridor and elsewhere in hotel). Bit of a trek to the prettier bits of Innsbruck.
The smell of old carpet is annoying
