A very comfortable hotel with delightful staff. We found the area ideal: very close to the museum quarter, great bars and restaurants close by but not so busy.

A unique experience. The hotel was a fantastic blend of the old and the new, stylishly designed, quirky and extremely well appointed. The hotel location was excellent and perfectly complimented our Vienna experience, echoing many elements of the city itself; opulence and grandeur mixed with artistic intrigue and history. The staff could not do enough to make us feel at home; if only 'home' was like the Altstadt!

Super friendly staff, fantastic rooms with lovely l'occitaine toiletries. The breakfast was delicious and the complimentary afternoon tea made the aldstadt feel like a home from home. The decor is really interesting, with lots of really nice art on all the walls. Cannot speak highly enough about this hotel. It really made my trip to Vienna special. Will definitely stay in the altstadt again!

The building itself is a noteworthy attraction, as well as its relative proximity to the theatre and city centre. Our room was spacious and well-appointed, with a high ceiling, a grand window and an excellent en-suite bathroom, and the breakfast was sumptious, with high-quality meats, cheese, bread and fresh eggs to order on offer, among other nice things. The lounge/salon is redolent of old-fashioned comfort, with a wood fire and discreet service complementing decor consistent with a former stately home. The reception service was friendly, helpful and informative, and certainly we should not have coped with Vienna's rather complex tram arrangement without patient guidance from this part of the operation. To be honest, we regret not having had more time in Vienna to enjoy both the city and our acommodation. It is a trivial enough point by comparison with the long list of significant things to like about the hotel, but the means of making a nightcap cup of tea in the bedroom might have been a nice addition.

We had a warm welcome upon arrival - all staff spoke clear English - and they gave us a tour of the facilities and even gave us a nice Vienesse coffee while our room was being prepared. There are 3-4 salons where you can go sit and chill out. In the main room there was a fireplace, nice decor and music playing where we had tea/coffee and homemade cakes at 4pm. It was so comfortable we came back on Friday night and had a bottle of wine by the fireplace. The breakfast was fantastic. The hotel is a pleasant 4 minute walk to the Ringstrasse and then another 5-10 minute stroll into the central square of Vienna. There are plenty of boutiques around the hotel as well. It was a windy night and the ivy vines outside kept banging against our window and kept us awake. I would recommend that the hotel cut these down so they do not disturb guests in the future. Luckily we had ear plugs.

The staff at Reception were excellent and attentive and very prompt in their services. The breaskfast room was very comfortable and a good array of choice of food. Senior waiter (male) was excellent and was very good at his job and I like the idea of daily afternoon teas with the home- made cake. I loved the art work through the hotel and that each room was styled individually and the location made it easy to move around Vienna. I was very comfortable in my room and was nice to come back to each afternoon.

Great hotel. The personnel was very helpfull and pro-active. Good choice of food and drinks at breakfast. Clean room and not noisy. Between 3 pm and 5 pm. suggest to have a cup of tea/coffee with some cookies free of charge in a cosy hall with classic music. Though we paid for an ordinary double room, when we arrived we were given Suite Privee for the price of a double room.

The excellent service provided by each member of the staff that we came in contact with during our stay. They are all helpful and friendly! We appreciated the effort and gesture by one of the staff who came to our aid when we were having difficulty with the wi-fi reception in our room and the common area. She let us try out a personal hotspot device and let us hold on to it for a day. With the personal hotspot, we were able to access the internet in our room and while walking around Vienna and while riding in the subway. She went the extra mile for us ro make sure our stay was enjoyable. Only issues was with the weak wi-fi signal.
