Not many bars in the area for a quite drink, but you can travel a little bit so its not too bad.

Hotel Altwienerhof has a warm and familial atmosphere, run by a congenial staff. The location very close to the U-Bahn Gumpendorfer Straße station on u6 line provides a convenient platform for sightseeing, though it could be a little better if it were on u3/u4 line. Our room was quiet and clean. Room rate was quite competitive.

Our room was spacious and warm-looking, yet never actually warm, despite heaters constantly turned on. Bathtub drained very slowly, washbasin was not ergonomically laid out, the antique tv didn’t work, and cold draft hit where the pillows are.

Old hotel what requires minimal renovation, old carpet and sofa with stains in the room, no small fridge. Very budget hotel.

I was looking for the hotel where I could find following: 1) a big room for my family, better 2 rooms (3 children) 2) breakfast included 3) Possibility to stay with dog 4) near city center And all above I found in this hotel. Also, very friendly and pleasant staff, good breakfast, easy to park car - just in front of the door. So, I am 100% satisfied with my choose.

For the deal we got, it was amazing. If I remember correctly the base hotel prices are much higher than what we paid. We booked a double-bed room and we got: a large bedroom with a huge bed (3 m wide), superb bathroom with a large tub and a shower, living room and a small kitchen. Ok, the TV was old an did not have many channels, but we did not care for that. Also the location is no great, but the metro station is less than 50 m away. There was one thing that bothered me on the second night: the wind was very strong so the metal poles holding the flags outside were making a lot of noise. I hope they fix that. All in all, I quite liked the hotel, expecially the old, but clean decor.

Room was ready when we arrived at 10am.

There were no even basic services, no restaurant, minibar, fridge, nothing. I hoped to be in a historical 40meter suite, it was nothing special, old (dirty walls, holes in curtains, squaking bed etc.) does not mean historical. WIFI was promised but did not work at all. It is not a bad hotel in principle, but one really expects much much more from the pictures and descriptions on the web (both Booking and own web pages). Clear disappointment, I would not come again.

This is a nice atmospheric little hotel in a convenient location

Although my room was clean it was in deperate need of renovation. The wallpaper was old faded and marked , the carpet stained and very old and the furniture was a mish mash of old 70's stuff ( a tatty three piece suite and a huge formica coffee table). I fully accept that this hotel is in the bargain end of the market , and as such represents reasonable value for money. However, I don't think it is unreasonable to expect slight better quality .

Staff was friendly and helpful, rooms were nicely furnished and equipped.

Have stayed at this hotel several times before. We are always very happy with our stay and would not contemplate staying anywhere else in Vienna. Although a little way out of the centre the transport links are easy and Vienna's public transport is second to none. Our room was incredibly spacious and spotlessly clean. Lovely breakfast.

Very quiet hotel, clean rooms, good located with the subway station nearby.The privat garage is very convienient. Friendly, helpful and discreet staff. Good breakfast in a nice and cosy room. We appreciated our stay in this hotel and will choose it again for a next visit in Vienna.

Good location, big rooms, good beds, nice breakfast atmosphere

The service, the people at the reception and the manager were extremely friendly and helpful. Sorin even spontaneously brought me a glass of delicious Austrian wine, when I was working late. The location was literally 50 meters from the metro station, and connections were really fast so you would be in the center of vienna within about 10-15 minutes. Amazing value for money,

Nothing big, the water pressure in the shower could have been a little bit higher.

I chose it because of location near train and metro transportation and price. The staff was great. The breakfast was good. The room was clean and very adequate.

Very homely feeling, sufficient breakfast, friendly and helpful stuff. Only few steps from public transport ( inc. underground station ), which makes any destination of interest reachable in no more than 20 minutes. Good value for money.

It's a little bit dated, the wallpaper seems to need replacement.

Excellent Old Hotel in a lovely building

The gentleman manager was exceptionally well informed and helpful. The cleaning staff were also exceptional and very polite as was the breakfast waiter. The breakfast was very good and varied - no cooked food except boiled eggs - but not really missed. The hotel is very close to the train station and connects easily to Westbahnhof where the airport bus leaves from. Direct train to Vienna for 2 euro each way.

The hotel is in a very seedy part of town and coming and going can be a little daunting. There is also no restaurant or snack bar on the premises. However we found out later that it is a short walk to a couple of nice Austrian restaurants. Ask staff.

A delightful atmosphere with very close access to the metro. This hotel had the traditional charm that is fast fading in many European cities.

Beautiful, old building with gorgeous rooms. Great breakfast. The owner was amazingly helpful.
