The spa facilities were clean and nice. Great sauna and steam room, plus relaxation area. The rooms were simple, but comfortable. The room service was horrible. Microwave pizzas and such. And even though the hours were on the room service card in our room, the rude woman on the phone argued with me because she said it was closed, when it wasn't. This happened two nights in a row. Then, the food arrives still frozen in the middle. Extremely disappointing. Why were the people at this hotel so horrible??? I really didn't get it. Why enter the service industry if you don't like helping people, or at the very least, can't be polite? The front desk clerks were so rude. Unbelievable. And it wasn't just one of them, it was several of them. The dark haired guy with the giant diamond rock in his left ear - extremely rude. The dark haired young lady that was working afternoon/night with pink glossy lipstick seemed extremely annoyed any time we would ask basic questions, i.e. where are ski shops, can you suggest a restaurant. I've never felt like I was bothering someone so much by just asking a question at a hotel desk. They would sit in the office for minutes, as we would stand at the desk waiting for some basic service. Then they would get up, annoyed, like we disturbed their Facebook session, or something. For a 4 Star hotel, they sure did hire the rudest people possible.

Location was great Poor service at breakfast. Manager particularly unhelpful in accommodating a family group of 8 - despite having the resources to do so. Large group tour of children were also staying at the hotel when we were and their behavior upset a couple of our party.

Great location (walking distance to the old town), good sized rooms, great bathroom and an onsite bar and free wifi. Car parking. The service on check in was average, however we couldn't fault the rest of our stay.

I enjoyed the entire hotel - the only two things that missed at the hotel is free hotel parking and wireless internet in the rooms.

Great location across from lift/train up the top of the mountain. Staff quiet helpful and organsied ski gear hire for us. Only a few minutes walk into the main part of town. If you want breakfast it is an exta cost. Too far from the train station to walk, have to catch a cab.

The hotel was in a great location with a excellent view of the mountains. It was easy train ride up the mountain to ski and easy 5-10 minute walk to the old city for shopping and food. The bad news is that they do not provide kettle for heating water, made it difficult to prepare milk for our son. It was fortunate that the tap water was hot. The room also lacked the little extras that we take for granted in asia like slippers, razor, cotton buds and tooth brush. Got a tooth brush after asking. I suppose to many people steal these items.

The central location (5 minutes to the Altstadt) was very nice. Also, I took the funicular and cable car to the top of the Nordketten and this hotel is just about perfectly situated for this....directly across the street from one of the funicular stops. There was parking eventhough it was not free. Still, it was a convenience. Nice views of the mountains from most of the hotel rooms. The hotel seemed a bit 'dead'....no atmosphere or any life in the lobby. The room, at first pass, felt like being assigned to a college dorm room. Absolutely not character or personality. Another thing...in 2011, no wi-fi...at all...free or otherwise. For a hotel that is positioning itself as a boutique, trendy chain, this didn't seem to be very technology forward. I was travelling alone but only 1 towel in the bathroom? Though the hotel wasn't busy, there was never a front desk person actually at the front desk...when they were, they were professionally ok...just didn't seem to be very excited to be there or to have guest there, either. Otherwise, the hotel served its purpose.

I did have a great stay with a few minor problems. The key point is how the problems were dealt with .Mr Buger the general manager was quick to right the wrongs .Great management with the foresight to turn a mediocre experience into a very good one.For that reason I went on to book his hotel chain in the next city. Thanks
