great central location, room nicely furnished, reception staff were nice and helpful, lounge with free drinks

I found a sock under my bed and the bathroom hasn't been properly cleaned, which is unacceptable for a 4-star-hotel. Next to our room there was the service-room, where people were talking too loudly every morning before 8 am. Sometimes we could hear our neighbour's TV, which means that the walls weren't sound-proof at all.

Nothing really except the location. The reception was unfriendly, bordering on the rude, they were severly understaffed, service was poor. Very basic facilities for a room that costs 220 euros, no view, nothing in the room except a fridge and a hair dryer. No body lotion, conditioner or any other basic item, no iron board or iron, no kettle or coffee maker, no cups, and in the muggy whether in aug no aircondtioner. Very poor really. Only redeeming feature is free Wifi. Your rating of 8.2 is totally unjustified.

The Hotel is 10 minutes from rail station and there is also a bus stop just at the corner of the hotel to the rail station. The room was clean and good for city trip and 1 night. The receptionist were very kind and gave good information about the attractions. There is a rest area with complimentary drinks.

The room was small with two separated beds for single occupancy which made the room small.

Clean, friendly and economical. No big frills or bar, but free espresso and mineral water in the lounge and no bad surprises. Everyone is polite, hardwAre and furniture may be slightly dated, but is good quality. Very clean. Good return for the money and very good location. Somewhat noisy on the street side. No a/c but old stone construction and high ceilings make it quaint and combfertable.

While the rooms offer, simply, the comforts one would expect, our room had a bed with a broken bedframe, which is an indication about their overall concern of guest comfort. After all, one books a hotel for the purpose of getting a good night's sleep. To their credit, the staff did check out the problem and did their best to stabilize it for the night. While that did not fix the problem at all, and while no compensation or discount was offered, one does hope that our alert may have averted a similar experience for the next guests. The highly overpriced breakfast is not worth it. Based on other visitor recommendations we elected to forego the cost and find pastries at a next door café.

poor value for money

The hotel situated near Mirabell platz, pretty close to the old city, where all the interest is concentrated. Parking is 1 block away, 13 euro per auto. Bus stops are also very close, one is across the street, the other one is half block away. Railway station is 15 min walking or 7-8 euro by taxi away. Drug store is near parking lot. Room itself is pretty big, 2 single beds are either separate or together, our room had a bathtub. Free coffee and tea in the lobby, as well as apples and other fruits. Internet connection is slow, but available in every room.

Hotel is old and some freshness in the rooms wouldn't be extra.

When we checked in, we were surprised to be put in the "Rockstar Amadeus" suite on the top floor. It was a gorgeous suite and an incredible value for what we paid. The front desk staff was also very friendly and helpful, recommended good restaurants and gave us directions everywhere. I would definitely recommend this hotel to a friend.

The staff at the front desk was extremely helpful with their suggestions and spoke beautiful English. They were enthusiastic, young and happy to oblige.
