This is how a hotel jn Viena should look and feel like. You feel like you've been a guest at a nobel family's house.
Our room had the door and a thin wall in the breakfast area so we couldnt sleep anymore when theystarted to serve breakfast becouse of all the noise.
Bathroom is realy terrible....
Hotel Pension Baron am Schottentor has an amazing price/value, but most of the rooms are too small, even for a pension, with barely the space to get on/off the bed. We skipped the hotel breakfast as it is possible to have a great one in the many student cafés in the neighborhood.
Absence of the receptionist during nights, and the shared building, sometimes the main entrance door doesn't open easily.
I arrived at 10pm, door were closed, no one reacted on doorbell ringing. Instruction said call this number, but my phone was completely drawn... What to do in strange city?
Very good location and I really had a good service from Vitaly he mad it very friendly and he was very nice with good smile Especial thanks for him
There were no elevator inside I had to left
The Staff were exceptionally gracious and helpful, providing me maps and advice for visiting Vienna. They also printed a paper for me gratis. I will stay there again when I return to Vienna.
Value for money, close to tram and metro station
Nice personnel, overall great service.
Lack of minibar and the safe didn't work.
Location, staff, spacious.
Breakfast was limited for a 4 star hotel.
The staff The location - good
Stairs to climb
Beautiful room and great location!
Staff was rude, uninformed, booked us in a wrong room, never offered an alternative room. The room we got did not have a bathroom door, which was very inconvenient for a family with teenage children. The websire offered a junior suite, which we booked, but in hotel they told us they do not have a junior suite, so they put us in a large double bedroom with an extra uncomfortable bed for the child, just next to our double bed. Staff were extremely unprofessional, refused to issue us an invoice. Their language was inappropriate towards a customer. When I complained about the treatment and pointed to some customer rights, the receptionist rolled her eyes to show that she didn't care. I could not pay in cash, but only by using a credit card. No one offered to explain a complaint procedure, so the whole process took our entire morning. They claim to be a 4 star hotel, but it is basically a polished up hostel on a 3rd floor of a residential building. It does not have its own entrance, you have to access it through a flight of stairs and a small lift that is shared by the entire building. The walls are thin and we were woken up at 6 o'clock by the noise of a shaving machine in the room next door. The manager in the end offered to pay back the difference between the price originally listed and a family room. However, we would have never stayed there had we known that they would not provide the minimum requirements we had. Avoid this place, for a small difference in price you can stay in proper hotels in that area.
The location is excellence! You can walk everywhere.
There is no elevator from ground floot to the hotel which is located on 2/F. For someone with back problem to haul luggages up to 2/F is not fun.
I liked the location, the staff and the fact that it was very quiet.
I would have preferred to have BBC World News.
Location, views and excellent staff at the reception
Absence of a mini fridge in the room
- Excellent location. - Friendly and very helpful staff. - Good breakfast (not the best, but good). - Very comfortable room. - Good relation price/quality. - Would surely stay at this hotel again.
Small bathroom near the living room
The decoration and furnishing of the place was amazing, we really we'rent expecting such luxury. A quaint hotel in the centre of Vienna at reasonable cost a true gem.
Friendly and supportive staff for our co-traveller who messed up his hotel bookings elsewhere. The room 111 was cosy and warm with a great view.
Maybe the breakfast was a little pricey - we would have been tempted to skip that and eat in a nearby patisserie/coffee shop.
The hotel is very well located near the Rathaus. Staff was helpful. The room was big!
The room was not soundproof, so we heard everything that was going on in the hotel: people coming back late at night, tv in the living room in the morning, etc...Austere decoration.
The room we stayed in was huge and had a balcony overlooking the Votive Church. Very nicely designed. Great help with the parking to get half price at the nearby underground garage. The staff was very nice and helpful.
The bathroom was a bit outdated, compared to the very nice room it did not match in quality, although sufficient. Wifi was intermittent.
Juniorsuite was really excellent...four beds for three persons..bathroom very clean, Hotel-Location near city-centre, staff very friendly
"normal" room ist very small, but for only one night ok
The staff were very helpful and the accommodation was really nice and comfortable whilst also being in a great location within walking distance of all the sights.
Helpful staff, nice room, good location.
Fold out couch was a bit squeaky; bathroom quite cramped
