Hotel Batzenhäusl  

The hotel is built in typical Tyrol style and as such is very atmospheric. There is a spa area in the hotel which although small was a very welcome experience after a long day's drive. The restaurant food was excellent and breakfast good too.

Unfortunately for us our stay was right at the end if the Winter season and staff were just days away from their holiday break. This showed rather in a lack of attentiveness and courtesy on our arrival. NB This hotel is NOT in central Innsbruck. There is little to do in the village of Igls (but we sought peace and quiet so it was ideal for us!)

Parking at this hotel is a atrocity, all parking spots are made for cars from the 1970's, if you are driving a modern vehicle you need not to come to the hotel late because you wont find a place to park onsite.

Jacuzzi and hammam were nice in the afternoon, but not sure why they are only available in the afternoon / evening. This meant they were often busy.

The staff were appalling. Very unprofessional and unhelpful. The desk was unmanned 90% of the time and the bell on the desk one is supposed to ring to gain staff's attention was not answered promptly, if at all, leaving guests waiting and ringing the bell for up to ten minutes each time (this happened at check in and at least once every day we were there). Staff would then wander back to the desk slowly smelling strongly of cigarettes or with a cup of coffee in hand, very disinterested in the customer or their job which is very frustrating to paying customers. The wifi DOES NOT WORK in some rooms and the hotel should not advertise as having free wifi available in all areas. I booked and paid for a deluxe room but ended up with a standard room at the back of the hotel, with no view and no reduction in the price I paid. Very poor service. This is also mentioned in other people's reviews. The wifi code you are given lasts only 12-24 hours, depending on what the uninterested staff feel like providing. This is frustrating as your wifi service is cut off daily without warning and you have to get another code from the unmanned desk, which as mentioned, can take quite some time and puts you in a position of having to deal with the staff again. The breakfast was mostly adequate if you just wanted cereal, but as previously reported by other booking.com users, most food stuffs are not replenished so if you are not first to breakfast you will miss out. Also don't bother with the bread rolls / pastries etc as they are always too stale to enjoy. Fresh bread is not too high an expectation at breakfast time, one would have thought. Overall I would not recommend this hotel. You are likely to have a far more enjoyable and welcoming experience elsewhere in this quaint little town.

The front desk was extremely helpful. Breakfast buffet was good. Rooms were a good size, 3 people in our room and we had plenty of space for all our bags. Rooms are very clean, bright and spacious. Very easy to get to Innsbruck via bus. The bus ride was 15-20 minutes, inexpensive and I didn't have to find parking in Innsbruck.

Dinner staff is extremely slow and sometimes inattentive. WIFI didn't reach our bedroom, I had to sit in the lobby or on the stairwell. Parking was interesting, not too many spots outside. You had to get back from activities early enough to get a spot in their free garage. Make sure you park backing in, otherwise you might not be able to get out in the morning.

Nothing, terrible hotel, worse staff.

This was the worst treatment I have ever had at any hotel across the world. There was an accidental double booking. They waited until the next day to bring it up and then insisted that we pay double and also apologise to the receptionist for asking why it was not brought up the previous day. Booking.com sorted it out. The rooms are old faded and most fittings are falling apart. Sheets were dirty. The lift is dangerous and the staff is extremely unpleasant. They lied to us about dinner not being served, finding several people in the restaurant after we walked back from another. You can pick just about any other establishment randomly and do 500% better. They also tried to fraudulently change the invoice to get us to pay more. This is the first negative review I have written on Booking.com but they surely deserve it.

Confortable room with nice view to the mountains.

Stayed 5 nights, enjoyed the beautiful views of the snow capt mountains from our balcony and a meal in the hotel restaurant was good the town of Iglis is very quiet with just half a dozen restaurants around and not much else.Try the Italian down the road very good.

Breakfast coffee and hot food was always cold and bread was stale even after I complained the following day's were no better.

Reception lady was helpful at the very end when we finally got a discount for different room type we deserved.

I booked a "suite" but that did not stop the reception clerk to give me keys to "normal" room just like that (which was really bad due to proximity of the elevator and the noise it makes). At my request we were moved to slightly better room (still "normal" which is two classes below Suite). I was advised that this normal room was a "deluxe" which proves to be a lie when I look back at room photos on booking.com. The reception clerk was really surprised when I asked for the price adjustment (seriously). Then he was claiming that "suite" is almost the same as "normal" room and there is almost no price difference (there is about 20%-25%). All in all we paid less but after some odd negotiations. Really sneaky. Apart from that the hotel is really old and far from claimed 4* standard (maybe in 70'). Parking is not big enough to accommodate all cars. Breakfast is ok'ish but coffee is a disaster. Really bad value for money.

Location, service, value for the money spent.

Good location to go to city Innsbruck and to the mountain skiing. Quiet and cozy room and wonderful Sauna. Friendly staffs.

Surrounded with beautiful nature. We were lucky to have a room with the balcony overlooking gorgeous view of the mountain and the countryside

The female receptionist that greeted us was not very friendly, she appeared to be more interested in her hair than answering our questions. The other staff were also not very friendly. Otherwise, this hotel would be perfect!

A big room. Good bed. Excellent bedding. Bath tub. Sauna and jacuzzi. Free parking. Price comparing to the quality. Maybe it's not a real 4 stars hotel (as I mean), but for 60€ per night, it's really good

Problems with wifi. I cannected my phone, but computer not. This wifi is free, but if somebody choosing the hetel because of this, he will be really disapointed.

Very nice and cosy hotel. The view from the terrace is amazing. Breakfast is excellent. There are no problems with car parking, at least in autumn.

The staff is very friendly, there is free parking space and free wi-fi. Our room was at the back side but with a balcony and a soothing forest view. The room was clean and comfortable and it was neither too big nor too small. We did not need A/C because we were visiting Innsbruck in September. The breakfast was satisfying, the restaurant room is big and there is a lovely garden where you can eat in good weather. Igls- where the hotel is located- is approximately 15 minutes by bus to the city center but the bus stop is only 3-4 minutes walk to the hotel so there is no problem with the transportation at all. If we were to go to Innsbruck again, we would stay in Hotel Batzenhäusl without a doubt.

You may have a little difficulty learning how the door key works but once you figure it out, there is no problem at all.

Absolutely beautiful location. Beautiful. Staff were very, very welcoming and friendly. The restaurant is excellent - dinner was incredible - service, presentation, taste, selection. Spa, quiet area, and the view from our room was outstanding!!!

I wasn't able to stay longer.
