Bergwald  

We stayed in a generous-sized family room with a wonderful view of the valley. The breakfasts were satisfying and included jogurt, some fruit and any style eggs. Katarina was also helpful with local tourist information and made arrangements for us to take part in phenominal Tyrolian evening with music and dancing at a local restaurant - a definite highlight of our trip.

The fact that we had to pay cash for the entire 6 night stay. Then it was a bit odd that they did not have any small change on hand to be able to render the proper change when we settled the bill.

The owner is the only person on site. She alone does absolutely everything. From receptionist to breakfast, public relations, waitress, bakery, laundry, manager. You cannot escape her as she even prepares each and every cup of coffee and egg herself for the thirty guests during breakfast. Over the top politeness can be overbearing and turn rather freaky when problems arise. The owner seems to have an obsession for positive online reviews. She will beg departing guests to please, go online and write her a positive review. Even in the bill there is a final reminder, in case you did not get the message. Bedroom walls are paper thin. Very bad for noise from other rooms and corridors. You hear absolutely everything that goes on the same floor and also from the apartments above. Her elderly mother does the rounds cleaning all the rooms and apartments, up and down the three sets of stairs. .When one extended family of ten loud adults and two hyperactive children arrived to stay for a whole week - house regulars that visit every year - I felt uncomfortable with the level of noise. I kindly requested to the landlady to leave the hotel three nights before my agreed departure offering to pay 50 euro as a gesture of goodwill. She turned white and starkly refused demanding I pay 150 euro penalty payment if I wanted to leave early. This I considered to be rather desperate and greedy, especially since I had spent nine nights already paying the full 50 euro/night. The following morning I express to her my dissatisfaction at her service, asked her if she pre authorised my Credit Card. She was furious. We had a discussion and parted in very bad terms. During my ten night stay in Bergwald, I only saw ham on the buffet three times.. And no more than four slices. Pork sausage and salami you have a plenty. Supermarket milk cartons and plastic uht creamers for coffee. Walking to the village is lovely but beware it takes a normal person half an hour minimum, in winter and that is downhill.

The welcome, cosy atmosphere, unparalleled views, quiet, comfort, cleanliness, friendliness, cheerfulness, attention and service, simple but delicious breakfasts.

I loved this place. It's located up above the village, so you have a magnificent view of the valley, the mountains, the village. The hostess is well-mannered and she prepares excellent breakfasts (including home baked pies). The whole experience was great.

We are so happy with our stay at Bergwald guesthouse. Katharina (the hostess) was so nice and helpful and made the most delicious scrambled eggs we have ever tasted. She was also very good at languages ​​and knew the area very well. The room was clean and very cozy with a balcony where we could enjoy the fantastic view of Alpbach. We will get back to Alpbach, and we know where we will live :-)

The comfort of the hotel combined with the relaxed atmosphere and the astounding views were enhanced by the hospitality and welcome from the proprietor. She made my wife and I completely welcome in an excellent hotel. I recommend it for all! In addition, the dinner at the gasthaus along the road, and the breakfast at the Bergwald were top quality and excellent value for money.

Haus Bergwald is spotlessly clean and decorated in regional style. Breakfast is fabulous. Frau Katharina who runs the place is very nice and helpful. I can not imagine a better place to stay for winter holidays in Alpbach. Bergwald is located 4 minutes drive from the town's centre which is perfect - you have silence and beatiful views. Also you can find a very good regional restaurant in the nearby (200 meters). Our daughter Nina was very happy there. She said that Frau Katharina who wear regional dresses every day resembled her a princess from her fairytales. Highly recommended!

The staff was very helpful. View from the balcony was amazing! Local food (milk, butter, bread) was very tasty! Definetely come hery again.

Desayuno demasiado caro para lo que ofrecen. (8Eur.). Deberia valer como mucho 4-5 Eur. por persona.

Die Begrüssung war sehr freundlich und die Wirtin Katharina Moser ist sehr hilfsbereit und sehr um das Wohl des Gastes bemüht. Wir hatten ein sehr schönes, sauberes und ruhiges Zimmer und die Aussichten rund um das Hotel sind sehr schön. Sehr gut gefallen hat uns das kostenlose Ausleihen der Schlitten. Und im nahegelegenen Restauran Rossmoss isst man sehr gut.

Familiäre Atmosphäre, freundliche und hilfsbereite Bewirtung, hervorragendes Gasthaus in 200m Entfernung ("Rossmoos"). Super Aussicht auf den Ort Alpbach. Gutes Preis-Leistungs Verhältnis.
