Best Western Hotel Das TigraTiefer Graben 14 - 20, 01. Innere Stadt, 1010 Vienna (Show map) Very good, Score from 651 reviews“The location of the hotel is excellent and the hotel staff very helpful”
Ryszarda,
Southampton
This friendly, family-run hotel offers a very central location on a quiet street in the heart of Vienna, only a short walk from St. Stephen’s Cathedral. The spacious and modern rooms and suites of the Best Western Hotel Das Tigra are equipped with all amenities and welcome you with a pleasant atmosphere. In the morning you can enjoy a rich breakfast buffet with many typically Viennese delights. Famous Viennese sights such as the State Opera, the Hofburg Imperial Palace, the Burg Theatre and the Graben, Kohlmarkt and Kärntner Strasse shopping streets can be easily reached by foot. The Herrengasse subway station (U3 line) is only a 3 minute walk from the hotel. In 1773 Mozart and his father lived in a small apartment in the historic part of the hotel building, which dates from the 16th century, when they were invited to perform in front of the Empress Maria Theresia at Schönbrunn Palace. At the façade to the left of the hotel entrance you can see a memorial plaque commemorating Mozart’s first stay in Vienna. The friendly service and cozy atmosphere at the Best Western Hotel Das Tigra guarantee a pleasant stay in the Austrian capital. Hotel Rooms: 79, Hotel Chain: Best Western.

The location is good only few minutes away from the center. Breakfast is very standard yet it covers the basics which is good. Free wifi in the hotel which is a very good advantage. Bed sheets were not changed daily and I could see the same stain on the sheets. The staff are not so friendly.

Location is perfect and quiet. Refurbished rooms were very good with mini bar and modern bath. Breakfast is wonderful. We will definitely return to this hotel. We are experienced travelers and this is a real gem in Vienna.

It was a very pleasant stay of 5 nights. The check in was smooth, the room was clean and inviting and most importantly it was very comfortable and functional. Because the room was outside the lift, we can hear the machinery but it was not annoying. The breakfast was good value for money and offered a wide selection albeit in a tight breakfast room but that contributed to the close ambience! The waitresses were just fantastic, friendly and helpful. The locaton was great and central as most places were within walking distance. Front desk organised the tours and concert efficiently. The wifi was excellent and worked like a dream. This hotel gets our thumbs up and we will recommend to our friends.

Great location, could walk to almost anything and if not, walking distance to subway stations. We got upgraded to what I think is their jr. suite and it was very large and comfortable. The staff couldn't be more helpful. Breakfast was great. I got sick a couple of hours before we were supposed to leave for the airport and they let us stay another night at the same rate, called a doctor for me and eventually got us a driver to the airport, etc. They helped my husband with issues related to our travel insurance to rearrange our departure (needed some language translation) which was above and beyond. We would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone and stay there again ourselves. There were about 12 restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk that we found and I'm sure many more, too. Great experinece. There was nothing we didn't really like. Our only issue was to go to our room from the elevator you had to go up and down 3 steps and my husband was having severe back problems, but he handled it!

* Central position. Major sights walkable include stefansdom, hofburg, rathaus (see nightlit), burgtheater, staatsoper, kunsthistorisches and museumquartier; the belvederes and schonbrunn are further away but easily accessed by public transport - ubahn herrengasse, buses 1a,2a,3a. *Family owned and run hotel, rambling over several conjoined properties - public areas intimate rather than spacious, but bedrooms a pleasant size stylishly refurbished quite recently. * friendly staff with genuine welcome and warmth. *Excellent breakfasts, good choice including local specialities, meticulously refilled (we went at various times over the 6.30am-10.00am serving period in our 4 day stay and never felt we were casting around after others scraps) and with tables speedily and unobtrusively cleared and relaid. No restaurant but we happily followed hotel recommendation of nearby Trattoria Martinelli, in Palais Harrach at Herrengasse/Freyung, eating there twice. *Historical associations - in a city full of these, it's nice to say one stayed where Mozart first stayed in Vienna as an infant prodigy in 1762 aged 6 (there has been an inn here since the c16). Beethoven lived nearly 3 years just two doors away, 1815-1817. *Facade and street misleadingly forbidding at first sight *about 15% of central vienna's palaces and commercial buildings are undergoing major upgrades at any one time: expect unscheduled early morning demolition and build noise (usually occurs immediately after your late partynight out)..this is outwith hotel's control. *Vienna has a rather special bittersweet character, lovely but melancholy, which not all may like. If a problem, retail is wonderful therapy here.

My husband and I felt that the hotel was in an excellent location for sightseeing, visiting the museums/art galleries and we felt that we truly had good value for the cost of accommodation. The variety and quality of the breakfasts were an excellent bonus! We'd recomment this hotel to friends and know that they'd also enjoy staying there. Thank you for contributing to a wonderful visit to Vienna!

The location is fab: not on a busy street like the Ring, so it's quiet, but close enough to all the major attractions. The breakfast is really good too. Half of the hotel has apparently been refurbished and the other hasn't, and the latter is a bit smelly.

Superb location! The check-in starts at 14:00 which is a bit late for incoming travelers. You can store your luggage using the reception, but that is not as getting a room...So this is something to take into consideration when arranging your trip.

Excellent location!! Just a 5 min. Walk away & you're already on the pedestrian shopping street Graben; another 5 min. And you're at Stephansdom. Most sights in the Inner City are an easy walk from this hotel. Also liked that it was on a quiet side street. The personnel at reception were very friendly & accommodating. We booked a comfort dbl room which was decently priced, quiet, a nice size, & with a very nice bathroom. Excellent breakfast. Not much really. Just that our bed seemed a bit "lumpy" & pillows were a bit too soft (though that's just personal taste). Would have liked to have had a water kettle & tea/coffee in the room.

Great location, nice room, good breakfast. Very clean and comfortable. Had great 'free' festive punch on Saturday evening after visiting the xmas markets, close to all the central facilities. Best hotel I've stayed at in Vienna, and I've now been in 4 different ones. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
