Family-run for 3 generations, the small and elegant boutique Hotel & Villa Auersperg enjoys a quiet location in the heart of Salzburg and features a charming terrace, a spa area with a roof terrace...
Score from 850 reviews Wonderful
A small, exclusive hotel with personal flair. It consists of 2 buildings, Altstadthotel and the Residenz, located across from each other in a quiet side street of the city’s pedestrian area.
Score from 856 reviews Very good
Altstadt Hotel Stadtkrug features a very quiet and central location in the picturesque Linzergasse street, right in the historic historic quarter of Salzburg. Free Wi-Fi is available.
Score from 682 reviews Excellent
This stylish hotel is in the Linzergasse at the foot of the Kapuzinerberg hill, right in the center of Salzburg.

Location was outstanding. Staff are the best. The room was amazing.
The WiFi did not connect in my room. The common areas was fine but not in my room.
Off-site parking was a little difficult due to being at the peak of the Christmas markets, but you are able to drive on the street right in front of the hotel to load and unload during certain hours of the day
Excellent location Good breakfast
Wifi issues at the beginning but these were sorted out
A very central location within the beautiful old town. Very helpful and friendly staff. A real pleasure to stay in this hotel.
Location location location!!!! Rooms very clean and comfortable..you will not regret a booking here!!
Staff business like ..not unhelpful but not especially welcoming or friendly either!
location, 100 feet from Getriedegasse, room, bar, restaurant (food was great)
This hotel was fabulous! Just around the corner from the Christmas Market, close to all the major sites in the city, delicious breakfast, and super friendly staff to us and our children. I recommend this place for anyone traveling with small children or just for business/pleasure without. The parking garage seemed safe and well lit with easy instructions. We will definitely be back!
Parking was closer to a 10 minute walk than 5 and it was difficult to get an SUV through the streets to unload in front of the hotel.
Second time (after many years) in this hotel. The location is perfect if you want to explore the so-called "old town" area of Salzburg. Public transport (bus) is within two blocks for trips elsewhere. This is a modest but well-run hotel. Excellent value for money. Larger rooms are the so-called "executive" rooms and worth the money. Free Wi-Fi very fast. Breakfast selection is not the most extensive; hot items such as bacon and eggs are included. Would stay again.
Loved location Loved service Loved facilities Loved Salzburg
There was nothing to dislike
location and cleanest
wifi and small bed
location and very clean
small bathroom and wifi is very bad
We loved the location and the room. We would stay again if in Salzburg. Very helpful staff as well.
Very nice hotel. Excellent breakfast. Very clean. Wi-fi a bit iffy.
The smokers bar downstairs.
My husband and I visited Salzburg for the first time, and the hotel was a perfect place to stay to enjoy the city at it's best. We loved the location in the heart od Old Town....everything was within walking distance.....great sites, shopping, restaurants. Transportation couldn't have been any closer. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast in the morning was buffet style, with many items to choose from. We had a lovely room and the bathroom was quite large and very clean. No tea or coffee in the room
This is a place which was designed with great care and executed in the highest quality. The location could not be better, the staff was extremely helpful, the breakfast outstanding. Both our American friends and we loved the Hotel Elefant and will certainly return.
The location of the Hotel Elefant was excellent...... easily accessible to all the major sights in the old district. Our room was nicely appointed and quiet, which is what we asked for. Breakfast included was wonderful! The hotel's restaurant was equally good.
We were well pleased with our stay at the Elefant, and we will return when we revisit Salzburg.
Location, staff, comfort, food,
Had a little delay on the excellent food the last night. Staff knew it and responded
Location Heart of the city Central to tourist areas and bars High quality accommodation
Abrupt desk staff Breakfast was good but uninspiring Slow lift
This hotel is situated at the start of the pedestrian zone in old Salzburg, it is easy to find, the personnel is very nice, and there is a restaurant on site. Breakfast is of excellent quality (scrambled eggs with chive, bacon, cheeses, breads, croissants, juices, cake, yogourt, fruits, etc...) The bonus was the beauty of the breakfast room decorated in a classic orange red color with paintings on the wall. I had a single room (505), it was not small at all, there was a desk next to the window and I could see the Salzburg forteress. This was the best view possible, while I was sending emails to family and friends. Would warmly recomment this hotel to anyone travelling to Salzburg.
This was a great hotel with a great restaurant. We arrived had lunch and how refreshing compared to the country next door that speaks the same language. Staff, especially waiters in the restaurant, we're so friendly. Rooms were small but well appointed and location can't be beat in the old town.
Not an issue with the hotel, but a word of caution. As with all hotels in old town getting there with a car is problematic after 11 am as cars are not permitted in the area. Call hotel in advance to get code to enter old town. Best entry point is immediately across the bridge at Rathaus. Parking then is easy after dropping off bags -- but you'll need the code twice to get to parkink area B under the mountain.
very hard to find - location
Good breakfast and helpful staff. Good location once you got past the bollards.
Lack of specific directions regarding getting to the hotel and through the bollards. Difficult to get to the hotel, unload the luggage and then park the car in a nearby lot.
Front desk personnel were excellent
Breakfast was mediocre at best. I don't understand why personnel thought cleaning the cappuccino machine during breakfast hours was a good idea. One server who worked during our entire three was quite rude.
Very pleasant and helpful staff, willing to go the extra mile to make your stay enjoyable. Delicious breakfast. Great location, comfortable beds.
