We got free upgrade to business suite. Location is walking distance (5min) from the train station and 10-15min from Schonbrunn. Food was good, area is very quiet so perfect for relaxing retreat.
Good breakfast. We got a very big room. Very friendly staff.
Bed was very comfortable Reasonable wi fi Big room
No Staff at check in Very difficult circular staircase for luggage, no assistance and no lift. I booked a room with a bath and there was no plug! Very annoying I had to ask for it. Floor was dirty and no slippers provided No toiletries just a soap dispenser fixed to the wall When my room was serviced my towels were not replaced! I had to ask for replacement Service and cleanliness a real let down for the price No restaurants nearby just very dirty takeaway shops It was not value for money or rated correctly I would not recommend this hotel or stay again.
Everything was perfect, especially the kindness and the helpful of the owner and the staff.
Can't really comment on the wifi as we never requested to use it. Top hotel very reasonably priced for how nice it is.
Close to public transport, free parking, nice owners, good breakfast, big room, wi-fi was ok.
No lift - and we were on 4th floor! Pictures on booking.com are misleading, the room we were promised and room we got were so different I thought we were in the wrong hotel! I was glad we only booked for one night. It was really cold in the room, bed was made for one person, there was one towel, and minibar had some empty bottles inside (?!)
Our room had 2 rooms (bedroom + living room with sofa), perfect breakfast, quiet place
A little cold in November - heating was not on.
Would highly recommend
I have used booking.com for a number of years and this is the first negative review I have had to do - very disappointed.
We did not get the 2 x superior double rooms that I had booked over 6 mths before our arrival. These rooms were also confirmed a few weeks before we arrived. Upon our arrival we were railroaded into sharing a suite with our friends. Despite our displeasure we were told that if we spent the first night inconvenienced we would have our own rooms for the next 2 nights. This did not eventuate, despite their promises. Obviously they were looking after their regular customers. I would not recommend this hotel!
Good location for my overnight stay. Walked to Schonbrunn. Upgraded to fifth-floor suite as my designated room was being worked on. Decent breakfast.
Strange entry through courtyard. Reception in breakfast room was manned by uninterested boy. No lift to my upper room but staff member hauled my bag up for me. Four stars very optimistic.
Close to train station - 6-8 Euro taxi ride. We arrived at midnight on train from Venice and our check-in card to fill out and room key was at the unoccupied reception desk. This was no problem. Big room, great bed, good TV selection, didn't use the Wi-Fi. Included breakfast was simple but good and there are lots of eating places in the area. Great shopping district for anything you want, about 500 meters from hotel. Pharmacy, electronics store if you forgot your converter, high end shops and lots of places for coffee, beer and eats. A good hotel for a reasonable cost and would stay there again.
No elevator so 45 stairs up a winding stairway to room on 3rd floor with very heavy luggage was a challenge!
liked the comfort of the bed, cleanliness of room, good WiFi
close to castle and meidling train station but a bit far from center of town. Might stay closer in next time
Value for Money Location was good, very close to the palace.
1. Breakfast was average. 2. No Welcome, the owner lady is very rude. 3. Only 1 Toilet in the 2 Bedroom Apartment.
Room was large and comfortable, staff very helpful.
Wish for elevator
Big room, good breakfast, quiet area, staff was helpful.
Room big and comfortable. Very clean. Breakfast good. Location excellent
Whole hotel was delightful, including staff. Casa d'oro da Luciani is a great place to rest after long trip. Bed was enormous both in size and comfort. Breakfast consisted high quality products. Thank you for the hospitality.
No cap in bathtub.
+ the Young girls wich Works there, they are nice, polite...
- check in was not friendly, I felt like that the older lady does not have any time for me, she just gave me a key and a map of the town and that was all - I did not get any information how to come to the city, where is the bus station, so I needed almost 30min to find a U station - I did not get any wi-fi code, it was written on the table desk, but it did not work - on booking.com was writen that I pay in the hotel, on check out I found out that they already took my money from my credit card, that is so not right, the reason was that they wanted to make sure that I Will come and they did not tell me that!!!
Ideal for short term stay if your target is to visit the Schonbrunn. Reasonably priced.
My husband and our two children styed at this hotel in July. We were impressed with the size and cleanliness of our apartment. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious - very good coffee. Pretty quiet neighbourhood - walking distance to the zoo and subway. We truly enjoyed our stay at the hotel Casa D'oro Schönbrunn and would with out hesitation choose this hotel again.
Room was great, very comfortable
Hotel was clearly in process of being done up, so few guests. The central areas were a bit desolate! However once you're in your room, it's great. Marco on front desk was really helpful. Wifi a bit patchy.
Exceptionally large and attractive room for the price. Good breakfast buffet. Good WiFi. They don't tell you the WiFi password when you check in, but the password is on the writing desk in your room.
The one person on the reservation desk disappeared right after we checked in, but the non-English speaking housekeeping lady was finally able to call a taxi for us on her cell phone, thanks to my friend's somewhat rusty German. The location is a bit out-of-the-way. It is a 15 euro taxi fare to downtown, or a short bus ride and several subway stops.
Very pleasure staff, nice accomodation.
Poor wifi conection
Nice, very spacious room, good-sized bathroom, separate toilet. Relatively good location, about a 10-15-minute walk to Meidling Bhf underground station/railway station with good and frequent connections around Vienna. Good breakfast, nothing special though.
The room was overlooked from the building across the street, had to keep the curtains drawn. The reception is located in the breakfast room - some guests might be having breakfast while others checked-out ...
Clean, big room.
Breakfast was very poor. No hot food. There were not many guests there but we had to ask for cutlery and items were not topped up. One of the two staff members we saw admitted to working 6am to midnight as they were short staffed which probably explained the poor breakfast service. While the room was big, there was no tea/coffee making facilities, not any toiletries in the bathroom, no slippers or bathrobe as stated in the description. The mini bar was a very small fridge with only a couple of drinks in the fridge and no details of prices. No dining area in the room as stated in the description. We had booked a 2 bedroom room but what we got was a large room which had no door for the bedroom area and a sofa bed for the kids and then no separate living area. I had expected 2 separate bedrooms and living area as that is what my booking said for my €190 a night! The view of the Tuscan courtyard was just of the roof so nothing which could be described as a view. Had asked to use the washing machine and was shown one to use but there was no tumble dryer only a line to dry. Then in the morning one of the staff removed our washing which was not dry. When we checked out we were charged €7.80 for one wash which I was not informed about at the start. If I had known this I wouldn't have bothered! Some distance from the U bahn station about 15 mins walk. Compared to other hotels we had stayed in it was very, very overpriced and disappointing. A misrepresentation of the description provided by booking.com and the hotel.
