City Hotel TaborTaborstraße 25, 02. Leopoldstadt, 1020 Vienna (Show map) Good, Score from 384 reviews“Great value for money hotel that includes a nice continental breakfast. Large hotel rooms, friendly and helpful staff.”
Matthew,
Sydney
The City Hotel Tabor is a comfortable hotel situated halfway between St. Stephen's Cathedral and the Giant Ferris Wheel in the Prater amusement park. Both sights can be reached in about a 15-minute walk from the hotel. Nearby public transportation connections provide you with quick and easy access to all parts of the city. The Schwedenplatz, with many subway, bus and tram lines, is only a few steps away. The hotel offers spacious and comfortable rooms, and a meeting room which can accommodate events for up to 30 people. Hotel Rooms: 95

I strongly not recommend to book this hotel because the following reasons:1- Neither air conditioner nor fan during summer time. 2-Neither wi-fi signal at room nor in the hotel lobby despite of €15 payment. 3- Price increase of 5% when paying a Vienna city tour by card . 4-Hotel location area without good restaurants nearby and not restaurant in the hotel. 5-Poor breakfast service in terms of quantity and quality .

The only good thing about this hotel is the accessibility to the city centre. The worst thing was the lack of air conditioning, with temperatures in the 30c it was like sleeping in a sauna, or should I say trying to sleep. If the window was opened the noise was unbearable. Also do not lose your room key as they will charge 85 Euros. The breakfast is poor & the staff are rude. In fact the best thing about this hotel is leaving. Lack of air con, small rooms, noisy road, rude staff, poor breakfast

My reservation and the price on booking was for 4 adults and 4 children. It has been clearly written that the price for 8 persons. But when we were cheked in, recepshion informed us that it is necessary to pay more still on 15euro for each child/night.

A fantastic location, within a short walking distance of Underground Station and City centre. Very good breakfast and pleasant waiting staff One of the male receptionists( tall, slim, with glasses) is very distant and has a superior attitude,he need to know that the customer comes first, the others are very pleasant.

It was near my daughter so convenient. Breakfast staff pleasant and quite good breakfast considering the price. We had to ask for the heating to be repaired. The room was basically cleaned but not to a high standrad. Reception staff some good some not. Room lights very dark. Difficult reception on tv for bbc. Adequate for our purpose this time. Next time we go we will go for a better standard of hotel. It is functional and that is all.

*Good (and numerous) transport connections with the airport and city center. *Book with breakfasts: quality food, reasonable selection, clean tables, good-spirited service personnel. *The bathroom was adequately equiped and had no flaws. *We asked for a quiet room, and indeed ours was quite alright in this respect. *The beds were clean and comfortable enough for a six nights stay. *Our room was very poorly ventilated, with a single window that opens only in a range of a foot (30cm). It was also probably hotter than others due to its location on the last floor. No fan in the room, and air conditioning is available _only for 15 euros per night_. Bottom line: at least in the hot and humid Viennese summers ask for another floor (and probably a fan) if you don't wish to add air conditioning to the bill. *Internet connection costs 15 euros for the entire stay. No free connection, cable or wireless, even in the reception/dining area. *The general impression is the hotel would like to charge extra for everything (however, apparently there are no _hidden_ costs). For instance, no safe is available in the room; the one at the reception is 1.5 EUR/day. And when we wished to extend our stay, the extra night was offered at a much higher rate (which was reduced when we opted for another hotel). *The room service occasionally required reminders (not enough towels or soap). *Furniture lining and carpets on the floors looked somewhat worn and bleak. Not a problem for us, though.

No specific advantages, except the location - it is about 20 -25 minutes walking to Stefansdom and 1-2 minute walking to Taborstrasse underground station, good breakfast The street was too noisy, practically is not possible to sleep when windows are open, the hotels's common area should be definetely renoviert, broken equipment in the bathroom, poor lightening in the room and bathroom, unpleasant smell everywhere in the common areas, Schwedenplatz Haltesstelle is located about 15 minutes walkin, not 5 minutes as it was advertised

The hotel is located near a metro station that makes it excellent! Other than that, it's nothing special. We stayed on the 5th floor where there are air conditioners. We were not given a remote control though because because they charge additionally for that. The room was renovated. The hallways are somewhat shabby, as well as the breakfast room.

The quiet location. Staff not friendly. No real interest in guests. Not helpful when asking for information. Their manner at the front desk left a lot to be desired. Vienna not a friendly city. English speaking people are not catered for at any level. Met only rudeness in all but 2 restaurants.

Well located within walking distance of shopping area & old centre. Close to tramline to museum quarter. Good value for money considering location. Helpful staff. Typical breakfast with selection of cereals, rolls, hams, hard boiled egg and cheeses included in the price. We had a spacious room and bathroom.
