Absolutely the worse hotel we have stayed at in years! We are a professional couple in our 40's and are Priority Club members as well. We have stayed at numerous Crowne Plaza's and others in their chain. This hotel was awful! The staff was beyond rude! They were dismissive, unresponsive and lazy. No one was available to help with luggage and no luggage cart to do it ourselves. Our room was gross!! Stains on furniture & bedding, mold in bathroom (that they painted over in places rather than clean), maid service was pitiful - no towels left the second day of our stay. No WiFi, severely outdated appliances (tv, hairdryer, coffee machine, etc.). It was so bad we checked out early and found another hotel for the remainder of our stay. Never again!

Having booked a classic double room (very nice picture on the Internet) we were put into the smallest room I've ever been in (I served in the army) with two single beds (travelling as a couple!!)! In addition, we found hair and dirt all over the room (we had to clean the toilet before we even thought about using it). After complaining we were given a nicer room (finally the one from the Internet-picture) with king-size bed. Still, putting a young couple in such a room is unforgiveable.

I really enjoyed the hotel. Staff was great and the restaurants inside the hotel were perfect. The hotel swimming pool looked big on the internet pictures. In person the swimming pool was kind of small compared to the pictures.

We paid a high price for this stay because of the festival so my advice is go at a different time and the hotel might seem more personal. However it would still rate fairly high as it is a lovely structure . We were not told that the pool was closed before arrival. It says in its web site, also, that there is a kitchenette but there is not and for families this could be important.Very impersonal hotel and the deskstaff are all new and inexperienced but very polite and try their best as do all the staff.

We chose this hotel because I have stayed at the plaza in Rotterdam. This hotel did not match up to the plaza in decor downstairs, but the room was great, the bed was comfortable, the Pitter Keller had a lovely atmosphere, friendly service and good food. We got the room for £100 and it was a bargain. We walked round the city all day and the old town was so accessible that we went back in the evening.

We were enroute to our destination and wanted to spend 24 hours in Salzburg. The location was within walking distance to where we wanted to go and gave a general feel for the city.

The hotel is very well located (only a 5 minute walk to Castle Mirabell) and my room (316) was big and confortable. The spa was also a plus and the 10 Euro breakfast buffet a good value for money. When we arrived with lots of luggage there was no one to help us carry them into the hotel and upstairs. Also I inquired about the hotel restaurant for dinner and they said that it would be open until 10pm. When we went down to eat, the main restaurant was closed until Jan.6th (it was the 4th) and our only choice was to dine at their Bier cellar bar. When we arrived there, a very grumpy and arrogant waitress complained that we had no reservations for a 9 people table. I explained what hapenned and I though they were complaining because the bar was full. But to our surprise, the bar was almost empty and they probably didn´t like because they wanted to close earlier (we arrived at 9pm)!

Good location. Close to all amenities. Clean. Good buffet breakfast. Good size room (Junior Suite). Excellent food at the hotel restaurants. Room cleaning service is not very good. Shampoo/conditioners and refills of coffee/hot chocolate were not performed on a daily basis.

The beds are great and big. The free mineral water is a nice treat. The pillow spray is a cool idea. The rooms are spacious. The fitness/spa centre is small but has a lot to offer. The price of the breakfast is ridiculously high. Free wireless internet in the rooms could be expected from such a hotel.

Good location & nice restaurants as well as quaint bar (The Pitter, a must see in Salzburg). Our group enjoyed walking & we were one black from the beautiful gardens and a 10 minute walk from the old town. Rooms has mini bars (which were a bit over priced, but a great option & good choices). Fee for internet. We stayed at smaller, less expensive places on our trip which offered free wifi. It was rather annoying to have to pay for wifi at a more 'luxurious' hotel.

Fair accommodation within walking distance from the old town, few steps away from the Mirabelle gardens. I got pretty much what I expected, although one of the two rooms we booked was really small.

I got a big bathtub, long enought for two and for the legs to stretch. There are 2 nice cafees for breakfast just around the corner towards the old town. They have a bar that looked nice. The bus stops just outside, for getting to the train station or to the old town. It was cute of them to give scent samples to put on the pillow so you sleep better. If you come by car this is probably a good choise, so you can park the car close by (not possible in old town). It is too close to the railway station. Too much trafic outside. They charge you for Internet access. Rooms were a bit heavilly decorated with ornamented lamps etc, but this is of course down to individual taste if you like that or not. Expensive. You could tell that it was an old hotell not only by the furniture but also thanks to the ventilation system, first it smelled of woodsmoke in the rooms and hallway because someone had made a bon-fire in the inner courtyard, then it smelled of food in the room, presumably from the restaurant kitchen.

The staff spoke English very well. They were curteous and very friendly. The location was perfect for sight seeing. I will recommend this hotel to friends and family. The only drawback is parking is a little on the expensive side (18 euro/day). However, small price to pay for an incredible location.
