Only a 10-minute walk from the Opera and the lively Naschmarkt Quarter, this hotel occupies a historic 18th-century building. It offers a free internet station and a rich buffet breakfast.
Score from 2004 reviews Very good
very nice breakfast, pleasent receptionist
If you need a cheap hotel in Vienna, you can choose Cryston, but do not expect anything else than a room. The internet connection is open and you might experience shortages. The location is good if you are in transit in Vienna by car.
The room was perfect with everything you could ask for. It is right across the metro station. The staff was good, specially Stephan (I am not sure about the spelling though :-( )
I can't think of anything, except it got a little difficult to find the place, specially because even the Police staff couldn't guide us to the location. But once we reached, we realized it was right opposite a metro station.
O hotel é limpo, quarto amplo e confortável. Staff atencioso e preparado. Clean hotel, big and confortable room. Kind and prepared staff.
um pouco longe das atrações, mas bem em frente a uma estação de metrô e tram. Café da manhã muito caro. a little bit far from the main turist attractions. but it in front of a tram/subway station. breakfest is too expensive.
Hotel is about 10mins away from the Ringstrasse if taking metro and about 15mins away from the airport shuttle stop. Good choice of continental breakfast too.
Lighting in the room, very poor.
The staff is very kind and helpful, the location is pretty good, right outside of the metro station and the tram line, the wifi was ok.
The room was not clean and the furniture were quite old and noisey
Room was really big and comfortable.
Only problem, one employee of the hotel was not so polite. However, the other person, was really polite and nice.
Great food, clean room, comfortable beds, very close to the metro station
Close to subway
Expensive parking plot ( there is no garage )
A very nice, cosy, big room.
One receptionist was a bit arrogant.
We stayed only for one night in Vienna. For us the most important thing was to have good access to transport means and this is what we found for the best price we could imagine. The hotel is less than 2 min away from the Metro station (Margarettenguertel). The center (stephansplatz) can be reached in less than 10 min; the same for Schoenbrunn. We paid less than 50 eur/night so what more to expect. The big room we got was very clean and so was the bathroom. We got a double bed (1 bed with 2 matraces) with spotless white sheets. The matraces were a bit soft but we slept very well. The heating worked very fine. The room has also fridge and safe deposit. The Wi-Fi worked perfectly. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying for one/ two nights who is interested in a decent place to sleep and to visit a lot rather than spend the whole day at a five-star hotel.
As mentioned by other tourist, the room's window face the street and it might get noisy if you want to sleep with window open in the hot season. Still, it's really ok if you sleep with the window shut (as we did now in January). The hotel would need some "esthetic" improvements (redecorating, new furniture, etc), but this was not important for us for only one night stay. Our room didn't have A/C, so I'm not sure if during the summer it gets hot.
Breakfast is good and varied. It's worth the price. The hotel is very close to the subway (across the street) and also Mariahilferstrasse (walking distance). The "exclusive" (renovated) rooms provide good comfort. The cleaning and breakfast staff were friendly and skilled in foreign languages.
When we arrived, we were told we had to pay an extra 10 euro/night to upgrade to a better room (the one that we were expecting from the pictures), in the renovated part of the hotel. (We were advised to do so, because the renovated rooms were cleaner and had better heating).
all was ok, it takes 10 minute with underground to city centre
The staff is very friendly and helpful. the room is big, clean and comfortable, facilities are new. Close to the city centre, public transport available.
The most important is that the hotel is clean and the staff matches the level of better hotels. The hotel is also conveniently located if you are travelling by car and also need a public transport connection to the city center.
This hotel is very very old. It's definitely not a 3 star. I got the room for only 30 eur which I find the maximum value worth the service. It is also a bit noisy from the nearby rooms and the corridor as well as from the water pipe system. Poor mattress and pillow.
Big room, we got badewanne from a request.
Was different kind of a toilet in the pic.. But everything was clean and ok.
Breakfast. Friendly. Wifi so good. It was good stay. They are super
Great hotel! Rooms very big, clean and cosy.Location is great. Just across are U-bahn (U4) and tram (6,18) stations. Burgerking and petrol station near the hotel. All personel in a hotel is great. Nice and helpfull for all our demands. Definitelly great place to stay!!!
No complaints at all!
Excellent location (just near to U-bahn), clean room, facilities, comfortness
Great value for money Cleean room
obscure hotel parking with gravel and muddy soil No shower curtain, hard to shower without spraying the whole bath No direct access to the tiny elevator- eg altogether 2 sets of stairs must be climbed to reach 2nd floor (not fun with a heavy suitcase) A confused young receptionist that wanted to charge us twice for the stay
My experience at this hotel was wonderful. Good and new room, rich breakfast, availability of parking, friendly staff. All in all one very nice and balanced hotel, and very important, perfectly located.
pretty clean and comfortable. Heating and bath tub were working well
no direct connection from Meidling station. Staff with long hair was not kind.
Poor management (guy wanted to charge us extra for his bad computer skills and mistaking departure), poor quality of beds, cold bathroom, smelly rooms. But I guess we should not expect anything better. It is not the cheapest hotel for such low quality though.
The only good thing about the hotel is the stuff, people working there.
First of all we didnt have any issues during our stay so my comments are pure to what we paid and what we got. First of all the hotel has around 50 rooms and only around 10 of those rooms are new. The rest of the hotel is like from 50s really spooky, torned carpets in the whole-ways, old elevator for 2 persons only, rooms and the bathrooms are old very very old. The photos on bookings are from the new rooms and when we arrived they asked for 10 eur more per night if we want to stay in the new rooms. So what is published on bookings and the pricing are not really what they are giving. The parking is not a private parking . It is basially a yard with metal garage which is always opened. No camera, no light, no ramp basically zero security. The location yes it is close to the train station but be aware after it gets dark you see 10, 20 people sitting in front of it and it is pretty scary to be there especially if you are with children.
