The Edelweißhof is located in the picturesque village of Birnbaum in the heart of the Lesach Valley, a natural paradise between the Carnic Alps and the Lienz Dolomites.

This charming hotel is ideally suited for every kind of vacation, surrounded by a beautiful and peaceful landscape.

The rich breakfast buffet is already included in the price. In summer you can have breakfast on the terrace. In the afternoon coffee and cake are served there. End your evening in the hotel bar with a drink and a game of darts.

Enjoy the beautiful views of the surrounding mountains on the grounds. There you can also find a playground and a tarmac lane for summer curling.

The Wolayersee lake is considered to be Carinthia’s most beautiful and idyllic mountain lake. It is a popular hiking destination for many vacationers and locals. Located at 6,430 ft above sea level at the shore of the lake, the Wolayersee hut is open and serviced from mid-June to the beginning of October. An easy hiking trail takes you from Birnbaum to the hut through the Wolayertal valley.

We booked a larger room, but I think the normal room would have been more then big enough and wouldnlt have faced the road but the mountains(sun side). Very good spot to start walking around on all kind of mountain walking trails or even more. Good parking possibilites and very friendly staff that will do anything they can to make you enjoy your stay. We had a room facing the road, Since you are very close to this road this means the noise starts early (06.30) the road is steap so engines have to work hard. The owner kindly met us at Oberdrauburg train station at 8 pm on the 31st of December and took us to the hotel free of charge, which was very helpful as it is quite difficult to get from the train station at this time. We liked the owners, their hospitality and the neighborhood (wonderful view, mountains, river and numerous paths to wander around). I can imagine that it is fabulous in summer there. Anche il bagno era grande, aveva sia la vasca che la doccia. Veramente bella! E' la seconda volta che vengo qui e avendo una bimba piccola, lo staff e' stato molto disponibile nell'assecondare le nostre esigenze. Addirittura ci hanno offerto una camera tipo mini appartamento allo stesso prezzo della matrimoniale standard. Meglio di cosi' non si puo'!! Non vorrei parlare di negativita' ma di cose un po' da migliorare: la colazione e' sempre stata ottima ma in questi giorni ho notato qualche portata a cena che poteva essere migliorabile con poche mosse.
