Relatively clean place, quite big rooms
Not in the city centre, even quite easy to reach by bus; moreover, you need to prepare your own bed.
Receptionist is ok, breakfast is ok. Hotel is big enough and clean.
Too...hard to be found and it's very far away from the city center. I even thought maybe I'll tramp the streets in Salzburg that night if I had not been so lucky met an very kind grandpa to lead me there through a long distance from a bus station. As for me, the grandpa was my lighthouse in Salzburg! I gave him a China knot(Lucky Knot) as a thankful gift and he said he'll remember me even years later while see the lucky knot...so pure a feeling, so kind a people...With farewell smiles and a bear hug, we said goodbye to each other. I'll remember you too, dear granpa. I wish you have a very happy and lucky life forever! All the best to those people who had helped me selflessly during my trip to Europe, no matter in Switzerland, or Liechtenstein or Italy or Slovenia or Austria...!
I chose 6 bed in room. But When I arrived there, I have to sleep in double bed with someone. I've never seen him before but i have to sleep!
friendly stuff, comfort and spacy room, big parking
The night staff lady was really sweet and the fellow travelers were friendly. Breakfast was included in my booking and was adequate, nice to have a espresso maker but I bet its a hassle when they are busier. This place is an easy bus ride from the old town and there is a natural foods market really close. The night person also recommended a really great restaurant with good prices and a live band.
Hostel is part of a school, the students arrive at about 7:30 and it is impossible to keep them quiet. I am an early riser so I didn't mind but when I returned to take a nap mid-day they were having a paramedics class on the front steps which I had to push through and then they were right below my window. The dorm rooms have an inner and outer door which helped keep the noise of other travelers movements in the hallway out of my room.
Smell inside room is terrible, internet is free only for 2 hours for 1 device, no real own private parking on place. You better sleep in the car than in their double room
Helpful staff Real good breakfast, better than expected for such a hotel
Little comfort, but adequate for the prices / type of accommodation Difficult to find Limited office hours of reception - I had to take my bag with me on checkout day and could not leave it there
This youth hostel worked out really nicely for me. It was away from the main tourist sites, but close to a few bus stops which made getting to the train station, main tourist areas, and Berchtesgaden easy. There were a lot of youth there, as would be expected. They seemed to be attending courses in classrooms at the hostel, and I had no issues with them. There were three markets relatively close, but they all closed rather early (between 5pm and 7:30pm). There was a washer and dryer that cost Euro 3 each to use in the basement of the hostel (but even after spending Euro 6 on the dryer, many of my clothes were still not dry and I resorted to hanging them up). The big lockers in the dorms were nice, but a bit difficult to unlock. There were a decent number of plugs around the room (but not one for each person unless you count the bathroom ones). Two beds in the middle of the room were adjoining, but there were never more than five of the six beds full during my stay. Breakfast was a buffet of bread, cereal, yogurt, and canned fruit - served 7am-10am. Reception sold sandwiches, beer, and bus tickets. Wireless internet (which only worked in the lobby) was Euro 2 for 240 minutes unless you booked on booking.com and then it was free. My room had a table with four chairs. The hostel lobby had plenty of space to sit and work.
The room was fine, except it would be better if the sinks were not be in the room with the shower as this makes it impossible to get ready in the morning if someone is showering and wants the shower room to themselves. The breakfast room was pretty empty both morning when I ate around 9am.
Really spacious and clean rooms i stayed in 6 bed female dormitory and i had a good stay.
Rooms were big and comfortable
Wifi good but only at reception, We arrived late and they gave us sheets to put them (so the room wasn't "ready" ) Indeed it was the cheapest hotel in Salzburg but for what they offered i think it was overpriced.
The hostel is located right next to a wooded area that leads to the lake. VERY quiet area. Breakfast was good. They had a 24 hour bar at the front desk
WiFi only available in lobby, and was not that fast. It is a good 10 minute walk to the bus station, and MAKE SURE you know which bus stop you are at. You can walk the river into town, which is lovely, and you should do it at least once, but its about 4-5km. Hope you like kids, the hostel also houses a high school, and right across the street from kindergarten and primary school
- reasonable price - breakfast included but the breakfast is not good
- when we arrive, there's completely no person in the hostel, we don't know what to do with our luggage
The place is very neat and the staff were accommodating. The structure and the furniture is superb as compared to other places I had visited as hostels
I was just at Eduard Heinrich haus for one night but it felt very safe and peaceful. The location is a bit far from the center, but that just means you get the treat of staying near the beautiful woods. The center is easily accessible by a short walk and a bus. The staff was lovely and there were in room lockers which was really convenient. The only thing that wasn't entirely pleasant was that there was a maze of hallways that made the place feel big and empty. Overall I have absolutely no complaints.
Nothing comes to mind.
Staff were very helpful and the room was neat and clean.
Hostel only had one shower and restroom shared by 6 people. During peak time it can be difficult. it was a nightmare to find the hostel as it was far away from the city centre. It's not value for the money as you can find similar hostel in city centre for the same price.
After staying alone at apartments we enjoyed this place as there were lots of families with kids and they played. It is big, wifi good, brekky good, great staff that spoke english, games avail for kids and outdoor area too. A nice, comfy reception/hang out room,
Had to put our own sheets on. No kitchen for guests to use so no kettle. We bought one to take around on our travels.
Comfortable and Spacious Room ! Very Clean Toilet. Breakfast was Good. The Lightings and Flooring was good. Helpful receptionist
First day, it was difficult to find the location. (But Its only a 20 Minutes travel by bus no 3 from Main Train station. The nearest bus stop is Herrnau)
My kids were thrilled to meet another travelling family and play board games. Clean and organized.
A bit of a ways out of the centre. Fine for drivers.
I didn't get the free wifi until I met another staff.
weak wifi, location (really hard to find the place)
- Staff was super helpful and super friendly - Great price for a popular city during busy season - Really great breakfast - A spacious in-room closet I could lock my items in during the day - Bus stop less than 400 meters away - Grocery store less than 400 meters away. - Provided sheets for the bed
- It was difficult to find initially and a bit far from the most popular city attractions. - Obnoxious roommates who keep the light on from 1:30 a.m. - 3 a.m. (perils of sleeping in a shared room). - The hallway light was on a timer, so it was often off, which was a bit creepy.
uncomfortable, not that clean
Bit far out from city
