In summer, a huge range of activities is available, including swimming, fishing, canoeing, scuba diving, mountain biking, Nordic walking, hiking, climbing, paragliding, golf, white water rafting and caving. In the winter months there is fantastic skiing and snowboarding on the Krippenstein and the Dachstein West ski region.
The Dachstein Caves:
There are 3 natural caves open to the public, forming one of Austria's most significant natural monuments - the Ice Cave (Eishöhle), the Mammoth Cave (Mammuthöhle) and the Water Cave (Koppenbrüllerhöhle). Each cave is spectacular, and it is well worth visiting all 3. In addition to the regular guided tours, it is possible to opt for adventure tours for children as well as adults. All the caves offer English-speaking tours.
