Very clean, quiet and nice place, cute room, Wi-Fi works well, perfect location. From the train station take the bus number 5 and get off on the station named "Justizgebäude (D)", turn right and walking 1 minute from there on the left side you will see Gasthaus Hinterbrühl.
Simple but clean and spacious room that was well located for all of the city highlights. We had a 1st floor room and the separate bathroom and toilet is shared with 2 other rooms but we never had to wait for either and they were very very clean. Very pleased with this guest house - it does not pretend to be anything other than simple, clean and affordable. The free Salzburg fridge magnet on checkout (which is 10am) was a nice touch!
Excellent location, friendly staff, restaurant on site had excellent local cuisine. In retrospect I would have preferred a different room (not facing street, less squeaky floor) but the advertised room & low rate prompted me to book.
Did not like there was a change to our booking to no breakfast included and reduction of rate was only 5 euros in total/night.
Great location very close to the castle and cathedral. Room was small but clean, tidy and quiet. Wifi worked well. Good value for money.
Good location, very close to the old town. Near to one bus stop.
When I arrived, the already had discounted the value of my stay on my credit card. Smell of smoke.
Space, facilities, view, quiet, position. Close to trolley bus to train. Easy walk to restaurants and shops.
58 steps up with bags.
Location, comfort, tidyness.
Our room with a balcony overlooking the square was fine
Access is lousy; dingy, dark stairwell and hallway to room; there are no public spaces; check was by ringing a poorly marked buzzer then meeting the manager in the hallway up a steep, narrow flight of stairs; the house is listed as no smoking, but the hallways were smoky masked by smell of cleaners or spray "freshen ears". Access to our room was creepy; the room itself was fine.
Excellent location, friendly staff, spacious rooms
location is excellent staff helpful - even let me check in at 4am rooms cheery and comfortable
The room was clean and comfortable. The square it is located on is quite charming (although they were doing early morning construction outside of our window starting at 7AM. I assume that will be done soon. The staff checked us in and then we didn't see her until we checked out, an aspect that we enjoy but others who need more questions answered might be frustrated by the lack of availability. Overall we were satisfied but for our next visit we will likely search a little more for another accommodation. Also, the city is very small so "location" is not all that important.
The price seems high considering the room has no kitchen available and a shared bathroom. Salzburg is an expensive city to begin with so an accommodation that has a kitchen available to it could save travelers a significant amount of money.
- Good offer for the price, as generally it's hard to find good bargain in Salzburg - Excellent location just within the old city walls, minutes to get to the center - The building is from 1378 so there's a bit of history there :) - Great view from the windows on the square - Bakery and local pu just downstairs - Very nice owner (gave us a magnet as a present, was very sweet of him) - Shared facilities were fine and wasn't a big of a deal
- Don't accept American Express, just Visa/Mastercard (or cash:) - We came very late and actually were told that they kept the room till 18:00 only unless pecifically notified about the late arrival. Luckily, our rooms weren't taken :)
Was amazing considering the building is nearly 800yrs old. The things those walls have seen.
Great location at an unbeatable price (with shared bathroom though).
When we arrived, I had to call the receptionist by phone as the reception was closed (at 8 pm). There was no bell and no message left, it was confusing.
The room is good and clean
The price is too expensive and the staff is rude and unfriendly, can't communicate with her.
Easy access from airport, station and good bus connection to everywhere. Mirabelle garden is 10-15 mins. walk away. Wifi is good. A restaurant in the ground floor, a cafe nearby...for breakfast.
Directly on the street, very noisy from morning till midnight and you have to keep the window open in summer, because rooms are not air conditioned.
Great location in the old town, close to tourist attractions and good bus links to the train station. Ring on the doorbell outside when you arrive and someone will come to check you into your room. Make sure to take note of the check-in times. My single room was quite small but cosy with its own sink. Free WiFi with good signal.
Noise from roadworks outside was disturbing in the early morning and you can hear doors in the building being opened and closed.
Spacious room and comfortable bed. Wi-fi network was consistent and didn't have issues. Staff was friendly and helpful. Good location and quiet.
Sharing a bathroom with two other rooms.
Good location Clean rooms
Somewhat noisy from outside street and other rooms
I liked this place a lot! Price is high for a shared bath, but it is a really nice room- spacious, relaxing, with nice furniture and décor. I loved the details like chocolate and slippers for check-in. It's near all the sights and has a nice view of the plaza, unfortunately under construction but noises were not a problem. This place was one on-suite bathroom away from feeling like a four-star hotel! The owners did a great job of making it comfortable, beautiful and cozy at the same time.
Some woman walked into our room at 7 in the morning which was really unsettling, didn't sleep well after that. A deadbolt on the inside of the door for guests would be nice. Restaurant/ bar here closes Sundays and every other Saturday; honestly there's not a lot of restaurants or bars in the altstadt! We loved the Greek/ Wine bar across the plaza though.
I loved the room, it was much larger than I was expecting. The bed was very comfy, there was a sink in the room too which was useful in the morning as the toilet and shower were down the hall.
Not having a private bathroom was the only downside but as I was staying only 1 night this wasn't an issue. However I wouldn't have liked this if I had stayed any longer.
fast check out
The hotel is in a great location off Kaigasse, an easy walk to all the great art in the old quarter. The bed was comfortable, the room had good windows and air, even a little balcony above the square.
I started out badly here because the construction worker digging just outside the hotel told me the hotel was closed. He was mistaken, but it was difficult to get to the entrance. Customer service is not working well here. The manager carried my bag up the two flights of stairs, but that is all he did for me. The safe in the room did not work properly. The table on the balcony was filthy. I had to find the manager or his wife for every problem--they were not readily available in the reception. When I arrived, the water was turned off due to some repairs, but they did not inform me. Despite signs about not smoking, the stairwell reeks of smoke. The front door is locked at night from the inside, which can hardly follow any fire code. Nice hotel that needs better management.
An interesting building in anexcellent city-centre position
