This family-run guesthouse is located in the beautiful Kaprun valley, only 1.2 km from the cable car station to the Kitzsteinhorn glacier ski area. The free ski bus stops right in front.

Gasthof Zur Künstleralm is an ideal starting point for many types of winter sports. The Maiskogel family ski area is 2.5 km away, and the Schmittenhöhe ski area in Zell am See 10 km. Cross-country skiers can access the Pinzgau run in Kaprun. All ski areas can be reached with the free ski bus.

The owner himself is responsible for the cuisine. The junior manager is responsible for the reception, pampers you in the restaurant, and is available at all times to answer any questions.

A rich breakfast buffet is offered in the morning, while in the evening a varied 4-course dinner with a choice of dishes is served. Once a week a farmer’s buffet, an Italian buffet, and a fondue evening are hosted.

The Künstleralm has a separate breakfast room (non-smoking), a TV room, a playroom for children with tabletop football, a house bar, a restaurant, and the rustic "Schistadl-Stüberl" with an open fireplace.

Every afternoon (except on Saturdays) the use of the sauna and the infrared cabin is included in the price.

Gasthof Zur Künstleralm offers wireless LAN in the entire building.

In 1929 the current owner's grandfather built the "Künstleralm", which was formerly called "Limberg-Wüstlau" and later became the restaurant "Zum Joggl".

Food & beverage

The owner, who has worked as a master butcher and chef for over 40 years, serves local as well as Austrian and international dishes.

Breakfast:
The rich breakfast buffet is served daily from 07:15 to 10:00. If you wish to take your breakfast earlier, there is also the possibility to take a "thermo breakfast" to your room the night before.

Half-board:
You will be given a menu card at breakfast, letting you choose between 2 3-course meals for dinner. In winter there is a menu card where you can choose between 2 4-course meals for dinner.

Additionally in winter:
- Fondue evening once a week
- Traditional farmer’s buffet once a week (as much as you can eat)

Area information

The European Sports Region Zell am See offers a wide range of sporting options. The Zell am See/Kaprun golf course, the largest in the Alps, is 10 km away from the hotel.

The breathtaking reservoirs and hydropower plants in Mooserboden (Kaprun) afford a singular view of 3,000 m high mountains. The Krimml basin with its waterfalls and the Grossglockner High Alpine Road are both worth a visit.

The old town of Salzburg (about a one-hour drive away) is a must for culture lovers, while sports enthusiasts will want to head for the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier to ski and snowboard.
