This traditional, family-run hotel is located in the heart of the picturesque town of St. Gilgen, only a few steps away from the shore of Lake Wolfgang. Recently renovated and enlarged, Hotel Gasthof zur Post was built in 1330 and served for a long time as a coaching inn. The foundation and parts of the façade are from the Middle Ages. The building's special charm is reflected in its massive stone walls and floors, the traditional basements and vaults, and the precious wall paintings. At the Gasthof zur Post you can experience the very special ambience of a traditional atmosphere combined with innovative design. Classic elements such as green loden, a great deal of wood and deer antlers are integrated into the rooms in an original way. Many rooms feature impressive open bathrooms. Enjoy a rich selection of delicious regional and Austrian specialities, traditional fare and seasonal delicacies such as asparagus. The freshly caught fish from Lake Wolfgang is especially popular. All ingredients come from the Salzkammergut region. Over the years Gasthof zur Post has hosted many famous personalities. that is beautiful hotel in a amazing place. Service was excellent and this 600 years house is renoveret in a reaaly good way that feels you live in a past centurys. It is clean and the food from the resturant was good I stay in a off season and there was many shops and rest's closed

Vooral het vriendelijke personeel. De kamer was uitstekend, maar wij hadden liever een douche getroffen dan een bad. Wanneer je ouder bent dan is een bad gevaarlijk. Ook de wc's zijn voor ouderen altijd te laag. De afzuiging liet ook te wensen over. Wij hebben zelf een bus luchtverfrisser gekocht. De eetkamer in de buiten serre vonden wij heel leuk. De eetkamers binnen achter zijn kwa uitstraling koud. De deur naar de grote feest zaal tochten en ging steeds open. Maar daar heb ik mijn stoel maar voorgezet, een van de serveersters heeft toen elders een deur of raam gesloten. toen ging het beter.

l'hotel è proprio in posizione centrale, storico ma con camere rimodernate molto carine e spaziose. Buono anche il ristorante dell'hotel con posti a sedere all'aperto proprio sulla piazza centrale. E' vero che il ristorante provoca qualche odore sulle scale e negli ascensori ma niente di così problematico. Personale cortese e disponibile, tutti parlano perfettamente l'inglese dalla receptionist alla cameriera ma niente italiano dato che il posto non è frequentatissimo dagli italiani. parcheggio con limitato numero di posti

Abbiamo passato una settimana in questo albergo di antica tradizione, preferendo una stanza non di design della nuova parte ristrutturata, per respirare l'aria del tempo andato. Ottima pulizia, biancheria da bagno rinnovata ogni giorno, servizio impeccabile. La cucina pur nel segno della tradizione è comunque creativa , le colazioni ricche e golose sono servite all'aperto o nel giardino d'inverno. I proprietari ricevono gli ospiti con calorosa accoglienza, importante e piacevole valore aggiunto all'albergo. Merita senz'altro un soggiorno. Nulla . Se proprio vogliamo trovare un neo, il parcheggio è limitato e lasciando le chiavi la reception provvede alla bisogna.

sehr freundliche Mitarbeiter, Frühstück im Freien, großes Zimmer alte Einrichtung, keine Duschabtrennung, Tür zum Bad kann nicht ganz geöffnet werden (steht bei Toilette an), Toilette nicht extra sondern im Bad.

Freundliches, nettes Personal Günstige, zentrale Lage. Gute Küche, allerdings fast ausschließlich höherpreisige Hauptgerichte. Begrenzte Parkmöglichkeiten. Hochpreisig orientierte Speisekarte, überwiegend Hauptgericht, praktisch keine Brotzeiten. Man mußte, da man ja tagsüber unterwegs war, zweimal "warm essen". Es fehlten kleinere Gerichte.

Netter Empfang; Auto wird geparkt; Zimmer "Nannerl" war ausreichend groß und hatte eine gute Sicht auf Zwölferhorn und Stadtmitte; Hotel liegt allgemein schön mittig und nah zu allen möglichen Aktivitäten; Restaurant-Essen sehr gut und gute Weinkarte

E' da segnalare sicuramente la splendida posizione in cui si trova, inoltre gode di una sala colazione notevole, luminosa con vista sulla piazza. Il personale e' sicuramente disponibile. Per prendere l'ascensore che porta nelle stanze superiori si deve necessariamente passare di fianco alla cucina con tutti gli odori che scaturiscono. Nel bagno non c'era un aeratore o se c'era non funzionava ed in tre notti non hanno mai cambiato le lenzuola.

Sehr freundliches Personal, schlicht und geschmackvoll gestaltetes Zimmer in altem liebevoll eingerichtetem Hotel. Sehr schön und empfehlenswert. Nächtlicher Lärm auf dem Dorfplatz vor dem Hotel, insbesondere vor Sonn- und Feiertagen; gut schlafen ist nur bei geschlossenen Fenstern möglich.

Rolig sentralt strøk. Gangavstand til buss/havn/butikker og restauranter, herlige turområder. Utgangspunkt for dagsutflukter! Bor så gjerne igjen på hotellet.

Zentrale Lage in St. Gilgen - gut geeignet für Ausflüge in die Umgebung. Parkplatz-Situation bei gut belegtem Hotel sehr unerfreulich, da es in St. Gilgen kaum Parkplätze gibt.

Sehr autentisches Hotel. Schöne Räumlichkeiten. Leider war die Parkplatzsituation beim Hotel etwas schwierig. Zuwenig Platz zuviele Autos. Auch wurden wir nicht vorgängig per e-mail darauf aufmerksam gemacht , dass das Hotelrestaurant infolge eines Kongresses geschlossen bleibt.
