Language was definitely a barrier. Only a select few of the staff spoke English, and all the pamphlets and information sheets were in German.
The rooms we stayed in were not very comfortable, but I think there were other more comfortable and more expensive rooms available in the hotel. Unfortunately we were not given a choice.
The location would have been better if we had stayed in the hotel, but although not very far from the centre, taxis and transport were a hassle.
The food although supposedly gourmet, was not very impressive.
There was a warm and friendly atmosphere in the bar but we felt excluded because of the language problem.
This hotel is excellent for weekend breaks. We stayed for 4 days which was a bit too long.
We loved the Spa facilities, the grounds and the gardens.
The atmosphere in the hotel was very Bavarian, which was nice.
The staff who spoke English were very friendly but there were not so many of those.
It took some time to understand the rhythm and protocol of the hotel and spa but once done it was very pleasant.
I particularly enjoyed walking the corridors in my bathrobe.
