Front desk agent was extremely helpful. Room was very comfortable and recently renovated. The hotel was more than 500 years old, but our room was thoroughly modern. Easy access to old and new areas of Salzburg. We'd recommend this hotel to anyone.
We were next to the restaurant, which was outstanding. The location was excellent
slightly above average hotel - strongest point is its location to the old town of salzburg - so walking in possible to all tourist sites and at night many places for dinner . bathroom is well renovated but the room we stayed is so basic in its decor
a very basic decorated room smokey corridor and lobby which leaks into the room at night. when we complained , there was a very poor staff response as in I cant much about it
everything, the staff, location the 24 hour free coffee machine
breakfast to expensive, but good bakeries all around
location, friendly staff, pretty much everything.
No A/C and having to leave the window open wasn't ideal as you can hear the noise from the road. Not unbearable though.
Location, comfortable room for 3, with a modern bathroom. Close to supermarket & many restaurants. Would recommend!
The hotel is very well situated, close to the main 'must sees', but still quiet at night. Staff is very friendly and helpful, everything's clean.
The mattress wasn't wonderful, too soft
The Location, the staff, services offert (free the/cafe at the hall, free wifi), the room very big and clean.
The breakfast really expensive ! Moquette on the floor in the room.
Staff was accommodating, and location was great.
Clean and stylish bathroom, Free coffee and tea machine Nice and funny staff members
Noisy construction workers and a loud garbage truck under my window early in the morning woke me up twice - noise filtering would be crucial for rooms facing the street! Breakfast being overpriced
Location of hotel
Location of room in hotel. Would have liked a small table and a couple of chairs.
Very good location, kind staff, 24/7 tea, coffee for free, clean.
Thin walls between the rooms.
We stayed at the apparment which It is not located at the hotel but on the other side of the river. You get to it via the restaurant. We loved it but you do get the noise of the restaurant which didnt bother us at all. Great location. Would visit again.
Self catering facilities not the best but you are located in a restaurant where you can eat....
Everything, the cleanliness, the place had a nice quaint feel about it. Staff was friendly and there to answer questions.
The church bells go off all around every 15 minutes !
We arrived in Salzburg at 6:00 AM. We expected that our room wouldn't be ready but the staff happily let us use the hotel bathroom to freshen up and store our luggage until our room was available. Perfect location for walking all around Salzburg. Modern high end room - we felt like we were at a spa!
We arrived at 6 AM and were told that it would be not problem to get into our room by 12 PM. After walking around the city for 6 hours, we came back and they said our room was ready! After bringing our baby and luggage up to the 4th floor in a TINY elevator (1 person at a time), we walked into a dirty room. Front desk staff was happy to fix it quickly but the cleaning staff seemed irritated and finished their lunch before they started cleaning (we had a tired, crying baby at this point). We appreciated that they got us into our room a little early but wish they hadn't done it begrudgingly.
The apartment was reasonably apportioned and everything worked. Older building, but I knew I was staying in the "old town" portion of Salzburg so no shock there. Time of year was fall, my apartment was on a street with a few bars and restaurant bars so it was handy the weather was cool enough to close the double windows at night blocking all noise.
Wasn't expecting to be in a zimmer located away from main hotel...inside a restaurant. When booking at Hotel Krone...thought I'd be staying at Hotel Krone not a half mile or so away on other side of the river...be cautious of renting an "apartment" with this hotel. They do not mean an apartment within the main hotel building.
Gorgeous building and room, quiet, wonderfully located, free coffee machine in lobby. We ate great breakfasts a few yards away at Lanzino.
We couldn't eat onsite because it was a smoking bar. Really bad common area (smoky) since they open the bar to use the WC. Breakfast not included.
The young man working on reception when we checked in and also worked in the bar was so friendly and really made us feel welcome and was so accommodating. We would definitely come back for another stay and recommend it to other people.
None of our group could get WiFi signal for our whole stay.
apartment locacition is excellent
Location was excellent, staff friendly and accommodating, ro was clean and quiet, price was reasonable
Bed was terrible. Mattress hard as a brick. Pillows were flat and uncomfortable. We were unable to get a decent night's sleep.
Great location, right in the heart of the old town. Coffee/tea machine available 24/7 was also great. Breakfast was nice. Hotel was clean.
Slightly overpriced; main door opened straight into the bathroom; above a bar so a little bit noisy until 12/1am
Option of whether to have breakfast in the hotel or not on a daily basis - plenty of excellent coffee houses nearby for breakfast out. Great location for old city; close tram and bus stops. Fortunate to be staying in the city during the Sankt Rupertus celebrations.
Usual state of Austrian domestic plumbing; their u-bends do not seem to be up to UK standards but the odour in the toilet/shower areas even when not in use could be quite offensive.
We used the patio for wine, cheese and bread. Great for that purpose.
Rooms were clean, could use an update.
We were upgraded to a larger room than originally booked due to an overbooking situation. The larger room was clean, recently updated and roomy. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially when we had to check out very early in the morning. Sleep was no problem even though it faced over the heavily populated pedestrian street-traffic and noise was low from around 11:00pm. Location is the best.
Austria still allows smoking in bars. The Coffee & Booze bar attached to the hotel lobby was convenient for a drink, though there are plenty of other, nicer and less expensive options, but the smoke tended to drift into the hotel and then up the stairwell.
