Great location, very kind service, comfortable room, and a good breakfast.
The staff (the two Ladies) and Location (excellent). Good breakfast. Nice restaurant downstairs. The charm provided by the old building overlaps the lack of some comfort given by the size and decoration of the rooms. I will stay there next time.
The position was excellent. We enjoyed having a restaurant on site which served good food at fair prices. The breakfast was very good with an excellent diverse choice. The host was friendly if not a little eccentric.
We had a top floor room and had the distinct impression that it was not used that often as it was somewhat basic. There was a fault in the screen of the tv and the single radiator in the room did not work correctly, consequently the room was not warm enough. The overall finish of the hotel could be described as rustic at best, the breakfast room in particular is in need of some restoration. We could not access the free Wifi in the reception area. As business people this was a significant issue for us.
I loved the location and the general ambience of a hotel in a an ancient building. The staff were friendly and helpful.
The room was quite small for two people with luggage. My major problem was the very soft pillows that offered no support and exacerbated a neck and shoulder problem for which I am still receiving treatment. A range of firm or soft pillows could easily be offered.
Service and environment is perfect. Not too much and too less.
Unfortunately, it will be the breakfast. The spoon my friend had used was dirty and the food was not as fresh as we normally expected.
Perfect location. Good staff with wealth if knowledge. Warm and cozy hotel.
Condition of the room we stayed could use a little updating. Shower head holder was broken and even though the hotel knew about it, they did not even apologize. Only received comment that the contractor they used worked on his own time on the side. For a hotel business, they should be using a company.
Location, staff, heating, breakfast although juice glasses could have been larger than a shot glass
Issues with shower, broken shower nozzle holder. Bath soap. Construction noise, grinding and sawing
Location was perfect and the breakfast was nice. Staff is supporting us and I recommend it to the people who love the old towns.
I recommend if the wifi service will be available in all rooms not only on the lobby.
The room's fixtures and milieu was perfectly fitting the historical Altstadt. The staff was extremely nice, polite and helpful. There was a rich variety of food at breakfast with many specialities.
We can mention only some little poblems. The douches in the shower were not movable which was a bit uncomfortable. And there was no curtain or door on the cabine. Moreover we could have used some racks (in the bathroom as well).
All staff especially Ulrike who treated all her guests like family. My friend and I feel very welcomed and enjoyed our stay very much. Her patience and also her help is excellent. The breakfast has very good variety, I missed it actually. Our trip there is smooth and hassle free. Many thanks to her and of course Location! It's simply the best and easily accessible to all of the old town and other areas as well!!!
I can't say I didn't like but it would be even better if there is wifi in the rooms instead of just one spot of the hotel. Thankfully I am not a heavy internet user but this would be better in case we may need to check important information at times.
Everything great having nice restaurant attached
excellent breakfast and nice service
Our room would habe needed a bit of renovation
The Goldene Ente has a fabulous restaurant and is located in the heart of the city.
The rooms were tiny with very, very small bathrooms and there was no way to control the heat in the room.
Great locations, friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast! Downstairs restaurant was very good.
Could not get internet. There is only internet in a certain location near front desk, but we could not get any of our devices to log on.
Coziness. Location. staff was helpful. They have good restaurant on ground floor.
Can't come in by car to centre area in Salzburg. That means one has to park one's car really far away.
Very friendly staff, and the onsite parking was very convenient. A nice room and very good breakfast. Great location
Location on the old town
Few quite interesting observations. I have booked two rooms, I get only one(!). Reception is closed in the evenings and there is no contact at all to anybody !!!! ( we live in the 21st century with the mobile phones). I had to look for a room in the other hotel and I have paid more. Receptionist in the morning said that mistakes can happen - human thing and offered me 20eur discount for the one room, what even didn't cover my additional costs in the other hotel. Either they don't know how to handle customer complaints or they just doesn't care. Additionally there is no information in the hotel description that there is no access to the hotel by car and you have to walk 500m with the luggage.
I is in the heart of the old city. Every historic monument and museum are within walking distance. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Very nice resturant on the entry floor of the hotel, great food. Lots of places to shop.
The room was a bit small but however, we did not go to Saltzburg to sit in a hotel room. The beds were harder than we are use to.
The location was perfect, right in the centre of the old town; the staff, Ulrike and Anita, were outstanding; the breakfast buffet was terrific; and the room was very comfortable.
Central location, friendly helpful staff, convenience to all historic sites
The hotel was well situated so easy to get out into the town. The staff were great, helpful and friendly. Restaurant downstairs was excellent, local food, good value, staff great and restaurant popular with tourists and locals.
Room 14 was on the small side so would not wish to spend too much time there. Street noise considerable during the September festival..Sadly this hotel will close in a few months as the owner is renovating into apartments, which may be ok but the excellent traditional restaurant is apparently going to be an Italian restaurant, not a good plan.
Location and staff
The hotel is not suitable for families with babies
For a 700 year old building, it is in immaculate shape. Very clean and bright. The staff are amazingly helpful. Free wifi, internet connection and breakfast were included. Our room was small but very quaint with two single beds - one each for me and my husband. The bathroom was a bit small but perfectly adequate.
The room was quite warm, so we slept with the windows open. We were woken early by noise from the street below.
The location was perfect. Well located in the center of old town Salzburg. Everything was within walking distance. Very convenient and good hotel restaurant below the hotel. Staff members Francisca and Ulrike were extremely helpful. Francisca offered to print our boarding passes. Ulrike showed us where to meet up with Panorama tours and told us of concerts to attend. Both of them are so resourceful and cheerful. They were never too busy to make that second cappuccino.
Only that wi fi couldn't be in the room, but I understand why. After all it is a 700 year old building with foot wide walls.
The central location was ideal for sightseeing in Salzburg. The staff was wonderful, in particular Ulrike. By mistake, I left all my precious things in the hotel safe and Ulrike retrieved them and mailed them to Scotland to me! That's what I call extra special service!!
