Opened in November 2014, Motel One Wien-Staatsoper is just 165 ft from the Ringstraße boulevard and 325 ft from the State Opera.

Right on the famous Kärntnerstraße Shopping Street, this hotel is a 5 minute walk from St. Stephen's Cathedral and the opera. It offers free Wi-Fi and a rich buffet breakfast for an additional fee.
Score from 1088 reviews Very good

Score from 2717 reviews Very good
Decorated in a blend of the Viennese Art Nouveau and Italian elegance, the Kärntnerhof is in a quiet location in central Vienna, only a 5-minute walk from Saint Stephen’s Cathedral.
Score from 1306 reviews Excellent
The location of the hotel is excellent. Room and bed comfortable and the breakfast selection was also excellent.
Would have been good to have tea/coffee making facilities. We had a meal in the adjoining restaurant which was really good but we were a bit miffed by the cost of the extras....bottled water, bread automatically put on the table and the price of a glass of wine! We only ate there the once!
Location excellent Staff is very polite Very clean
Excellent location. Good breakfast but come at 09:30 latest if you want to have a selection. Friendly and helpful staff.
Room and especially the bathroom are fairly small. Overall, the facilities are fitted for a 3-star and not for a 4-star hotel.
Everything except small table.
Small table in my room
I am from Russia, but I would like to write in English. I will recommend this hotel, because it is so comfortable and homelike! The room was always clean, there were all necessary conveniences in working order and other electronics, like tv with a lot of international channels, radio. Also the location of this hotel is excellent! It is so pleasant to walk and travel all day long and then come back, not to the edge of the city, but just to the center of Vienna - the Main street Graben. Even if you understand that you want to eat something, there is no problem, put on an overcoat and in 3 or 5 minutes you will be at a tasty cafe. The breakfast is very tasty! A lot of sorts of cheese,i remember 5 or 6, sausage, ham, omelette, fruit, vegetables, pates, buns, cookies, tea, coffee - actually everything! The hotel staff is very polite and friendly, everyone can answer your question, i remember one man helped us to book tickets on a plane and it was not just like ршы duty, but a real friendly attitude to guests. WIFI was always walking with a normal speed. This was our first trip to Vienna and if we decide to go there once again - we will choose this hotel for it's absolute quality in everything.
It was exactly what I expected but with a bonus of friendly and helpful staff
Everything, except bed
Bed was kind of rocky road
It was easy to get around from the Hotel and within 2 minutes, we were right in the centre of the city. It really couldn't have been better. The food we had was very good indeed and the waiters/waitresses couldn't be faulted, they looked after us extremely well.
The only downside (for us) was that there was no tea/coffee facility in our bedroom which we missed very much - other than that, we were delighted with our choice of venue.
Location is just perfect - in a center, but still very quiet place. Everything was nice. Breakfast good - more than enough choice. I would recommend.
Just a small issue - I booked a double room, but got a single room. After first night I complained and they immediately gave what I booked.
I had an enjoyable few days at the Graben Hotel with my husband about three years ago and my second experience didn't disappoint. I felt comfortable and relaxed. Every aspect was tip-top. We would definitely look forward to a return visit the next time we go to Austria.
There was nothing not to like.
Right in the city centre, a dew yards into a quiet back street. Everything in walking distance. Easy to reach from the airport. Wonderful, charming staff. Wide breakfast selection, fresh juices. Affordable price. My first choice in Vienna for my next trip.
On weekend: lots of people for breakfast (but no wait).
I liked the position near many tourist sites and easy walking to Metro to visit more distant ones. On-site restaurant was good if you didn't want to go out, but other choices were readily available in the area. Good shopping area around.
Central location was perfect for all the local attractions and easy access to and from airport. Was great to be able to have late check out. A thoroughly enjoyable stay
Only criticism was no tea and coffee making facilities in the room
I've stayed in many larges hotels all over Vienna on business (no choice) but privately, I would not hesitate to stay here.
- The location was great, just near the metro station, central but not noisy at all and very well isolated. - The staff was really wonderful, very polite and they all paid attention to the clients' needs. - The breakfast was just good, covering all tastes and cultures. - The room was clean and it had two separate rooms: one for toilet and another one for bathroom. - Wi-Fi was quite good in the reception, restaurant and 2nd floor.
- The room was clean and it had two separate rooms for toilet and bathroom, but the toilet used to smell really bad due to the installation. Also, no sink or garbage were placed in the toilet room. - Double room had two beds and even if they were big and comfortable they were noisy and quite old. - Wi-Fi had quite a bad signal in the entire 6th floor.
Location, Location, Location. Fabulous. A must for a long weekend in Vienna. We would all go there again.
Staff Location Evening restuarant Historical significance
Rooms are medium sized. Comfortable. Water pressure is good. Clean hotel and rooms. No carpet, wooden floors. Good nights sleep. Quiet at nights. Good working free Wifi, perhaps a bit slow. Good breakfast with lots of selections. Excellent location in the heart of Vienna. Reasonable rates. Good value. Good, friendly service from Mahmood and Cindy. Others just did their job. Overall a good stay.
6th floor rooms have raised windows with no view of the street. This floor should be avoided. Pick a room facing the street. Personnel trying to sell tickets for Mozart concerts which are touristy shows. No one should buy concert or show tickets from the hotel. I missed an important Chicago Symphony concert because of misinformation I was given by hotel personnel. Except Mahmood and Cindy, other hotel personnel were non communicative. They have to be trained better in guest psychology.
Location - in the center, close to everything important (not that Vienna is that big) Service - clean, good breakfast Staff - friendly, responsive, even for request prior to arrival, good advises for touristic locations and food price - was very fair
A very functional and comfortable hotel with excellent and unusually friendly and helpful staff
Location could not have been better. Very friendly staff. Peaceful haven right in the centre of the city
Wifi was really patchy on the 6th floor
Position was very good. Staff were helpful and forthcoming particularly as we had to leave bags there for the day after checking out.
Room was somewhat stuffy with windows shut as circulation was not good. Could do with air-con in this unusually hot weather.
We stayed in this hotel one night on the way to USA. It is great location, very clean and confortable, staff helpful, professional and kind, breakfast very good, excelent experience alltogether!
Excellent location and friendly, helpful staff.
During an unusually warm october the airconditioning was only funtioning as a ventilator - it was not cooling.
The Graben Hotel is centrally positioned and well appointed.it is relatively small and intimate and has a great sense of history.
The Wifi setup is annoying as it drops out and you have to reconnect each time you want to use it.
