I like the room as well as location. Since the room wasn't ready so we went for shopping. At 5:30 we tried to get the room to relax for our fly the next day. So we get the card and they said our lauguages in the room. But we had problem to get in the room because there was a technical issue with the door so we couldn't get in. I took the kids for walking again until the staff fix it. After more than an hour I went again and ask the recepiontist about the issue , he replied go yourself and ask technion about the room and he was laughing with other employees in the front desk. And I replied that you will ask him and let me know when I can get in the room. He was unbelievable and impolite. It was only one night to try this hotel but I hate it because that employee.

The hotel is a beautiful building and our room was excellent. The location is just a five minute walk from the Opera House, and the main city centre. My view of this hotel is let down by the lack of service. On arrival there was no greeting, no offer of assistance. Although the receptionist was pleasant she was on her own and as such there was a wait for customers waiting to book in and out. During our stay the lobby staff were more interested in talking and laughing amongst themselves then actually doing their job. Not something you would expect from a hotel of this standing.

We stayed at the hotel for one night when we were flying from Vienna airport on our way back from a friend's wedding in Slovakia. We chose the hotel due to location and we were pleasantly surprised with the standard of the hotel. Being a 5 star hotel, it boasts stunning interiors, a spacious room, beautiful bathroom and very helpful staff members. I would definately recommend this hotel. The breakfast is an additional 31 euros per person and we didn't go for this option as we thought that it was quite pricey considering how much we paid for the room rate already. I would recommend visiting the various cafes which are only a few mins walk from the hotel. If you walk further afield there are a multitude of cafes to choose from that offer authentic viennese food and is a fraction of the price.

Location was ideal. The room I booked had a balcony which was nice and had quite a luxury feel to it. However, I also stayed in the Bristol Wien just down the road from Grand Wien and if you compare both the Bristol was much more luxurious. Having said this both has its positive and negative points.

Super hotel with lovely ambiance. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Great location (especially for the opera) with most attractions within easy walking distance, or via tram, underground or taxi. Rooms were nice and clean, and the tea & coffee facilities in the room were an added bonus. Excellent food in the main restaurant - buffet breakfast a bit pricey at 32e - but well worth it. Everything was fantastic apart from the bed, - which was like a sponge. The bed was far too soft. After two nights, the bed had aggravated a nerve in my husband's back, and he was adviced to sleep on the floor for the remainder of our stay, by the local doctor who had to be called out. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone who has had any past problems with their backs, (unless the hotel are due to change their mattresses soon).

Everything about the hotel was first rate. The concierge was not as friendly as most we have encountered. In a five star hotel everyone should be warm and helpful.

a very nice centrally located hotel - they changed the sheets every day which we thought was unnecessary and did not contribute to preservation of worlds resources - daily towel change also even for the towels left up not thrown on the floor as requested in other hotels. viener schnitzel was below average considering the standing of this hotel and price paid

The luxury and the location. Too long time to wait at the ckeck out. Staff in Restaurants need to look sharper, better dressed, uniforms need to be changed and fit their body. Some were looking like wearing their colleagues clothes and rusty. For the elegance of this hotel, the stuff interacting with the public should be sexier!

Very comfortable accommodation, properly and regularly serviced with full turn-down service, etc. Unmonitored and uncontrolled access direct to the bedroom floor lifts from a shopping centre at the rear of the hotel is a very disturbing security feature of a hotel which is supposedly 5-star. Reception and restaurant staff, valets and chambermaids were consistentlly excellent both in service and manner. Throughout our stay, however, we noted that the front-door and portering staff were off-hand, sullen and unwelcoming to many guests. A very disappointing 'first and last impression' of an otherwise very good stay. Some serious re-training required?

Everything was wonderful, from the helpful and courteous staff, the facilities, the room and the location. It was better than I could have imagined, making it an extraordinary value for the price in that location. I went to Austria for a week on Sissi's road and that hotel made me feel like a princess.

The location was excellent. It was located in walking distance of the major museums and attractions, as well as the metro. We received a free room upgrade and the bathroom in our room was huge. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Excellent location, good staff, always very clean and well looked after both public rooms and private. We didnt use the bar or cafes during our stay because of the large number of children running around the area, families seemed to spend all day in the public areas with children screaming and shouting up to late evening 23.00. better to over the road to the imperial to have a drink etc.

For the booked room (Exclusive) we were offered an upgrade for no extra cost to Deluxe Suite which even exceeded our expectations - although they were already high. The entire environment and amenities fitted best to our Opernball night we came for to town. The Suite was one of the nicest accommodation we ever stayed. Breakfast room service with champagne was also excellent. Receptionist Renata was very friendly and helpful both at arrival and departure. We received a fax (with important details for our reservations for Opernball) prior our arrival, but we got it only at departure, they couldn't find it at evening. That made us a bit more difficult to obtain our pre-paid ticekts for the Opernball.
