Hotel Capricorno  

Excellent location in the inner city district. Close to all the historical sites. Swendenplatz station is just across the street. Pier for Danube cruises just across.

The noise from the traffic can be annoying.

Staff were efficient, helpful, friendly and interested.The room was always kept very clean. Breakfast was excellent and exceeded what we found elsewhere. Location was superb.

Very good location, clean, good service

Location was close to shops and plenty of restaurants. Room was quite spacious and no issues with comfort of bed. Wi-fi access was good and strong signal and free breakfast was a bonus.

Male reception staff was quite curt and very business-like. Hated the fact that there is no coffee/tea making facilities in the room and you need to get down to the reception just to get a glass of water. For the price paid, they don't even give you complimentary mineral water.

Comfortable non-smoking room which, although not huge, was plenty large enough to put my yoga mat down - not so common in Europe! Also, the internet was free and excellent, again, uncommon for many reasonably priced European hotels. Free breakfast with a lot of choice, super-nice staff who spoke good English, and overall a very comfortable stay. The location is about 50 yards from the U-Bahn, and only a few minutes walk to some major tourist attractions. The hotel is in the City and so can be a bit noisy with the windows open but is fine if you close them. The only downside is that the hotel does not offer room service, but there are two grocery stores and many fast-food places and nice restaurants within a couple of blocks.

Easy to find and get by subway. Great location on the "edge" of the old town: a 10-minute walk to the heart of old Vienna - Stephansplaz, and at the same time a 2-minute walk to the Austrian airlines shuttle-bus (and just a 15-20 minute drive to the airport!). Very friendly and helpful staff at the reception. In general, I would stay in this hotel again and recommend it to others.

Very small room could be inconvenient if you travel with big luggage. Noise from Swedenplaz might disturb your sleep. Overly warm bed covers and radiators.

I expected a little bit more comfort from a four (4) star hotel. The worst thing in the whole hotel is the size of the elevator (lift). Two people with 1week luggage hardly fit in. Be aware of limited noise coming from Schweden platz which is the major location for Vienna nightlife. I slept like a log as I usually do.If you want a total piece and silence look for a room facing a backstreet. Inspite these objections I would still recommend the hotel.

We liked everything about the hotel. We had a room overllooking the Ringstrasse and our nearest Ubahn was only a few steps away. The decor was tasteful and most pleasing to the eye. However, above all that was positive, the staff was superb. I stayed at the Cparicorno in December 1999 and liked it but this time it exceeded our expectations. Well done to all concerned.

Internet connection was not good

The level of professioniality of the staff was superb. We were always helped and directed to were we needed to go and what transport to use. The reservation was fairly easy to conclude. When returning to Vienna we use the service of the same hotel. Thanks Mario Ellul
