Reasonable price and not too far from world heritage Hallstat location. Owner was very helpfull, friendly and food was excellent. Hotel hallway was enriched with smoking fume, and can travel to your room whenever you turn-on lighting/ventilation fan in toilet, but should be fine for smoker. |

Excellent location, right on the banks of the lake. We really enjoyed the view. The hotel offers an excellent breakfast and the restaurant is also a good choice in the evenings. The hotel rooms are clean and functional, but not plush. However, our room had a great balcony over looking the garden with a view of the lake. |

Based upon previous reviews, this hotel met our expectations for location, cleanliness and attention by the staff. The owner's mother was very welcoming and quickly corrected a small problem with our reservation. Both speak English excellently. The views over the lake were stunning, especially in mornings and at sunset. Although Hallstatt cannot be seen from the hotel, the buildings at the salt mine site are visible. The breakfast was good and plentiful. We ate dinner at the hotel one evening, and the Viener schnitzel and chicken dishes were excellent. The train depot is a ten minute walk from the hotel, so a car is not required for going to Hallstatt or the ice cave. Wash cloths or bar soap are not provided, bring these or buy them in Obertraun. Liquid hand soap in a wall dispenser is next to the sink. |

The location of the hotel is fantastic and the views are magnificent. The barbecue served at the restaurant is worth trying! The bathroom was a bit uncomfortable. |

Beautiful view indeed!! Quiet area. Sufficient breakfast, great bread! Good internet connection in dining area. Clean. Bring your own soap. Working on roof, lots of noise. |

We loved the town of Obertraun and enjoyed bowling at the local restaurant. Lovely people and town. It was a peaceful hotel with a great view from your room. Easy to ferry over to Hallstatt from this hotel. |

Fantastic location, friendly service & increadable views from rooms with seaside view, as well as from the restaurant terrace. The surroundings are stunning, and it's a perfect place for relaxing. The beds were not very comfortable, and made real loud squeeky noices, evertime one moved a little. They were more like wooden boxes than proper beds. |

The hotel is in a small city and sits on a lake surrounded by mountains. Beautiful and so peaceful. The staff was very helpful, even ran to a neighboring hotel to borrow an electrical converter for us to use. The lake side has a balcony overlooking the lake with mountains all around. Food at the hotel restaurant is wonderful--even for vegetarians. |

Great location, right on the lake. Worth the extra few euro for a room with balcony overlooking the lake. Quiet room. Good restaurant. Nice and helpful staff. Easy parking, also accessible by train. Good for visiting Hallstatt, we walked there and took the ferry back. Internet did not extend to room. |

We liked the quietness, the tranquility. We enjoyed seeing the ducks, swans, and the man quietly fishing. The breakfast was excellent. We were delighted with our room overlooking the Hallstattersee - mountains, wild animals, and quiet. We had an excellent, clean room with very good beds and nice bathroom. A small problem but we could not find a switch to turn on the bathroom exhaust fan. |

The location was spectacular! Beautiful lake and serene glacial mountains; the room was cosy with down blankets and pillows, a cosy authentic Austrian restaurant, easy to travel to Hallstat to see the salt mines, close to hiking and boating, and beautiful ice caves. Just beautiful and perfect! |
