Direct at the Hallstätter lake, with a famous view to the landscape, you find our hotel "Haus am See". It is a perfect point for starting excursions to the famous surrounding of Hallstatt with lots of tourist features and natural monuments. The world heritage region is a paradise for hikers or mountain bikers. In winter time down hill or cross country sking in the region of Dachstein west is great fun for the whole family. The view is good. The hotel is situated in Obertraun opposite to the famous Hallstatt across the lake. It is a good choice if you want to visit Hallstatt, but do not want to find parking and climb up stairs in Hallstatt. The view from the room is great. Free parking The room is small and not quite in a great condition. The television is old and super small like 10" screen. Staffs are okay.

Obertraun is your another option to stay for the beautiful mountain and lake view. The host is very friendly and nice to us. We felt very comfy and feel like home. The breakfast was nice. If you wish to visit the hallstatt village, it is only next stop train station. Stopped at the Obertaun and walk or get the train to the pier to hallstatt. The room is small for 3 person but it's doesnt matter the trip

Must travel by ferry to Hallstatt the town center with very beautiful view Need to walk to the ferry and the ferry costed $2.8 and the last ferry leaves Hallstatt around 6:15pm. Kind of too early for us.

Great location. I could see the Hallstatt lake right in front of my balcony. The hotel has its own restaurant and the food is great. An excellent hotel. Definitely will come back again.

I have chosen a lake view room. The view is very nice. Rooms are clean and bed are comfortable. I cannot locate this hotel through gps so it took me some time to findthis hotel. Staff at frontdesk is not very helpful. I asked for a map for hallstatt but he said he doesnt have.

The view from the room was just amazing! The Hallstatt lake is right by the hotel. I really enjoyed going out to see beautiful landscapes around. The receptionnists at night were too busy and not friendly at all. It was better in the morning...

excellent service, especially the owner coming up early in the morning to drop us to the train station. Much appreciated. the room had a beautiful view of the lake and the restaurant served some good food, including a sumptuous breakfast.

Very good view from this hotel. Heater was great. 5-10 minutes walk from train station. If you don't have a car, better travel first then come here in the evening!. Not too far from city, you can take a bus (like me ^ ^). Toilet was small. Television was tiny - -"

Location was excellent with a view to lake, the staff willing and helpful. The room small but cosy. Prices were fully corresponding with service and furnishing. The soap dispensor was installed outside of the shower corner, upper plastic cover of toilet bowl kept falling - didn't hold up. The el. socket next to the bed was loose, hanging on wires only - safety hazard.

Decent location on the lake was the only probable plus point. The staff was unwelcoming and rude. Rooms were OK but the bathrooms were too small. Ordinary breakfast that too in short supply.
