Score from 816 reviews Good
Just a 10-minute drive from Salzburg Airport, Hotel Königgut enjoys a quiet location on the outskirts of Salzburg.
Score from 164 reviews Excellent
bicycles to use, farm land 500 meters away, city 300 meters away, staff was friendly and helpful, breakfast nice, quiet, great value
Bright and clean, comfortable mattress, nice yard and balcony, convenient location, good breakfast in nice eating area, very friendly and helpful staff, discount coupon at shopping centre and nearby restaurant
Heavy duvet was a bit too warm at night
The pictures of the hotel were more than kind and at best the description is 'artful and manipulative'. Checking in there is a peculiar home made calendar which depicts elderly people naked in jacuzzi's in their rooms with rose buds thrown on them whilst bathing, but there are not enough and body parts protrude from the water unpleasantly and too regularly to be a mistake. The hotel has been built in a car park and a few people's back gardens (where you see them gardening in their yellow wellies or weeding their drives) & it is literally under Salzburg airport, just by a huge car dealership and main intersection, a few concrete offices and shopping outlet. Not only that but there is constant noise from a dirty great big crane from early until late, with a winch clanging about in case you thought you were missing something. The hotel is an 80's nightmare and all the non matching over worn furniture, threadbare towels, winter bedding in 31 degrees, no fan, raggedy curtains, sad hanging down net curtains, odd pictures, sandpaper tissues, plastic soap, etc are all originals from the 80's, as are the weird colour combinations, and oap guests, so it's pretty sad and depressing and very tired. Bring a towel with you after you have had a dribble from the coffin shower or just run around your room naked until you are dry). If you somehow you manage to get past the 'staff' or 'guards' in the hotel and take a bottle of your own water upstairs, they will charge you 5.5 euros for this it states. If you use the half a toilet roll that is left for you, then beg for another as a spare is not left. Breakfast is a spartan affair, one schnitzel for the 8 people to divide between them, a tiny milk jug provided for cereal. Don't expect too much, even the coffee is just too weak to drink, & the water is tap.
Room and Wifi also location was good for where I was working. Nice views from balcony
Overcharged at checkout by over €31. My fault for not checking, but still no refund despite several e-mails and no response! Very poor!
Very friendly staff & owners, very quiet, even as the hotel is near the airport (which has a night curfew) - slept deep & very well. Nice breakfast buffet.
Reception closes early - no problem at least for me, requires just a little planning ...
Friendliness of staff
More attention needed to quality of buffet brealfast
It's a lovely place! The hotel is beautiful, very clean, very confortable. It feels like a house! The staff was really nice, the breakfast was good! It's close to the airport and really easy to get to the city by car.
The hotel was a stopover for one night and we were treated politely and happily with all facilities clean tidy and accessible
pool was great breakfast very good
The room was spacious and had a nice deck to sit out on. Parking is available in their garage. They offer tourism passes.
It was a hot day and there was no air conditioning or fan. It would have been nice to have a lighter blanket or sheet instead of the thick duvet. Mini bar fridge is packed with products. It would be nice to have some space for water.
