Excellent staff and excellent location could not fault anything

The location right in the old city and the old world charm of the hotel.

The hotel needs upgrading: The rooms smell of stale cigarette smoke. The furnishings are getting a little tired. Being in the old city, it is noisy: late night party goers, garbage collection, truck deliveries, building works next door etc. you must be willing to close all windows to get a reasonable nights sleep.

The hotel is located on the main Old City street and it is very convenient for exploring Salzburg historic part.

As the hotel is not air-conditioned you need to keep the window opened for fresh air. However the area, which is overlooking either the main road or the main Old City street, is very noisy - people drinking all night, followed by the bells of the churches nearby. So having a real rest is problematic. Internet connection is also lousy - very weak or simply non-existant.

Loved everything about our stay. We were travellin with an infant and the hotel tried its best to comfort us at all times. I really dont care about the star ratings as long as we enjoy our stay. The staff was prompt, precise, extremely helpful. True value for money. Great location. We were given a free upgrade and that my daughter loved the view from our room. One word - Fabulous!!

The room is very good with beautiful lake view, also the breakfast is also remarkable. Inside the hotel hou can see combination of old and new part of the structure, very interesting.

I liked the location it is in the down town

the hotel is very old, it has many stairs to reach the elevator, and the elevator is very small, no facilities in the room.

No negatives

Hotel was in an excellent location for sightseeing and shopping in Salzburg. Most sightseeing and the hop on /off bus were easy walking distance. The room was spacious, well appointed and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful with advice and bookings.

The hotel room was a little bit too warm and there did not seem any way of controlling the temperature.

No Air Conditioners meant we had to open the window at night and could hear cars zooming around the whole night. Breakfast was too expensive

Parking was difficult and a trek

The location was great couldn't be better access to all the old town. The room was large and beautiful. Staff were so helpful and even wished us happy anniversary.

They gave us a free upgrade. The beds were really comfortable. The location is right in the heart of the old city. The staff was very helpful at directing us to the sights.
