Hotel Gerl  

It was close to the highway and nice place to stay for a stopover after a long trip. It has a wellness area with sauna that we loved very much after sitting all day long in the car.

This was an amazing hotel just on the outskirts of Salzburg but close enough to easily access everything the city has to offer. My favorite thing is the way you feel like you've stepped into a bavarian sanctuary as soon as you pull into the drive way. The rooms, the food, everything is though out and makes you comfortable. There is an amazing yard behind the hotel with an outdoor pool, huge playground with swings, trampoline and climber, and a big chess set. My children loved this place as much as I did!!!!

The hotel was just perfect for our family (5) After the kids had been cooped up in the car from Munich, they had a ball in the garden with trampoline, play areas and playing with the resident rooster and dog. It was too cold to use the outdoor pool, but they have a lovely indoor one (although wasn't convinced it was heated)! The superior family room was perfect, with a separate bedroom for the kids and a seating area in main room, the room was immaculate. The owner and staff are very friendly and made the kids feel welcome which in turn made us have more of an enjoyable time. The food in the hotel was so nice we ended up eating there the 4 days we were staying. Our only disappointment was when the restaurant closed on Sunday evening, our last evening to gorge on the lovely food - more homely Austrian food than gourmet, but just right for us when we don't know when the baby is going to kick off. Be warned, you might have to resort to take away up the road on a sunday evening, as we drove around for an hour trying to find a restaurant that would not be eaten on red plastic chairs (early sunday closing for restaurants). People talk about the breakfast being limited, but we found it just right for us - nice change not to have temptation of a massive fry up every morning. The staff didn't even complain when my husband was a big of a boiled egg hogger every morning and had so many that he had to put the empty shells onto the kids plates to make it look like he hadn't just eaten 12 in a row! A great experience, and even though you are just off a main strip of petrol stations and electronic shops, Hotel Gerl is a little Oasis and you can just look out of your balcony window to the perfect white steeple and mountains and just dream you are in the middle of nowhere.

The only thing I would have liked to see at the hotel is a spa, not a fancy one, but just a chance to have a massage after a long day of walking. But the hotel was great in every other way that I could put up with a sore back and feet until I got home.As a sweet eater, perhaps some danish pastries would be nice on offer for breakfast.

The facilities were excellent, and the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful.

Nothing too bad, although there wasn't a massive selection for the breakfast.

Ideale Lage nahe der Autobahnabfahrt, wenn man seine Autobahnfahrt nur zum Übernachten unterbrechen will. Grosser Parkplatz. Hallenbad und Aussen-Pool mit grosser Liegewiese - allerdings kommt bei der Lage an der stark befahrenen Bundesstrasse kein wirkliches Urlaubsgefühl auf.

Das Hotel vermittelt irgendwie den Flair einer Jugendherberge. Zimmer sehr klein und eher spartanisch eingerichtet, allerdings sauber. Selbstbedienung pur beim einfachen Frühstücksbuffet; keine gedeckten Tische, sogar das Besteck und das Kaffeehäferl muss man sich selbst holen. Gäste sind grossteils reisende Handwerker und Montage-Trupps.

Ystävällinen vastaanotto hotelliin tuleessa ja henkilökunta aian valmis palvelemaan. Aamupala erinomainen. Hotelli rauhallisella paikalla,maalaismaisemissa. Hyvä linja-autoyhteys Slazburgin keskustaan. Saunaosasto iso ja toimiva.

die freundliche Atmosphäre, wir wurden sehr nett behandelt, der kleine Saunabereich mit Swimmingpool hat uns gut gefallen, die Zimmer waren sauber und ordentlich, also alles in allem waren wir sehr zufrieden. Man ist mit dem Auto auch recht zügig in der Salzburger Altstadt (Parken im Parkhaus).

das Hotel liegt an einer Hauptstraße. Wir waren im Winter dort, daher war das bei geschlossenen Fenstern kein Problem.
