Hotel Kaiserin ElisabethWeihburggasse 3, 01. Innere Stadt, 1010 Vienna (Show map) Wonderful, Score from 678 reviews“Splendid empire style hotel. Nie and old fashioned but fully modernised and efficient. The location is fantastic - 1min walk from the Kärntner Strasse and 5 mins walk from St Stephens. Good facilities, comfortable room. Can't ask for more for a reasonable price. Much better than any of the chains - you actually feel you're in Austria and not in a global clone anywhere from Cincinnati Airport to Hong Kong.”
Clive,
Lisbon

The location was convenient for shops, museums and restaurants. The staff were very courteous and helpful. The buffet breakfast was comprehensive and of good quality, and service was efficient. The Kaiserin Elizabeth is substantially more expensive than broadly similar hotels we have used in Vienna. There was no electric kettle or tea-making facilities in the rooms. The bathroom layout was not overly convenient, with an awkwardly shaped tub. One of our rooms was on the first floor facing the partly pedestrianised street, so we got a bit of noise therefrom, especially from early and late vehicles unloading.

Top location in the Heard of Vienna, ideal for shopping and sight seeing. The Hotel is verry clean and people very nice and helpful.Typical "Vienna Atmosphere" In general the people was verry nice except some unfriendly and unpolite remarks the receptionist made to us when arrive (night). I have seen verry positive comments about the breakfast. However we made a bit different experience. Bereakfast is nicely presented but has a verry limited variety and not enough tables when hotel is fully booked. People had to wait. Price is to high for the service. For the same price higher class hotels as well located in the heard of Vienna can be booked.

The location of the hotel and Stefan the door man who was so very friendly and helpful. This is not the fault of the hotel but noise from a building site nearby was sometimes disturbing. But the hotel was good.

The friendliness and helpfulness of the front desk staff. You were made to feel really welcome and they were always ready to answer any questions about making the best of your stay in Vienna. When I booked I asked for a quiet room if possible. In fact we were given a room on the first floor looking directly onto the street which was inevitably rather noisy. But this is only a minor criticism.. .

Location of the hotel is awesome, steps away from St. Stephens Cathedral. It's a small boutique hotel, nice, but not great. It's kind of expensive for what you get. Breakfast, especially, is just so so.

I was very pleased with the hotel - it turned out as most reviews describe it, truly very good and comfortable. I requested a quiet room, and I got it - a courtyard room, which was indeed very quiet. The room felt bigger than on the pictures, possibly because of high ceilings. The bathroom had a huge shower, the bed was comfortable, the room had free internet. There is a safe in the closet, and the closet itself is very spacious. The location is as central as it can be; because of that I did not take breakfast, as I wanted to indulge in Viennese pastries instead; there are marvelous cafes nearby, on Kartner Strasse, in Hofburg and everywhere in Vienna. The breakfast for 13 euros looked good, though. The hotel is 5-min pleasant walk along Kartner Strasse to the opera; my main reason for staing there for 2 nights was to attend two operas, and it served its purpose splendidly. It is a solid 4-star hotel, no less and no more. There were no negative surprises, but there was nothing that would exceed expectations - the hotel was right on the money. It did not provide a robe and slippers; it did not have a bathtub. The staff was courteous and efficient; my luggage was stored till later in the evening, when I departed for my night train to Milan. The only thing that annoyed me was the hangers in the wardrobe as they did not move easily; otherwise, everything was nice, efficient and comfortable, as Austria is. I would definitely stay in the hotel again, but I am not sure I would go for a honeymoon there; it is rather on a comfortable, but not on a pampering luxury side. I found it ideal for attending the opera, the museums and seeing the city, then for excellent rest and great night sleep and for the internet connection right from the room.

Very good hotel with friendly staff. Tasty food. Good location, just few steps from the heart of Vienna - St. Stephen's cathedral. I didn't get the room I reserved. They where full and offered me a very small, ugly room, of course with less money.

I loved everything about Hotel Kaiserine Elisabeth. It is a stylish hotel with old world charm, situated approx. 50 m from the Stefansdom. The staff are charming, friendly, courteous & professional. They make you feel like an important guest. The rooms are tastefully decorated and the breakfast was superb. I would love to stay here again & I would recommend this hotel to anyone. They couldn't do enough for us.

The hotel is almost perfectly located, very close to the Karntnerstrasse and only a few metres from the Stephansplatz underground station. We had opted for a superior room which was everything it claimed to be in comfort and appointments. It was not expensive by Viennese standards. The room and public areas in the room were very clean and well presented. The staff were most friendly and helpful and there is an excellent buffet breakfast. .

right in the shopping area, very close to metro, friendliness of reception and bellboy staff specially Mr.Afshar who went out of his way to assist all guests as I was observing the fron desk area. construction is going right next to the hotel which was very disturbing specially as early as 7:00 am////breakfast was ok nothing to brag about..breakfast staff not friendly at all except one young lady who seemed to be on traing,,,hotel guests would love to see a warm greeting with a minimum smile in the morning.

The best thing about this hotel is the location, right in the middle of the main pedestrian/commercial street in central Vienna, a stone's throw from St. Stephen Cathedral. Otherwise, the service is pretty good. The hotel boasts its offering of a wi-fi internet connection in all rooms: in fact, the connection works very badly (at least when I was there), every 15 minutes you had to re-log on as the connection just dropped in the middle of something. More seriously, the breakfast buffet was quite poor for a hotel in this category. Low quality cheeses and yogurts, bad coffee, canned fruits instead of fresh in the fruit salad.

The hotel was just what I needed after a very long flight, the staff were friendly, helpful and obliging. The breakfast was welcome. The room was spacious with a great shower and bathroom. The bed was comfortable and welcome. The location is around the corner from the pedestrian section where there is good shopping, a variety of cafes and restaurants and the spectacular St Stephens Cathedral one end and the Opera House the other The shower temperature was a little hard to control. I would have liked to be able to toast one of the extensive bread selections. Otherwise I found the hotel to be excellent and happy that I am going there at the end of my trip.
