Breakfast room was cramped and facilities limited
Location and breakfast
- GREAT location. - Very good, helpful staff - Free breakfast which was very varied and delicious - Rooms were spacious and very clean - The decor was well-themed and had a warm feel about it
- Nothing that comes to mind
Excellent breakfast Sauna and steam room
clean, fresh, spacy room, nice classy furnishing, helpful staff, good breakfast
Everything was great! Beautiful clean hotel
Perfect position, historic setting maintained but with all the modern facilities you need. Friendly and helpful staff.
The hotel was charming and the staff was helpful and delightful. There was an excellent breakfast in the morning. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The location was excellent right in the old city close to all the sights.
The only downside to being right in the old city is that it tends to be noisy at night. There is no air conditioning and with the windows opened, it is hard to sleep. I suspect that all the hotels in the old city have the same problem. It is a great location, yet not great due to the sleep issue. You need to pick your priorities.
Location in centre Good staff Very good breakfast
The street was super-noisy at night, all the shouting locals/tourist kept me awake for some hours. The bed was short for me (I'm 185cm, probably bed is 190, but you stretch your feet when laying and then it's small). There is no reasonably priced parking for the car nearby.
Old world charm....Great shower.....good breakfasts...large, spacious suite though no comfortable chairs to sit on!
I think I was bitten by bed bugs as I woke up on the 2nd day with bites all over my body which kept multiplying during the following days...The staff were wonderful in dealing with this and changed my entire bedding including mattress The hotel is a bit shabby....breakfast room gets overcrowded...terrible coffee....terrible wi-fi availability in room
Location to city and festival venues. Traditional and cozy with lovely details.
My room was next to elevator shaft and very noisy when elevator was running. Breakfast room much too small and always crowded.
The location and the breakfast were both good
The beds were not comfortable. The room was very warm. The room seemed tired
The room, uncomfortable bed. Noisy? Bad Lighting, shower not working properly, Limited wardrobe space, no comfortable chairs. Not a Four Star Hotel .
The location was perfect for us. Situated in Old Town,we were easily able to walk or catch public transport, from our hotel to various locations around Salzburg. Staff were very friendly and very helpful with answering any questions we had. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Wifi connection was good and Breakfast was spot on too.
Location Breakfasts Cleanliness Waking up and looking to the Festung Hohensalzburg from the roof window! Silence (but you'll be in the Café Tomaselli or Getreidegasse in a little while if you want!) WLAN (fast and stable) Terrace
Everything except the noise on the street at night
We had room 501 and this is near the street... Apparently there's a lot of noise during the night and early morning on the street...
Location in old town, comfort of suite, window in roof with amazing view of fortress, breakfast was delicious with good choice of food, hotel responded quickly to questions prior to our stay, a very comfortable and relaxed stay.
Was all good.
The staff were amazing Everything was great
Its an old hotel. But this could be a positive thing
Breakfast buffet was excellent Location was good Hotel was clean.
They painted the room while we were staying in it! My husband returned to the room during our 2nd day there to discover our door open and a man inside painting the room. He was shocked but we did not want to complain. When we returned later that day the smell was too overwhelming to stay there so we requested another room. No one contacted us to explain why or apologize. The girl on the desk did say this was not usual. Parking was also a bit of a disaster. We were charged 28 euros for 2 days parking but when we tried to get out of the lot, it charged us another 40 euros. Then the barrier came down before we could leave and it tried to charge us again. It created a huge scene with backed up cars behind us in the lot complaining because no one could get out past the barrier. The call button helped us find someone to explain and we returned to the hotel and got the 40 euros back from them but the desk clerk told us this had happened before. Last of all was the Bill. The room rates were much higher than we expected for standard rooms 200 euros per room for the first night and 179 euros for the second. We did not have a print out of our original quote for the rooms so just paid it.
Generally everyghing was very good with only two minor gripes. The location is superb on the edge of the old city but yet with parking facilities which is a rare combination
Getting the car in was a problem with the code to the barrier not working. That having been said a member of staff came out and let us into the restricted area. Also some instruction that we should pull up in front of hte hotel would have been nice. The second gripe is that the hot food at breakfast was not kept refilled when empty. that again was minor as their was plent of everything else to eat.
So central, beside all the best sights but the hotel was a sight in itself. So lavishly decorated we thought we were staying in a theatre. We got an upgrade to a suite which was huge and as ornate as a church. The Italian restaurant downstairs is generous and fast. There was a great selection of foods at breakfast. Several concerts were just around the corner. A good few bars within throwing distance. Reception was efficient and very friendly.
There is a lot of building work going on in Salzburg, so it can be a little noisy. But this is not the hotel's fault.
view from breakfast area and breakfast was great and service very good.
We had a 2 story family room. Clean, comfortable. No A/C but not seeded in Salzburg. Cool electric ceiling window with shades fro the morning. Excellent included breakfast. Smart location.
It was within walking distance from most attractions and in a very quiet area.
Only a bath, no shower.
