Being on the main Mariahilfer street and the old design The staff a bit busy all the time(only a receptionist on duty). I was asked by the receptionist to go and collect my lauguge from the store room. Seems they didn't have a concierge service

First stayed in this hotel in 1977 when our first daughter was only 11 months. Have been back to Vienna a few times and would n't stay anywhere else. An underground station is right outside the hotel with direct access to the centre and also the City Airport Train. Very good breakfast. Staff very friendly. I think it is time they installed flat screen television sets in all the rooms. Most European 4 star hotels have upgraded their tv sets by now.

The location is excellent. The hotel did not have bell boys and we had to carry our on luggage. We booked a standard room which was very claustrophobic and with a horrible view, we requested to change the room and got up grated for free. I would like to write regarding the West Western Elephant hotel in Salzburg – the hotel is located in the center of the old city. There was no indication, when we booked the hotel, that you can get to the hotel with a car only after you get a code from the hotel , that can lower the pole that is blocking the entrance to the old city– it was very frustrating to drive and drive and not be able to get to the hotel. Only after we called the hotel we were able to get there.

It had a lovely reception, breakfast was excellent, staff were polite. Room was nicely furnshed, bed was very comfortable. The room was a little noisy from the passing traffic in the early morning, I also found the room to hot, and could not control the temperature. I felt a little claustrophobic in the room as I think it was to small from a double room. Also no ventilation or extractor fan in bathroom. Bath was small, and the shower badly positioned so that when used the floor became soaked in water.

The carpet & toilet were dirty. The shower was suddenly very hot and suddenly very cold, the shower pressure was also very poor! Though the staff said they were fixed, but problem still existed & nearly got burn during shower! Totally not 4stars hotel except the stairs from the advertising photos!

I liked that you could adjust the air conditioning in our room. It was very clean and the breakfast had a nice variety. There was no Internet avaiable. We had to use Starbucks across the street.

Friendly staff, particularly in the bar, excellent central location, excellent breakfast available, room cleaned well daily, good local information provided by hotel, air conditioning was welcome room décor a bit dreary, I would worry about evacuation in the event of a fire as there is no external fire escape apart from the central stairway.

I really enjoyed the position of the hotel, the building itself and the quality and quantity of breakfast. Also the room was very comfortable and nice (the superior, not the standard). The ventilation system in the bathroom of our room did not worked (room number 309). This was extremely important when using the toilet and the shower!!!!!! It would be nice not to charge internet Wi - Fi so high. Too expensive!!!! (9 Euros per hour in the lobby with your Laptop!!!!!!!), or 25 Euros per day in your room....... There was very poor sound proof protection between our room and the room No 310, mainly because of a common door (which of course it was permanently closed and locked)

We stayed at this hotel twice. First time, although the room was very big, we found we could not turn the heating down. Upon return we have mentioned this to the receptionist and they were very happy to move us in a different room if this was to be the case again. Fortunately this time we could regulate the temperature. We found the hotel staff polite and when we needed to leave luggage at the hotel they took it to store happily. the hotel is simple and perhaps a bit tired but all together we enjoyed our stay and found its location very practical for shopping as well as hopping on the Underground train right in front of the hotel. Would stay here again.

location High price, the standard room is not like a 4 star hotel. Mr. from reception gave us a room with a very small, old and uncomfortable couch for the child and we payed in the evening the standard room rate. He said it's OK because it is not an extrabed. In the morning he changed his mind and cancelled the previous payment and charged us 20 euros more for an extrabed!!! So pay attention! The room rate is according with the receptionist disposition!! Shame on you Mr receptionist! Never again at your hotel.

Staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. The hotel was ideally situated for exploring the main sights of the city, as well as being near shops and restaurants. Our room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was excellent. We intend to stay here again.

Everything about this hotel was sensational! The free upgrade we received probably coloured our opinion more than a little, but in every respect it was a wonderful two nights in Vienna. Location, breakfast, hotel staff all first class. Right beside a metro stop and a really short ride to anywhere you"re likely to want to go. The Vienna metro is really easy to navigate. All these things apply regardless of upgrades - but the suite we received really topped it off!
