As soon as you step in the building, you smell the smell of blocked waste pipe work, I don't know how the front desk person can stand that all the time sitting there to smell that.
Our room was clean enoughtm but the smell in the toilet room (separate toilet and bath rooms) smelled like urine being wiped away without any cleaning agent. So it smelled like someone peed a little bit on the floor, from the first day we arrived. It smelled like that. May be it was not cleaned properly.
Value for money. With the offer price we paid, it was really good for money. We booked a room for 3 people, though we are a family of 4, with a young child. The policy allows us to book a room for 3 but we need to pay extra for the extra bedding. When they realised that we were a family of 4, not 3, they did not charge us more, but reallocate us to the biggest room (I think) in the attic/ loft. It's very spacious and comfortable to have such a big space. The beds were hard enough.
The breakfast was excellent, plentiful and tasted just right. We didn't pay extra for the breakfast, it came in the hotel price. The two staff who serve breakfast are always busy refilling and tidying up and replacing new sets on the tables. They are very dedicated in their role.
The location was very good for the main train station, but on the 'better' side of the rail. It takes us about 5-10 min walk to the Mirabellplatz. Quite a comfortable walking distance, similar walking distance to the main train station but in opposite direction. The air conditioning we have in our room was in particular good, it can give your cold air when it's hit, or warm air when it's cold. Very quick to adjust to the right temperature. I knew from my research that in Salzburg, not every hotel has air conditioning. They also have a modern bath room with a strong hair dryer in our room.
The wifi is working perfectly fine, as soon as you are at the entrance of the hotel you start to pick up signal.
The person sitting at the front desk sometimes is helpful sometimes not very, depending who is sitting there. but they're not rude, it's just that some of them may not be able to or may not be willing to give extra help.
