Hotel Lucia

Very friendly, conversational and helpful receptionists, all with good, some exceptional, English; beautifully designed and furnished room in new section of hotel; really excellent German breakfast, making any lunch an impossibility! We would recommend the hotel to anyone. Very near underground station in quiet district; ten minutes into central Vienna; ideal for city tourism.

(1) The reception staff spoke English and were friendly, (2) The room and bathroom were clean, (3) The beds were comfortable, (4) The breakfast was included in the price and was decent even though it had limited choices, (5) Not too difficult getting to the Underground and going to the city center (about 20 minutes), (6) Good value for visitors who stay a short time in the room and go touring most of the day.

(1) Had to walk a few blocks to the U-bahn, (2) In an unattractive area but seemed safe at night, (3) bumped my head a few times in the room on the top floor with attic ceiling, (4) no AC - had to keep windows open, (5) breakfast should be available earlier than 7am, (6) did not accept American Express, (7) price was a little expensive given the location.

The breakfast was good, the rooms were clean, cleaners and breakfast staff were friendly and efficient as was one member of desk staff (others grumpier). Rooms were a reasonable size, although very expensive for the grungy area. Transport to the centre of the city was quick and easy to use.

The location! It was way out of the city centre (we didn't know this as the hotel was recommended by the conference organisers) and on the edge of the red light area. There were no good cafes, bars, restaurants around and it all felt very unattractive as an area. Given the location, we all thought that the hotel was expensive. I was only glad that we were there on business not as tourists! Internet facilities at the Lucia were not good which was difficult for all us as we needed to keep in email contact with colleagues in the UK.

It was very expensive for a very ordinary hotel in a bad area which was a long way out of Vienna. I would not recommend it.

It was newly build up hotel, very near to westbahnof.would like. Would like to stay again, Breakfast is ok, staff is friendly.

The Lucia's prices are reasonable, the staff is very helpful, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. I have stayed here in the past and would recommend it to others.

Is a noise autside something like an engine who start and stop ( if you stay with the window open)

I liked the fact that the employees of the hotel were nice with the clients, the food from breakfast was also fine.

I would have liked to have more options regarding TV channels and the channels to be organized by their type (music, cartoons, science, news etc)

It was very hot and they could not supply ventas to any one that wanted. Room that we got is looking on the main street and it is extremely noisy.

As Hutteldorfer street is a main road with heavy traffic (including trams), the hotel is somewhat noisy. Especially, when in summer you want to keep the windows open in order to get fresh air and cool down the room. Hence, there is no air condition.
