The hotel is conveniently located near the city center, which is walking distance. Subway is also very close. The room was absolutely small although I booked a two bedroom apartment. They wanted to give me a single room and only after insisting they gave me a small apartment with one room and an additional sofa bed. Beds are totally uncomfortable. No air conditioning.

Convenient location. Rooms on the street are very noisy. Internet is not working (and you have to pay for it). No parking. All in all: good for one night but not for a longer stay.

This hotel has great potential, it is well situtated and the price is affordable; however, do not stay on the apartment side of it. The regular rooms are okay and it offers free internet. The reception area and the hallways need some attention.

Perfect hotel! Good location (15 min to centre), cosy rooms, friendly staff, tasty breakfast, room 538 has an exit to a terrace (roof) One minus - too thin walls... too thin walls... you hear your neighbours

We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel was warm and clean. The room was spacious (we had a 2 bedroomapartment for 4 adults). The beds were comfortable, the buffet breakfast had an amazing selection and the food was delicious. The staff spoke good english so were very helpful to us.Afternoon tea was served free of charge every day in the foyer. The location is very close to the city centre - close to the opera house and easy walking distance to other attractions such as the spanish riding school. Very good value for money.

Hospitality is the word to describe Hotel Papageno. Adorable gesture was the provision of coffe/tea and candies in the living room at Christmas Days. Lavish breakfast. Staff at the reception desk were very helpful and always jocunt. Each day of the seven we stayed the room was tidied and the bathroom was cleaned. The room and the living room at the reception were well-heated and the water at the bathtub was all day long warm. As far as the location is concerned, it is less than 5 minutes away from the U-bahn, a tram line is outside the hotel, but anyone can go on foot to the city center (straight ahead the hotel-about 15 minutes). Nice furnishing. Suggested!!

Helpful and friendly (but not over-familiar) staff, particularly those working on reception. We stayed twice, once for two nights, returning two days later for a second night. Both rooms were clean and comfortable, especially on our second visit when the room was larger and had much better lighting than the first room which was rather dim even after allowing ten minutes for the low energy lamps to warm up. For us this was not a significant problem as it was just a place to sleep but anyone needing to write or read extensively would have had difficulty. I suspect rooms are being upgraded from lower floors upwards as our second room (on a lower floor) had excellent halogen lighting and had obviously been decorated recently. The hotel is well located. It's 10-15 minutes walk to the city centre, trams and buses pass the front door and there's a metro station 5 minutes walk away. Reception staff recommended several nearby restaurants and those we used were excellent and reasonably priced. 10/10 for staff and 8/10 overall I found the beds too soft as I'm used to a very firm mattress but that's a matter of personal taste and hotels can't cater perfectly for everyone. That said, we both slept well. Showers in both bathrooms were powerful but not particularly well positioned: it was almost impossible to run the shower at full power without soaking the floor, despite the screens.

The hotel is well situated, being close to the Inner city and a straight road line from the Stefandom, the Opera and the Kaerntner Strasse shopping districts. Very good transport links when raining but everything is within good walking distance from this hotel. The Front desk staff are great; nothing is too much trouble and the hotel is friendly, comfortable, discreet and very guest-centred. For the price it is excellent value for money and the buffet breakfast is very good indeed. This was my second stay at this hotel and a request for the same room was agreed to at no extra charge. The internet connection in my particular bedroom was rather weak and I could not work in the room. However the hotel serves free coffee in the lobby and the internet connection there was fine. A minor issue in an otherwise very positive guest experience.

The rooms were elegantly furnished and very clean, the staff was exceptionally helpful and provided insights on the city, Christmas markets and more. Especially Beate, the front office manager, went well beyond her duty providing maps, directions, suggestions and ideas that made our stay in Wien a wonderful experience! Breakfast was also delicious, with a fine selection of cheese and Austria bread.

Can walk to the center in 7-10 minutes. Staff, especially receptionist (the blonde, middle aged, beautiful woman) is very helpfull and friendly. The breakfast is nice comparing to other hotels like this one. Bed in the room was noisy, internet was not a fast one.

Friendly and helpful staff. The front desk would go out of their way to support your information needs. The room was clean, yes, clean and nicely decorated with a wonderful austrian chandelier. The facilities were not new so some deterioration was present but not to the point of becoming a concern. The bathroom was small but adequate. Breakfast was wonderful, with variety, and included in the room rate. The staff serving breakfast was great. The tram stop was located withing 100 yards. Central Vienna was one a couple of stops away. The underground train was a short five minutes walk away. The general area was safe. I am pleased with the hotel, the room, the location, the rate, and their supportive staff. None.

The room was nice and the coffee maker makes good coffee. The hotel charges your twice!!!! Be careful tourists. First they preauthorise the full amount of your stay in my case 112 euros, then they charge you again for the stay without first taking off the preauthorisatoin. In total I was charged 2x for 1 night. I had to call the bank and the hotel never again papageno!

The location is in the neighbourhood of the centre and is a quiet place to stay at night so you can rest. The staff services and facilities are friendly and very good. We had a nice time. While it was very warm during our stay in Vienna it would have been nice and fine when had have airco.

About 10 minute walk to the southern edge of the tourist center. Nice set up with excellent breakfast. Helpful staff. Metro is 5 minute walk and Tram stop in front of the hotel. Requested a quiet room. Room I got faced the main street with lot of traffic and trams. Very noisy. Would not recommend for light sleepers. WiFi didn't work in the room but worked in the hallway and lobby. I didn't request a room change as it was late and we were staying only one day.

“Our first surprise was an upgrade to an extremely spacious suite of rooms! We were more than comfortable in these beautiful quarters. The walk to the U Bahn was easy, and we were able to leave our car in the hotel parking lot and get about the city on foot just fine. The staff was wonderful - very helpful with our internet and with guiding us to the city. Breakfast was quite a spread, and the food was very good. We would stay at Hotel Capri again.” Janyce, Bothell, Wa |
