Situated right on Vienna's main shopping street Mariahilfer Straße, the Hotel Kummer occupies an impressive historic building next to the Neubaugasse stop of the U3 metro line.
Score from 2177 reviews Excellent
Only a 10-minute walk from the Opera and the lively Naschmarkt Quarter, this hotel occupies a historic 18th-century building. It offers a free internet station and a rich buffet breakfast.
Score from 2001 reviews Very good
Just around the corner from the Mariahilfer Straße shopping street, this family-run hotel is only 100 ft from the Neubaugasse subway station. Free Wi-Fi is available in public areas.
Score from 899 reviews Very good
I liked: spacious room, price for the parking because of the paying in hotel and I was suprised that the whole hotel it is only one floor in a big building.
I did not like: small choice of food on breakfast, the strange smell in the hotel and not very clean bathrom..
Although the reservation for 3 persons was 224 Euro, we were charged an extra 75 Euro for the third person! And no invoice or receipt was given to us. Charging extra money for a Booking.com reservation and price already stated in the reservation form, I think is cheating.
Good location, clean and comfort rooms, breakfast is good
A few repairs are necessary (e.g. safebox in a room was broken).
Location is perfect.
Breakfast has no varieties. Beds are not comfortable. Not more than 3 stars.
Location was great, room was clean. Staff were friendly and polite and very helpful.
Room was basic so may not suit people who intend to spend more than a minimal amount of time in it (great for us).
Could not use bathroom with door open.
Location, close to subway stop. Big size of room. Silent room as the street infront of the hotel has been closed for cars. Beautiful jugenstil facade and iron work of the lift cage!
no desert! pastry, cakes, etc.... just fruits!
Cleaning and night shift staff were very nice. Rooms were clean. Walking distance to major sights.
There was construction work on the street our window looked down on regardless we got assigned mentioned room. We had to ask to get changed which they were kind enough to comply.
breakfast is nice.
beds are bit hard for us. road costruction from 6am, which is an external element. wifi didnt come to our room.
excellent location nice staff
its definitely not **** stars hotel
Metro station is nearby
There was no water in the morning. The heating in the room did not function well. Also had some problems with wi-fi connection. The hotel definitely does not qualify to have 4 stars
Noise and lights during the Night. Even windows closed, we hear everything on mariaHilfe Strasse. And the curtains let too much Light enter.
The hotel was in a great part of the city and we were able to travel to all the touristic places. The staff members were nice and helped us out with a couple of things. The wifi was a little slow but why would you need it when you are in such a great tourist city.
Close to the town and high street.
No aircondition. This is definitely not a4 star hotel. Maybe a 2 star pension.
near train station and place to see
when we lived there, there was road repairing so it was very disturbing.
The hotel is a bit hidden inside the main building where it is.
perfect location cozy rooms friendly staff
The rooms were clean and spacious. Interesting building. Very good location for shopping and walkable distance to museum sector.
Tea and coffee in room was a bit sparse. Breakfast did not look very inspiring but it depends what you like. We went to a nearby cafe.
location and fair comfort
The room we got was much smaller than the one we reserved by internet. Also it was a smoking room, despite it was said to be a non-smoking room and we had to sleep the first night in it. Breakfast was poor, with too old apples and "fruit salad", that did not taste fresh. The hotel is a hotel pension, not a hotel.
location is near by everything u need. shopping , barber ship , resturants and cafes , supermarket , etc... metro is near by and centre is not faraway either by walking or metro.
Staff were rude. they were not helping regarding the attractions or which metro to take. i made the research myself. room is small but functional. tv is very small and no English channels. bed is very small for a single room and adjacent to the wall which i felt uncomfortable and hit the wooden panel several time. rooms are not sound proof and u can hear everything happening in the biding or opposite building i wouldn't choose this hotel again.
We liked the location in the centre of Vienna! Personnel was very friendly, room was basic but clean! We will certainly book it again! We did not have breakfast in the hotel!
