I have spent 5 nights at Laurus with my wife and our 2 year old son. Let's just say we've had the worst (and most expensive) holidays.
Check in: to enter the hotel there is an automatic door which opens with the room key. The problem is that before checking in, you don't have a room key, so somebody has to open the door. We weren't that lucky. There is a telephone number you can call. We called but nobody answered. We had to wait a long while outside with our 2 year old son until the receptionist showed up.
Double rooms: I initially booked a Double Room with kitchen at 345€. The room is really small. The room has 20 meters but the kitchen gets an important part of that surface. We needed a crib for our son but there is not enough space to fit it, so they had to remove the small table that was in the kitchen. But what was even worse was the height of the ceilings, very low, 2 meters at most, which makes the room look even smaller. I like to enjoy my hotel room when I am vacation, this room is more a punishment than a enjoyment.
The apartment: We decided to upgrade to the apartment at a whopping 490€ per night. Crazy price but we had no choice. The manager made us clear during our stay that we had a great price, since the list price was 700€ (!!!). With these prices you expect the very best, the rooms and services at a 5 star level, and what you get here it's more like a cheap bed and breakfast. The apartment it's supposed to be for 4 adults: 2 sleep in a double bed, 2 sleep in a bunk sofa bed (!!) in the living room, if you have children they sleep in the floor because another bed does not fit. The living room has the kitchen, a dining table for 4 and the bunk sofa bed. It's all very functional and very new since the hotel is only 1 year old. It has 2 tiny bathrooms, but no bathtub in either of them. For us it was a disappointment since we bath our son everyday and he loves it.
- The staff were always super nice and very helping, all of them. The receptionist, the cleaning lady and Antonio, the maintenance man. The Russian manager is far less competent than any of her staff members.
- The children room: they have a great children's room with many toys, our son loved it.
- The pool: modern and good size for the size of the hotel. The temperature was a bit cold though.
- Hardwood floors: they are wide and thick, with a great feel.
