Large airy room, large wardrobe in the hallway of the room, and decent sized bathroom with shower. Good supply of hot water and efficient heating if required. Breakfast room was smart with reasonable selection of food, but little variation over 5 days. Teapots available. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Good Internet connection over wi-fi for 1Euro per day, although it stopped and had to be reset in the morning on two occasions The fixtures and fittings were dated but his added some charm. My room was at the back and a vehicle collected a skip early in the morning (just before 7am). Otherwise it was quite quiet. Fat free yoghurt - not to my liking.

Perfect location, extremely quiet (pedestrian zone). Very friendly and helpful staff, good security (there's always someone behind the reception desk). The wifi is extra, but there's a computer you can use for free in the lobby. No safe in the room, wifi is paid extra (but cheap). If you come by car, parking may be difficult/expensive.

Great location - Mariahilf Strasse was just over the bridge from the old town & really handy. The building itself obviously has history & was quite quirky with double doors into the room. Our room with ensuite was huge & turned out to be a family unit with 2 double & 1 single room! The breakfast was very good with an extensive choice & the staff were friendly & helpful. Graz is a really easy walking town & Hotel Mariahilf was an easy walk to the sights. Plus they have some great restaurants nearby. Everything was fine & we had a really nice stay. The internet "fell off" quite often & that was annoying sometimes - but we were out & about for most of our stay.

Only the hotel location was good and the cleaning. Incredibly run-down and old fashioned rooms with very eighties mood. The hotel could get a general renovation.

Excellent location, good breakfast, good size room. Bathroom needed renovation. Staff more interested in their computer than guests. Hotel generally a bit shabby.

Close to the city center rating in internet is not appropriate (>8!!) as the room was very small and old-fashioned, more like a youth hostel

The hotel is in an excellent position in the heart of Graz. The Staff could have made a little effort to at least appear to be happy to see guests. As the hotel is an older property in the heart of a historic district it is surrounded by narrow pedestrian streets. this means that at night street sounds are intrusive if you wish to sleep with an open window. It is not a problem when windows are closed but in Summer with no air con this might be a concern.

Central location but in a quiet, pedestrian area. The quietness of the hotel and the comfortable room, extremely large for a single room. Breakfast was in an elegant room and plenty of choice with coffee provided at the table. As can happen with a single room booking, was given a double room with a view over the back buildings of the hotel. Sometimes would prefer a single room with a pleasant view. However, double room was extremely comfortable and bathroom large and clean.

Very nice location, tidy, comfortable rooms. The hotel staff was very kind and friendly except of one staff member, Frau Gabriele Lackner. She was unpolite and unwilling to serve the guests. The Internet connections didn't allways work and that was a problem for me.
