international breakfast, every morning the same
The hotel is located around 200 yards from the pedestrianised zone of Saalbach and the nearest ski Lifts. The welcome we got on arrival was very nice and warming (a large schanpps to set us up for the night ahead). The hotel was extremely clean throughout and had a lot of modern touches for an older building. Obviously money has been spent upgrading the facilities. Touch sensor controls everywhere, light sensors automatically switching on / off , swipe card entry system etc. We booked an apartment type room and initial impression was that it was quite small. However it turned out to be actually excellent for our requirements in the end. The beds were large and bedding changed daily. The bathroom was excellent with modern facilities and a lovely shower to add. We had a large balcony overlooking the main Saalbach/ Hinterglemm road with views of the mountains beyond . Breakfast was a delight. A lovely spread of fresh bread/ cheeses / local jams + the option of a choice of cereals or cooked option as well as unlimited amounts of Coffee/Tea/ juice etc. We used the Hotels Sauna on a couple of occasions and the facilities available in the Sauna area were excellent again. All in all the hotel actually exceeded my expectations . There was no bar in the Hotel but this was made clear at time of booking. It is an ideal choice for people who want bed and breakfast accommodation with a short walk to the main facilities in the village. There is also a ski bus stop outside the hotel for those wishing to go up towards Hinterglemm or further down the valley. On a different issue we flew in to Salzburg and arranged a taxi to collect us at the airport and for the return trip. We used Austria Taxis AT as these came in at the best transfer price per person available. We were a party of 4. The service we got from Austria Taxis was spot on. The drivers were on time , polite and vehicles were very modern with Wi fI in the vehicles. All in all a good service.
I felt the price for our 4 night stay was expensive for what we had. Value for money wise I think we paid over the top. However we did stay during the days leading up to Fasching and the Hotel was fully booked up . Obviously a case of supply and demand . Apart from this there is nothing negative to say about the Hotel. One thing to add. I read somewhere that the Hotel only takes cash . Cash is king in Austria but we asked if we could pay using cards and this request was met politely and without fuss . We just had to wait 5 minutes while the owner / manager went and found his card machine .
Good central location Good breakfast
WIFI is a little intermittant
The hotel is a short walk from the centre and is a nice family run hotel with a good breakfast.
The hotel could do with an open bar chill out area and a hot tube although they do have a nice sauna.
