Clean, managed, staff
Nothing so far.
Nice staff, very clean, comfortable, parking, 15 minutes walking to the city centre, information point about the city.
Wifi connection wasn't working all the time in the room and we had no sheets in the beds when we arrived
The muffin hostel is way out from the city centre of Salzburg, and poorly connected. It isn´t even a hostel all year round, but a student´s dorm that gets converted into hostel during summer vacation. The staff are young people mostly from eastern Europe, presumably because they would be willing to work for the least of money. They apparently do not have either training or experience in the accomodation service industry. In fact, the muffin hostel offers zero service at rip-off prices. Want to come to Salzburg at the festival time? - this is what you get: 110+ € for the double room, barely kept clean, unironed sheets on an untidy bed, no elevator, no breakfast, no service. Voilá - enjoy your stay! If you want to do yourself a favour - stay away from Salzburg, at least during festival time. I had to come because of business; otherwise, for around 50.- € you can usually find a decent clean room in a nice private B&B in most places and areas in Austria, where the inhabitants are not yet only busying themselves with ripping off tourists. Transfer and visit Salzburg by train, bus, whatever - if you must.
Free parking, very kind stuff. Free kitchen. The green near the hostel. Young people.
The staff were excellent especially Sylwia who was very welcoming! The hotel has a nice ambiance
Amazing staff, specially Zuza and Alex. Very good hostel atmosphere and one of the cleanest hostels I have been, cleaning staff did great job.
They could add swinging beds in the garden as it is spacious enough and maybe a vending machine for some snacks.
Very clean and cosy room, perfect kitchen with free tea and coffee, quite nights, very green area around, about 15 minutes from the city center by walk through the park. Staff (Joanna, Asia, Alek, Jadzia, Sylwia, Zuza, Marzena and Ola) is very friendly and helpful. Moreover, they bake muffins for their guests!
It was clean, staff was friendly, we got really good tips on what to visit in the city and in the neighbourhood.
wifi was poor even in the lobby
Professional English-speaking staff. Comfortable beds and quiet location.
Premises are a little sterile and atmosphere a bit airporty.
Helpful and friendly staff; Hostel bar and garden - perfect places to meet backpackers from around the world; Close to the city center, located in a nice neighbourhood; Clean and neat rooms perfect for travellers of all ages; All necessary facilities; Internet OK
1. No wifi in rooms. 2. Staff not friendly at all. 3. Do not accept credit card even though booking.com says so!. they need full cash. 4. No cleaning of room or bathroom for 4 nights. 5. No bathtowel , no bath foam and shampoo, no toilet papers . 6. bed linen and pillow covers not changed for 4 days!. 7. no food and breakfast available. 8. no good breakfast restaurants nearby. 9. city centre very far and not walkable. need to pay 11 euros for cab each time or take a bus!. 10. the pre-authorise credit card and do not inform the customers. i was not aware at all. 11. no double beds available for couples and adults. only twin beds separate and cannot be joined together. 12. Kids at reception always sleepy doing night shifts and not aware of the needs of the hotel guests. no good infrastructure for guests. They just make some money during summer.
Nice personal Clean Rooms I was suprised, since we book one room with 4 beds and we get two rooms with bathroom - very well personal - they have it free and give it to us for the same price..so really big respect
It was only possible to pay with cash - so try to get payments with credit cards too
Wifi carpet dirty in room
Hostel was very tidy. Big plus for nice pub located downstairs with friendly atmosphere perfect for rainy evenings! The entire staff was very helpfull and friendly. Special thanks to Asia, thanks to her helpful advices we could make two wonderful trips during our stay in Salzburg. And many thanks for tasty muffins, of course!:) If only the weather was little better, it would be perfect to stay in this place forever!;)
Nice staff, 20min walk to the Hohensalzburg castle and old town.
Very expensive for hostel dorm rooms.
The shared rooms have three beds and one bathroom. So you only have to share the bathroom with three people, wich is nice. Everything was very clean.
Normal youth hostel
Really nice and helpful personnel, bathroom very clean
Our room was very very small for 3 petsons, we had to put bed sheet ourselves, no towel in room, no elevator and the place was far from the coty center
The staff was good however, the young man working the desk was very slow. For as busy as they were he was a hindrance. He could not multi-task even the the simplest things. He rudely would hold up his index finger as a means of stopping you in a sentence. The internet was one of the worst I have ever experienced. The female staff was great...thank you Sylvia!
Staff were very helpful and friendly. The hostel is in a nice upmarket suburb of the town and genuinely only 15 minutes walk from the Old town. Liked the hostel atmosphere.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, and in addition to taking care of guests' needs, spent time visiting with guests and making us feel at home. In addition to being in a beautiful location in a garden near a park in a lovely neighborhood, the hostel itself was clean, spacious and welcoming, with lots of space and opportunities to meet and become friends with fellow travelers and staff. I spent a lot of time hanging out with guests and staff and made friends among both, with whom I expect to stay in touch. Not only was Muffin a relaxing and beautiful place to come back to every evening, but it provided the ultimate hostel experience by enabling guests and staff to meet and socialize, whether in the large, friendly common area, the bar, the garden or the computer/ common room. Probably the best hostel experience I've ever had. I was very sorry to leave my new friends among the staff and other guests!
For me, the location was perfect - it's so close to the city centre, that you can get there by foot in just a couple of minutes and yet far enough so that the neighbourhood is quiet, peaceful and there's not a lot of tourists around. The rooms are very clean and suprisingly comfortable. Each floor has a kitchen, where you can prepare a meal for yourself, there's free wi-fi and a bar downstairs for when you need a drink but don't want to go out. Also, a big shout-out to the whole staff, everyone I encountered was really cool and helpful and honestly, I have no idea what you'd have to do for them to be 'unfriendly'. I guess you need to keep in mind it's not a hotel but a hostel, converted from a school's halls. If you don't manage your expectations, you might be disappointed. If you do, you will be delighted.
Pretty much nothing, the price could be lower but I guess it's just Salzburg being an expensive city.
Jadzia, Zuza, Aska, Joanna, Aleks, Marzena, Sylwia and Ola - the entire staff was extremely helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to accomodate me at every step and I could see how hard they were working to do the same for all the guests who stayed there. The location was good, only a medium length walk to the city center. The beds were pretty comfortable and the hostel was kept clean and tidy. And the price - impossible to beat! Overall, one of the better hostel experiences I've had!
The staff is nice and friendly helping us
Far away from the main station, the wifi is only available in the lobby and the room signal is rather low. The room is very very small, not worthy with the price paid
I have to give room key back to reception when I go out. The bed is not clean.
